Hello everybody,

I guess my problem is very special but maybe someone can help me.

I have a virtual machine with Windows 7 on my mac. I work with OS X 10.10.4 and Fusion 7. I had an EasyBraille braille display till some months ago. This worked fine with Fusion 5 and works fine with Fusion 7 via usb.

is there a way to fix these issues?
• When I have the braillesense paied to the iphone, (but not connected), it will cause my phone to restart itself over and over until i forget the device in the bluetooth menu.
• when the braille sense is connected, it will make "Ethernet" come up, and often force my phone off the wi-fi onto mobile data, which is undesirable.

I have tried connecting through the braille menu in voiceover rather than the bluetooth menu, but the braille sense does not always show up, and I am not entirely sure if this fixes the issue.

I have an Orbit Writer and am having lots of difficulty pairing it with my Apple watch. My iPhone
is on Channel 1 and my Watch is on 2. When I go to 2, I’m having issues with it actually connecting to the keyboard even though it beeps once when I press
Space + Insert + 2. It says that I am connected to Blue-Tooth. Has anyone seen this and if so, how can I get around it? I’ve reported the issue to Orbit
Research and they told me to go to Apple Accesibility. Somehow I think I've got a faulty unit. I thought I would post here as well.

Hey guys! I'm running into a rather annoying bug with my Ipad, my display a Brailliant BI 40X, and... that's right, you guesed it... the Mail app. what's happening, is that when I write an email, if I skip 1 or 2 lines, and try and type something, the connection to the display just drops and then ispicked right back up. So, if I write: Hello! and skip a line or 2, and try to write: I'm having a problem with, I can't even type I'm fully before the connection issue starts.

Hi everyone,

I currently own a Perkins/Seika Mini braille display, and it’s the first-ever braille display I’ve owned and connected with my iPhone. I’m having a problem with the Mini, and was wondering if it was a bug iOS has with displays, or if it’s my actual device.

Hello Everyone! I have a question about the orbit reader 20 braille display. In contracted braille input, how do I write numbers? For some reason, it is not letting me write numbers in this input. I have to switch to the eightDot braille for this to take afect. I am also wondering how do delete something in the contracted braille input?

Hello gang!!
I recently acquired books in epub format. I'd like to read them with BARD Mobile, so I converted them to .doc format with RoboBraille, to then be able to convert them into Braille.
After this, I went back to RoboBraille and tried to convert them into Braille and got stuck. First of all I don't know what format to choose when presented with the dialogue box; any help with this would be appreciated.
Also if anyone knows of any alternatives to RoboBraille, I'd love to hear about them.
Thanks in advance,
Ali

Hi all,
Previously I looked at some general writing apps for the iphone but they either didn't export the markdown to windows or documents such as voice dream writer and ia writer but now I am designing my own website and would like to be able to write in markdown and sync between windows and ios.
Does anyone know whether simplenote works with Braille displays or can anyone recommend an app which lets you type and navigate using a braille display only.
I don't want to pay for it as I will mostly be using my pc.

Hi, all. I don't think I have posted this info to the forum. I have contacted Humanware about this and suggested a workaround that one of my students and I discovered. The enter key on the Brailliant BI X series would routinely bring up the context menu on the iDevice. I would need to dismiss it with a double-tap gesture and then find the enter key on the on-screen keyboard, which may or may not be visible. Not handy, at all! We discovered that if we toggled the onscreen keyboard on (or off). with spacebar with dots 1 4 6, then we could successfully press the enter key.

Hi all,
I use a BI14 with my Ipad and an Orbit reader 20 with an I phone 7.
Since I have updated to IOS 14 the cursor jumps around like anything in the body/subject field when I write an Email within the mail app only.
Although this did occur in ios 13 it seems to be worst as words get jumbled together.
Anyone else noticed this?

Does anyone know if it is possible to add a custom braille table to iOS? I ask because some material I read has pronunciation punctuation marks that have no braille equivalent in UEB. Because of that a very long disgusting looking character string is displayed in braille in the middle of names and words. It's pretty much impossible to read them with that mess in the middle. I worked hard to replace those characters in the punctuation dictionary for speech, but don't know how to accomplish a similar thing for braille. any help or suggestions appreciated.

Hello all,

I find the cursor of an active or link element highlighted with the dots 78 on my braille display hard to read.

I looked through the VoiceOver utility to see if it's possible to customize the cursor, like I could in JAWS, but don't see it any where in the utility. Does it offer the ability to customize the cursor's appearence on the braille device?

Happy Holidays!

Hi Folks. I’ve recently taken delivery of a Brailliant bix 20 and I love it but a few issues are cropping up and I’m not sure if it's user error or a bug so please bear with me.

Firstly, I am in the UK and have found the UK braille table Liblouis to be pretty awful when inputting in Braille so have added unified English to my list. However, I don’t seem to be able to change my default table to this and it keeps switching back to UK. Is there anything I can do about this or is it because my language and region are Uk? It's driving me nuts.

If you 1. type a few words with a braille display. 2. start to erase the text, the characters you're erasing aren't read out to you. Please test and report this!!! This is a bug that should've been caught before any piece of software went out the door. If anyone has a workaround, let me know!

Where in the manual does it tell you how to delete by word, line, sentence, etc. I have searched and can't find it.
