Hi all
I have a Brf file that I would like to read on my ipad using vo and my bi14 I cannot convert the file to text as it's seb Braille so won't translate corectly.
Therefore I am searching for an app that will allow me to do this.
I have downloaded Braille Talk which cost £64 for the full version but cannot import the book from dropbox as there is no listen in Braille talk in the share options.
Any help would be great!
I'm currently using iBooks to read ePub books. I'm noticing that the apostrophe gets translated as a single quote and I'm wondering if there's a solution for that. My second question is whether ePubs have to be divided into pages. Can they be displayed without page breaks? Thanks!
Hi all,
I am looking for any general hints on how to read ibooks using a Braille display. Currently I have a refreshabraille from aph. Thanks for any thoughts.
I know this may be a silly and simple question, but I am not the most technical person and am left to figure out most stuff by myself, which I am not that good at. I recently (last weekend) upgraded to an iPhone 6, which obviously would have the latest iOS version on it. So when I am reading my iBook, whenever it pans to the next page, a message comes up telling me what page I am on (e.g. page 201 of 648). This never used to happen.
Good afternoon. what is the best way to read an iBook using VoiceOver and a braille display? is there a way to read continuously? I can use an O chord and O W chord to get to the next or previous page on the Kindle app but this does not work in iBooks? Do I have to select each page by going to the page chooser at the end of each page? Thank you.
I am wishing to find the best way to read the (Catholic) Bible on a Braille display via iOS. I’m not wanting to have the books right on my display, but I want to find a way to read them from an app or site that already exists on the Internet via my iPhone and iOS.
I have a Mantis.
My particular concerns are 1) the focus not jumping around, particularly back to the top of an element while I’m attempting to read, 2) having something that is easily navigable and 3) not having a whole lot of links or extra formatting to deal with while reading.
Hi folks,
I am curious if there is a way to read the Web Braille files using my Braille display and ipad/iphone? If this is a possibility then it will sinch my wife getting an ipad. Thanks for any help.
When reading a book with the Books app on iOs I notice when the line changes using the panning buttons the braille display jumps to the status bar for the message duration then jumps back to your reading position in the book. Has anyone noticed this? What have you done about it?
I tried making a VoiceOver activity to address the message duration in the braille settings but Sadly, this option is not available to set for an activity. This option only appears to be a global setting.
Hi AppleVIS users.
Does anyone know of a good braille Display that supports Chinese braille input and output for iOS devices?
I currently have an APH Chameleon 20 but I realize that it does not display Chinese braille when iOS to text Chinese characters.
Braille reflow is turned on and set to the proper number of Braille cells that my display has, yet I still get lots of white space when I am trying to read a Braile book in BARD Mobile with my Braille display and iOS.
How do I reduce this white space as much as possible or at least skip over it more efficiently when reading?
I'm using an APH refreshabraille 18 with my 5S iphone (ios 8) with Voiceover on. I cannot figure out how to close apps using the braille display. Thanks for your help.
Hello all, I have a Refreshabraille I am trying to connect to an iphone running iOS 8. But it will not connect. I can connect to all other devices running iOS 7, so I know it's not the Refreshabraille. I had the display connected to the iphone just before I updated, but now it's like my phone can't find the display. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Hi friends! My Name Is Anders and I am New to this forum. I wonder if anyone else is using braille with Mac OS Catalina and how you think it works? Most of the time I must say I love it but there are some bugs or glitches I really hope they fix. On some sites it seems I am unable to read text with my braille Display when I start from a heading. For example a Swedish bible site where I can navigate by heading and when I do that I can only hear text if speech is active. Its really had to explain this as my main language is Swedish and not English.
Hi. I have just taken delivery of my new braille display from humanware. The first thing I always do when configuring my display is to reverse the thumb keys on the front of the display. This has worked well, except for as soon as I connect to my iPad or iPhone. The keys reset them sells to how they originally were, or at least that is how it seems. I have looked through all the Braille options I can think of, both under voice-over and under the display itself, but no luck. Can someone help? Thank you.
I was wondering has anybody seen or can point me to a good review of the new Orbit writer? I saw this the other day and am seriously considdering this when it comes out.
There is a folder called Locale on my new OR 20 plus. Is that the root folder? I put the update file in that folder and followed the steps. Nothing happened. Woe is me.
