Using The BrailleOne (Chameleon) Braille Display, I discovered VoiceOver does not speak any punctuation after I typed it although system punctuation is set to: "Some." Also when I select: "words" in the Rotor, VoiceOver announces many times the last 2 to 3 words I entered instead of only the word I just typed. Not a show stopper. Just curious. Is this a IOS 15 bug?

Hello everyone,

Hi everyone,
I have been trying to decide between the BrailleSense 6 from Hims Inc, and the BrailleNote Touch Plus 32 from Humanware.
I have been comparing the OS, tech specs, and pre-installed applications. However, I was wondering if any of you could give me your opinions on which one you prefer and why.
Any reasons or relevant information provided would be useful.
Thanks in advanced.

Hi all
I updated my iPad Pro and iPhone XS Max to the latest iOS. Since then I am encountering some troubles as follows:
1. Sometimes my braille freezes for no reason. I lock then unlock the screen and it is back to normal again.
2. When I type using my braille, sometimes the character is repeated so many times. I am sure there is no problem with my braille input keys.

Hi
How to navigate the screen and perform mommands using a BrailleSense U2 with a QWERTY keyboard? I know you can not control the device using the qwerty keyboard like pressing H to navigate through headings and so on, so what is the alternative to that?
Thanks!

Has anyone had the opportunity to compare the Orbit 20 and the new Brailliant 14 braille displays? I am looking for a first braille display, mostly to use with my Apple products like my iPhone, iPad, or Mac. It would be nice if it worked with Windows 10 too but not necessary. I know the Brailliants are popular and the Orbit is new. Any thoughts would be appreciated for a newbie braille display user. I would prefer not to pay more than $1000 for a first display, so why I'm looking at these.

Hello, I primarily use a Focus 14 with my ipad, but I also paired my Brailliant Bi 40 for tasks that require a significant amount of reading. The Brailliant paired ok, but in the middle of writing a text message in the messages app, the Brailliant locked up completely and a bunch of randem characters appeared on the display. The characters would not go away no matter what I did and the ipad ev*ntually became unresponsive as well.

Hello.

Does anyone else experience this?

Experienced this issue for about a year now through MacOS 10.13.6 through 10.13.4.
My Brailliant is running the latest firmware 2.0.13. (Numbers may be misremembered, but I did check and it is still on latest firmware as of today)

I would like to be able to use my Brailliant BI 40 to navigate my Mac as well as just read what is on the screen.

Hi all,
I'm trying to connect my new Brilliant BI 40 to my MacBook Pro 2012 with bluetooth, and it's not not happening.

I can connect it just fine with USB, but I really want to use it wirelessly.

When I do the pairing thing from the VoiceOver Utility, the table of compatible devices remains empty, although something, but I'm not sure what seems to happen when I turn the device on and off, but that could be exactly the same thing which seems to happen every 10 seconds or so to the table when there's nothing to see.

I am trying to decide wether or not to purchase a new braille display. My BrailleNote Apex is extremely annoying when it comes to establishing, maintaining, and reestablishing a bluetooth connection to my iOS devices. Afraid it'll only get flakier with age.

That is why I am interested in the Brailliant BI40X. I'd prefer 32 cells for size, but it both has on-board reading and minimal note taking ability, and a feature for quickly connecting to iOS.

Hi all. wondering if anyone can shead some light on an issue I am having. Whenever I have my Brailliant BI-x 20 turned on I cannot get it to disconnect at all and end up either unpairing it or turning off bluetooth. Surely I shouldn't have to do this just to use the on-screen keyboard intermittently. I am running Ios 15.1.1 and Ipan OS 15.1.1 also. I have literally unpaihed from both devices now as it really is getting on my merves. As i said above, even using the disconnect option under the Braille Display button in settings just disconnects and immediately reconnects again.

I have a student who has his Brailliant display paired to his iPhone. He is unable to type in any edit fields.
Is this a 16.3 bug?
Thank you.

Hi everyone. Subject pretty much says it. I'd like a clarification on something having to do with Humanware's Braille displays. Is their NLS eReader identical to/the same as their Brailliant series? I ask because I'm having a heck of a time connecting my eReader to USB. My brother seems to have done it when he and I were at our parents' place for Christmas. But the positioning was such that it made things a bit difficult. He came into the bedroom where I was. At the time I was sitting in a chair that was situated kitty-corner to my blow-up mattress.

I recently got a brailliant and am trying to figure out which app to use for editing digital documents.

I tried google docs but when I select a router key to edit, it puts and leaves the cursor where I selected but then the braille strip jumps to the top of the page. If anyone knows a fix to this, let me know! I was hoping to use google docs. I've also tried the notes app but don't love it.

Sometimes I'm creating my own original document and other times I have a google doc I need to download and edit.

Hello.
I'm having a bit of trouble with my new Braillient.
After I first paired it, it only teok 5 minutes before it froze and I had to repair it. I'm confused why this is happening. I onby know that it happens while I am typing a message. Help would be apreciated.

Hello, I am using the Duolingo application to learn Spanish. I am using an iPhone 10 running iOS 13.1.3. I have paired my phone with an Orbit 20 Braille notetaker. To be able to write grade 1 Spanish in this application, I am using the Spanish Liblouis Braille table. Using this table, I am unable to write a questionmark. The Spanish questionmark in Braille is the "en" sign = dots 2-6. The LibLouis library interprets this symbol as a numeric 5. How do you write a Spanish questionmark in Braille using this library? Thanks.

Dear Braille users:

Hi all, I'm trying to use BSI to write a message, but, while I use it with no problems in other apps, when in the Messages app I seem to have no way to access screen-away mode. If I set the phone in screen-away position, I get the hand-writing mode automatically selected. I'm only able to input Braille in table mode. Has anyone had this same issue? Am I missing something (I'm quite new to IOS)? And also, is there a way that I can prevent hand-writing mode to be selected automatically?
Thanks a lot for your help!
