I am having issues with braille on latest mac.
When reading in TextEdit entire lines may be skipped. Sometimes when I scroll down to a new line it immediately goes back to the previous one.
Using Mac latest version on Mac Air and braille sense U2.

Hi all, I have an idea to add the braille on the packaging of Apple product, like outside box or user guide inside.

Do you think it would be helpful?

What's the experience and main barrier when receiving a new well packed iPhone?

What content of braille could help? Or what do you expect?

Thanks!

Hi all. Does anyone know how to get the mac to show formatting details on a braille display, like Italics signs and such? Or, if not, does anyone know how I can install BRLTTY or any braille translation software that works? I tried the latest Louis, the one that's an offline web app, but it didn't work.

Hi, folks, I'm trying to decide what kind of small refreshable braille device with braille input would be handiest. I would like to connect to my (new!) mac, my iPhone and the iPad I am supposed to use for work purposes. I have seen the braille pen 12 and found keyboard a little clunky and loud: not ideal for quiet notes in meetings or (let's be honest) covert texting in same! Is the Focus 14 better in terms of quiet entry? Which will give me more flexibility in switching it from the Mac to the iPhone and back?

Hi all. I put this here, though embosser recommendations would be great too. Basically what do you use,a nd tthe onlyone i see that prints with the Mac are the indexes. If anyonehas anything else to add, I
d appreciate it. thanks.

Braille does not seem to work as it has been in the previous version. I get frequent disconnections and it is impossible reconnect unless I restart or unpair. Although the braille display connections show the device is connected.
Any idea how to solve this problem? Is anyone going through this?

So I dunno if I'm being an idiot here or not. My experience with Braille is with JAWS and NVDA.

Hi there, I'm taking a Braille transcribers course and downloaded the perky duck app for themas, but its not behaving properly. I can't get voice over to read the braille on the screen. Any suggestions on how to improve the programme or any alternative apps?
Thanks loads.

I am planning to participate for the first time in the Braille Readers Are Leaders contest under the Adult Category. I am a Novice Braille reader as I only started learning late in life.

So, I am looking for the best/most efficient way to read Grade 1 Braille via my phone using iOS.

I already have an Orbit Reader 20 Plus connected to my phone and set to Grade 1 output, but I’m wondering which apps allow for the most efficient, hassle-free reading.

I am already subscribed to Bookshare and I do have BARD, Apple Books, Libby and the Kindle app.

When trying to use braille screen input, I cannot understand how the dots go. Can some explain it? I am used to type with 8-dot version.

I love the braille screen input feature of iOS but the only problem I have is I can't seem to make it recognize a for sign. I can enter everything else just fine. Anybody else having this issue?

Lhow do you make the at sign using Braille Screen Input?
I've heard its dots 4 and 7 but can't figure out how to do that on an iPhone screen. I can do it just fine with a bluetooth keyboard but would love to be able to do it `with BSI.
Thanks in advance everyone.

Hello,

I hate the bubble sound when using BSI in iOS 13. I find it annoying enough that I haven't yet updated my primary iPhone. I also still notice, on my older iPhone that I did update, that I still seem to have difficulty getting BSI to recognize when I flick right for a space. Sometimes it takes me 2 or 3 attempts to get the space to take. I type constantly using BSI, so this is frustrating to me. I've sent 2 emails to Apple's accessibility department and haven't received a reply.

Hello Applevis community.

Recently I bought an iPhone 6S and was wondering if there is some sort of reference on the web for some of the various braille symbols used with BSI.

I know braille, but haven't used it in so long, let's just say UEB was unheard of around 15 years ago, so while I know the basics, that is to say, I know grade 2 UK english braille, which is what we use to use here in Australia, I don't know the dot combinations for things like an underscore.

Was just thinking I'd see what other people's opinions are on having BSI as an actual iOS keyboard option?
I've thought for a long time now that it would be useful to just open a text field and type straight away, you could then just swipe the keyboard away when you're done and the phone would return to normal usage?
What is everyone's thoughts on this one?
Just thought it'd be an interesting concept, but I might be talking a load of old junk haha

Hi all!
I hope you're all having a good day / night.
There are two issues with braille screen input. They are
1. Sometimes, when deleting a word, that word duplicates itself.
2. The most annoying one: The space command in braille screen input fails roughly half the time. Most of the time I realize it, but sometimes I don't. The worst thing is, the only indication is VO sometimes only reading the last three or so letters of the word you just enters. SomeTimes it says space even when there is none, or doesn't say space when there is.

Hi, can you enable braille screen imput at the setup screen? In other words can I reset the phone and have braille screen input when I first setup the phone?
