Hi all,
I have a jailbroken iPhone 6 running iOS 8.4.
Whenever i try to use braille screen input, voiceover just randomly crashes. I have tried rebooting the device, and reenabling braille screen input, but nothing seems to help. I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this, or if it is just me messing up my iPhone with jailbreak. Thanks for your help

Hello, I have the Brailliant for a year and I love it.

I am unable to re-pair my Focus 40 to my iPad Pro, iPhone 12 and iPad Mini., all updated to the latest OS version.
It worked fine until I had to unpair it then re-pair it. I tried pairing it with Windows machine and it worked just fine. So it is unlikely it is an issue wih my Focus. Any idea why this is happening and to solve it?
P.S: I have other braille displays and they work fine, I unpaired them and re-paired them with no issues.
I've just installed MBraille and would like to use it, but even when I'm in direct touch and try to interact with the keyboard, I somehow manage to involuntarily perform certain VoiceOver gestures that are not in direct touch (like magic tap, clicking notifications etc.)
Could anyone explain me how to overcome this problem?
Thank you.
Hi! I have a focus 14 blue braille display. For some reasons the braille buttons, the ones you write with and that are needed for most of the commands, are not working. I have tried a lot of things like restoring settings, restoring my phone and even making my phone forget the display but nothing works. Is there a way to reset the actual display if that\s what has to be done.
Hi guys! :)
I've had an iPhone for over a year now, and I use it quite a fair bit in conjunction with my Braille-Sense U2, as both a Braille display and a keyboard. Now a few days ago I got an iPad, and I'd really like to use it with the Braille-Sense as well.
Hi, I have an Orbit writer. I try to connect it to an iPhone SE 2020 and iPhone 7 it shows up as a connectable device under braille displays it acts like it will connect than instantly disconnects. It connected previously under iOS 14.01. The Orbit writer is running the latest firmware as far as I know. Can anyone please help? How do I fix this? What am I not doing right? All help and suggestions are truly appreciated.
Hello Applevis.
I am having a problem with Voice Dream Reader and a Braille Display. When panning VRD does not start at the beginning of a passage and starts mid sentence. I have contacted the dev but is there anything I can do? Thank you.
÷Hello.
I aquired a focus 14 blue a while ago and it rocks.
The problems I have are:
First, I cannot do something like on the keyboard that lets me move between containers. Is there such a command.
Second, often my braille display has a tendensy to make a sound and then jump. Is there a solution for that?
Also, is there a quicker way to do things like on a keyboard where I can search for an app by typing? I am running iOs 12.4 and have an iPhone SE.
Hi everyone. I have a HumanWare Brailliant BI40X. When I got it, I was shown how to use it with an iPhone, including entering text. I exchanged text messages with my trainer. I know it worked, last October.
Since then, I've primarily been using the display to read NLS books. In other words, I've been using it as a standalone device, not with my iPhone. But now I want to get up to speed on using it with my iPhone. AppleVis and the Apple documentation have been great, except for one problem.
I am a regular middle school computers teacher and I have a blind student. He's a Focus 40 braille display. Suddenly it stopped sending information to his Ipad. The student can read but not to enter data. I already run all the diagnostic tests and everything works and of course the dot keys and the space bar didn't respond. The mother is trying to contact the provider but still has no answer. Any insight? I hope it is just something related with the settings. The manual troubleshooting section doesn't mention this problem. I hope it is not seriously broken.
I am learning to use iBooks, but I have one major disappointment in that I cannot get Braille to sensibly and continuously scroll, and related to this, I cannot adjust the scrolling speed. If I press r-chord the display advances far too quickly - seeming to miss whole sections as it races to the end. Manually panning works smoothly, and auto page turning in settings functions properly for me. I have several displays to choose from, and the unhelpful autoscrolling happens regardless of display. Using an iPhone 6+ with latest operating system. Speech is muted.
Hello all,
Recently my wife and I have experienced a problem when using our Braille displays and accessNote. Here is what happens:
1. Add a new note and begin to write.
2. At some point while writing, the Braille display will revert to a previous line, making it impossible for you to see what you have just written.
3. Use dots 3-6 and space bar to move the insertion point back to the end of your current writing position in order to continue.
There is a problem with connecting braille displays in IOS 10.2. Typing is very slow and some letters just fail to come up. It's a real pain in the intimate part of the body.
Has anyone found a sollution for this?
Does anyone have any tips for getting a braillesense OnHand to work better with my IPHone 6? I have paired it and it is showing braille but when I am trying to scroll the display with the scrolling buttons, I have to press them several times in order for the display to actually scroll. Similarly when I am typing letters, I have to press a letter several times for it to show up. I have 8-dot braille set in voiceover settings for both input and output. anything else I am missing?
I am hoping someone can help me.
I have a Braille Sense U2, an iPhone 5S, a MacBook Air, and an iPad 4.
Previously, I was able to pair my Braille Sense U2 with both my phone and my iPad. The other day, I attempted to pair it with the Air, but, after several attempts had no luck.
Figuring I was doing something wrong, I decided to go back to the Braille Sense/iPad combination that had been working. I am now receiving a message that says "Braille Sense U2 is not supported."
Is anyone else having this issue since iOS 7.1? What do I do?
Prior to the last IOS 9 update, I had no problems with several things when pairing my IPhone 6 with my Brailliant 32 BI display. One issue I probably resolved by bringing the display up to the current firmware update. But the problems did not go away completely. I discovered that when attempting to use either the email app or the message app, rather than the display being able to focus on the field I directed it to (in spite of the presence of the cursor on the display that usually means it is focused on where I wanted it to be), it was actually focused on the on-screen keyboard.
Hi all,
I have a focus 40 Blue and two of the dots are stuck in the up position. So for example, when I turn on the display it should say "Focus 40." But because of these two dots that won't move it says "focus WZ." I just sent it back for repair last month when the intire display went out. I would like to avoid having to do this again if at all possible. Does anyone know any tricks that may work to fix this? If so pplease let me know!
Thanks so much,
Holly
