Hi everyone, I have a couple questions about braille displays connected to Mac.
1. Why is there a delay from braille output when reviewing my emai, for example, but if I want to quickly navigate a site like AppleVis on Safari, my chosen Braille Display settings are functioning as expected; there is no noticeable delay when quickly skimming through headings. Am I missing something? Or has this always been an issue? This makes it really hard to use my Braille Display with VoiceOver completed muted.
Hi!
I have started using braille input on screen in websites and that works fine. I only have a question. How do I move to text? Also, can someone give me a summary of commands?
Hi. I feel stupid posing this question but there's no way around it. I just bought an iphone 5s and think thei braille screen input option is a fantastic idea. However i've just tried it and failed miserably. I grew up using a perkins two-hand typewriter so that's my point of orientation. I find that in screen-away mode the dots have some logic to them, but the rows are inverted so that 1-2-3 is to the right of 4-5-6 when 1 and 4 are on the top left. Can i invert the position of the rows?
Good morning,
I am learning to use my Braille display with Google Docs. Does anyone know if there are specific Google Docs commands for a Braille display or voiceover in general? Also, is there a way to navigate by paragraph or sentence? Thanks for any help.
Hey all! I have a question or 2 about the MBRAILLE app.
1. I seen the 2 things you can purchase the keyboard and the other package I cannot remember what it's called. If I purchase the 2nd package will I get every thing including the keyboard? Or will I have to buy that separately?
2. Can I reposition the keys on the piano layout? If so, how can I do that?
3. If someone could please do a demo of this app I'd really appreciate it!
What CI'd like to do is use this app in conjunction with BSI.
Hi everyone, i recently just started a course with the OU here in the uk, and we will be using adobe connect for tutorials. I know people have asked before on here about adobe connect and how accessible it was on the mac, and wondered if it had improved in recent years?also does anyone know where i might find a list of commands for adobe with voiceover, as the ones i did find don’t seem to work!
I need help with Pages. How co I create a document? Where do I start typing% I uneerstand shere is a plus sign that Voice Over will not read. I am using the lasest ios version. I use a braille display.
Hello, all. I am just working on mastering a variety of apps using my Focus 14 and the iPhone 5s. I do not do well using the swipes and gestures, and depend almost exclusively on the Focus 14 keyboard.
Hello. Ever since IOS 8 was released, there has been a bug with QuickNav and refreshable Braille display keyboards. In IOS 8, QuickNav is supposed to be toggled on and off by typing q plus the spacebar on Braille display keyboards, but typing this combination only results in VoiceOver always saying "QuickNav on" and the state of QuickNav is unchanged. I read a lot of Braille books using BARD Mobile, and it is important to be able to turn QuickNav off in order for the Braille shortcut keys in BARD Mobile to work correctly.
Hi all,
I heard there is a possibility to read books in VoiceDream using a braille display.
But how and where can I do that exactly in the app?
Thank you!
This morning, I tried to read a Kindle book using a braille display. I opened the book in the Kindle app in my iPhone. My braille display is a Brailliant bi40x. Things worked as expected. I could read each braille line using the front panel controls of the braille display, and when I reached the end of a page, I could scroll to the next.
Hello! I have a quick question. But first, I want to thank everybody that’s been helping me over the last few days get voice dream reader set up the way that I wanted, and helping me learn how to use it! I’m still learning, and I might have more questions about that as I go. My question today though is, recently the braille device that I used to read books recently became inoperable. I should mention that the device was not hooked up to the iPad. My question is, is there a way for me to read VRF books and magazines on the iPad without a display?
So I am just curious about this. I've always been interested in what braille for languages such zjapanese, Chinese, etc looks like. But when reading those type of characters with a braille display I just get some symbols and numbers that make 0 sense. Not that I expect to understand what I am reading, but somehow I doubt that's what the Braille actually looks like. Is there a way to get everything to display correctly? Thanks in advance!
I have some braille materials which i need to store on my mac, but need to read there content first,
i do not want a braille editor or advanced thing, just good braille reader.
Thanks in advance
I have a RefreshaBraille display, and an iPhone 4S with IOS 7. I'd like to be able to grab text from either an e-mail attachment or a dropbox folder, and copy into my notes app so that I can read things when I do not have data or wifi access. In theory, I thought I was able to do this, but it seems like when I try to copy all text and attempt to paste to a note, I am unable to copy. I double-tapped on a dropbox file from that app, but can't copy the text for pasting into a note. Can this be done?
Hi all
I have a Brf file that I would like to read on my ipad using vo and my bi14 I cannot convert the file to text as it's seb Braille so won't translate corectly.
Therefore I am searching for an app that will allow me to do this.
I have downloaded Braille Talk which cost £64 for the full version but cannot import the book from dropbox as there is no listen in Braille talk in the share options.
Any help would be great!
I'm currently using iBooks to read ePub books. I'm noticing that the apostrophe gets translated as a single quote and I'm wondering if there's a solution for that. My second question is whether ePubs have to be divided into pages. Can they be displayed without page breaks? Thanks!
Hi all,
I am looking for any general hints on how to read ibooks using a Braille display. Currently I have a refreshabraille from aph. Thanks for any thoughts.
