Hello' I have an iPhone SE and a focus 14 blue blaille display' I have read the manual for using the focus 14 and focus 40 blue braille displays with iOs and there is a command to select text wich I cannot remember right now' How do I edit text using a braille display

Up until a few months back, I could send a message while using braille screen input by performing a 3 finger flick up.
I have noticed that this function has stopped working in ios 17. Is any one else experiencing this behavior?

For the past few days, I have been experiencing a major bug with my iPhone, iOS 15.2.1, and my Brailliant BI40X. Sorry, I can't remember which iPhone model I have. It is on the newer side, but is not the latest and greatest. It does not have a home button. Anyway, often when I am writing a message with my braille display, and either turn speech on or off using space with M, the braille display freezes, and the phone pretty much freezes as well. Siri will still work, but VoiceOver is extremely sluggish.

Am I correct in assuming that when using Voiceover on an iPod or iPhone, a person can't silence speech and have only braille output? If I'm wrong, how would you do that?

Is there a way to simulate the double tap and hold/drag gesture with a braille display such as the focus 40? I am experimenting with an app that requires the user to drag values up and down to change them. I can do this on the iPad itself, but it would be very handy to be able to do this with the focus 40. Alternatively, I could use a bluetooth keyboard instead if it can be done with that? I would appreciate any help with this. Thanks

1. How does braille displays work in general? On my iPad Pro, it works very well. I've heard about some issues on the mac, for example that the focus doesn't update if you switch from one to another window.

Hi, I just heard about brailling on an Iphone. How on earth do you position your fingers correctly? Why does pressing dot 4 kick me out of the braille keyboard? Is there a help file somewhere? Thanks

when I type with Braille virtual Keyboard on my Iphone after the update, I notece that sometimes it makes a sound, someone knows what it is mean?, and I notice too, what in Email, dalate doesn't work very well, I would like to know if it happens only to me or to the others too, with 13.1 anything changed.

Hello, at this time i think about upgrating my braille display to newer braille display. I use VarioUltra braille display from Baum. I thot about one of the braille displays. bowuth from Hims campeny. i am very enthusiastic from the Braille Sence Polaris and the Q Braille XL. bowuth interesting me. one because the qwerty ability, and seccond because the note taking ability. I want to ask if bowuth works with ios and TV OS devices and how it's good innuth? somebuddy has tryed one of them or bowuth Thanks for your replys..

I am trying to use a braille display on mac sonoma. Out of the box, I cannot scrol with the buttons to the side of the display to move by 40 cells and when pressing routing keys the cursor moves but as soon as I type it puts letters where my speech was talking last instead of where my braille routing key is. this behaviour is the same with different braille displays and was mostly checked with visual studio code.
Any tips, information or advise? I am new with braille on the mac.

Does anyone know when the speed dots screen protectors will be available again? The web site says it's happening soon, but wasn't sure. I'm getting a new phone with no home button and no speed dots, so I hope it will be coming soon.

Is it possible to get focus to the split view slider control via Braille display only?
What I mean is this:
if I am in an app I can press dots 1-6 chord to switch to a overlayed app that takes up a third of the screen. To get to split view so both apps are active (50-50) you must navigate to the vertical splitter control and choose an action. I cannot seem to navigate to this control without using touch. I'd like to navigate to it using the Braille display.

I disabled show status cells and show extended status cells, but my braille display displays nothing instead of text. What setting do I need to change so I have a more optimized viewing experience? Or is this is yet another shortcoming that I just need to accept?

I hope Apple improves braille support on Mac soon!

I am working with an iPhone SE 2020 running 15.2.1. I often connect my Orbit Reader 20 braille display to my iPhone via bluetooth. But when I turn bluetooth off, the keyboard on my phone still behaves like the display is connected. When I go to enter text, the keyboard is gone so the only way I am able to enter text is via dictation. When I turn bluetooth back on and try to reconnect the display, it is not recognized. The bluetooth connection is also lost if I receive a phone call while working with the display.

I have an Iphone 13 and an Apple Watch Series 5 paired to my RefreshaBraille 18 Braille display and am experiencing an issue that hopefully someone can help me with.

Almost a couple weeks ago, I installed the latest IOS updates on both my watch and phone. Everything was working fine with my watch, phone and Braille display until the update.
