I recently downloaded the update of MBraille that was released on January 7, 2016. I'm using an IPhone 5S with the latest version of IOS, 9.2. When I use the MBraille third-party keyboard, I can only type in Grade 1, and I can't use gestures like preview, clear, and delete word. It will say, "Delete word gesture requires the paid version and full access in Settings." Full access is enabled, I purchased the full version and have restored my purchases, so I'm not sure what else to do at this point. Any ideas would be helpful. Thank you.
Hello all. For all who have tried mbraille and or braille screen input? What's the differents between the two? What can you do with mbraille that you can't otherwise do with braille screen input? Is it better than BSI for all who use it? Not saying I'll switch, as I love my BSI method, but curious minds wanna know as I know people who use MBraille and what not. I did install the app on my phone because I got curious and I guess I see potential in this, but why, when you already have a built-in system for IOS that allows you to type in braille? And for free!
I'd like to hear from people who use both the M Braille app and the built-in Braille screen input. I'm currently playing around with the built-in braille input as well as the free version of M Braille on the latest Ios 8.4 on an Ipod Touch 5G.
I don't know if it's my imagination, but I seem to type braille just a bit faster with the M Braille app. But, again, this could be my imagination.
Hello,
I am curious if anyone using a Braille display has experienced the following issue in the messages app:
1. Enter a new text message.
2. Start a new message and type something such as Hi (name of contact).
3. On your display you will see a comma I believe and then text concerning a mention.
4. Continue typing and note that text appears run together and is difficult to edit.
5. Send the message.
Hi all,
I'm going to be purchasing a new portable braille display soon. The ones I know of are the BraillePen 12, the Focus 14, the Perkins mini display, and the APH Refreshibraille displays. Which of hess have people used? What are your thoughts on them? For those of you who've used more than one, which display did you like better and why?
It would be nice, but not required, if the display worked under Windows with System Access. Do you know if any of these do?
Lastly, are there any braille displays in this category that I've missed?
While the iPad Pro is in landscape mode, how do I jump from message list to the body page on the right pane? I mean, I can scroll down the list to particular message, then select it. But, how do I jump directly to the body page? Right now, I have to use chord 4 5 6 then scroll up but it's a lot of work! I use Focus 40 Blue 5th Generation.
Any idea how to invoke the modifier keys in BSI? Such as control, option, and command. With an external braile display, this is usually done with dot 7. Do I have to be in 8-dot mode in BSI to invoke these keys?
Use case: I'm editing a doc in the Google Docs app, and I want to add a comment to the text, so I need to invoke command+option+M.
I'll try 8-dot, but if anyone knows for certain, please chime in.. Thanks.
I'm doing quite well now with the Focus, but I have some questions that neither the manual or keyboard help are helping me with. How do I get the iPhone's cursor to follow the Braille cursor? How do I select the text that I want to select? I know how to do this on the phone, but it would be helpful to do it on the Focus. It looks like the copy, cut and paste commands are easy, but I can't figure out how to select the right text. Thank you.
Hello,
I have an 11-inch M1 iPad pro, which is running the latest developer beta of iPadOS16.
I have my iPad paired with my Focus 40 5th generation Braille display, & would like to know if there's a way to set it up, so I can move from the left side of the screen, where the categories are, to the right side, which is where the items themselves are located.
Is there an easy way to accomplish said task?
I hope my question makes sense.
thanks in advance for any information you wonderful people can provide.n
Hello,
Iām using my Focus 40 5th generation Braille display with my iPhone.
I have a question about how to enter a new line when working in places such as, "Messages" where pressing my enter key will send the message, rather than create a new line.
Does anyone know how to create a new line in this situation?
I am use Smart Beetle Braille Display and my Display getting stock on the content that was displayed previously. but I can operate my iPhone with Braille Display, is there any problems on iOS with other Braille Displayes?

Hi
First: any info on how to navigate Pages document on iPad using a braille display? I navigate by lines, but at the end of the page I navigate the app options.
Second: the same for VoiceDream Reader, how to navigate by pages?
I have a very specific question on using the Focus 14 Blue braille display with the app 'Pages' on I-Pad.
How can one navigate inside the text field? I cannot find the braille display commands to go to a previous or next written line in a text, or for example put the cursor at the end of an existing document to add some text there, in application 'Pages'.
I'm wondering what the most efficient way would be to navigate web pages with a Focus 40? I currently set the rotor to headings and navigate that way. I was under the impression that I could turn on single letter navigation and navigate that way. This doesn't seem to work for me. When I press dots 1-2-3-4-5-7 chord, the display says, single letter nav on/off. Then if I try to hit h to navigate by heading, nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?
Hi. I need a list of braille commands for the Mac. I tried searching and can't find one. I can type ok, but can't figure out how to move to the doc, interact with things and other navigation commands. Using a brailleNote Apex.
Hi
Although I'm posting this under the apple section because that's what I'll be using the most for college and work my question is general.
So my focus 4th gen is starting to have problems. Poor battery even after change 2 years ago, some normal braille cells issues... But the main thing is that I had this for about 7 years now. I often use bluetooth and there are frequent disconnects especially on mac. It's micro usb, and it lacks hid braille and built-in basic note taking functions.
Hello
I'm using my new braille on my MacBook Air. I have used it on my pc before and there was lots of settings but on Mac I can't find general category, cursor and date and time settings. And if I'm reading the document the cursor isn't moving.
Thanks for any help
