Hi. How do you enter a capital letter using braille screen input with uncctracted braille? Thanks.

Apologies if this topic has already been covered, but I tried searching the site and came up empty. I know there is a way to enter emojis using BSI, because I've done it accidentally, but I was wondering if anyone had a guide to this or if they knew how to reliably do it? I tried duplicating my mistake and could only get the one emoji, and I can't even do it anymore now, but I know it must be doable. I use contracted US braille, as I hate UEB, but I'm not sure how that should matter. Any help would be appreciated.

I can't enter alphanumeric passwords with numbers on the lock screen using the on-screen Braille keyboard. For example, if the passcode were abc123, I use to type abc#123. Now, I immediately get a wrong passcode attempt when I type the # sign. This doesn't seem to happen anywhere else. Is there some setting I can change to fix this, or do I just change my password?

Okay, I must be missing something here. I'm unable to enter my passcode using my HumanWare Brailliant BI 40X braille display connected to my iPad.

If I enter my passcode by hand, or with my Bluetooth keyboard, then switch to the Brailliant, everything works fine. I can use the Braillian to interact with the iPad, read texts, select buttons, change settings, etc. The Brailliant works. Just not when entering my passcode.

Hi all. wondering if anyone can help me? when trying to enter passwords in to, for example, ITunes, using my Braile display and an Iphone 5 I find I am unable to. When I am in the box, I enter the password, which appears briefly on my display before being replaced by symbols presumably to denote that the password is hidden on screen? the problem is, it seems to enter far more symbols than there should be for the password and the password is then not accepted. does anybody else have trouble entering passwords on Braille displays or is there something specific I need to do?

So I have a password with both letters and numbers. The problem is that my password is letters and numbers and I don't know how to enter those because iOs assumes that I want to type numbers when switching to letters. Is there a workaround?ts

Hi guys,
Has anyone noticed that sometimes, if you are in a secure text field such as a password field, when you try to type your password with your braille display, nothing happens?
I've tested this both on my phone itself and websites, but the problem seems to persist.
Basically, the password is typed, but then it shows up in word form, not in asterisk form. One second later, the field clears itself as if you never typed.
If anyone else has this issue, do you know a work-around?
Thanks!

I am trying to pair my BrailleNote Apex with my IPhone 5S and can't seem to make it work. The first couple times I did it it said can't connect please make sure the apex is ready to connect and the password is correct. Now it is saying can not load driver for Apex. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all. I just received this and was asked to share it here. Apologies in advance if this is in the wrong forum. This is from the folks at iPhoneArena, and was posted by a fellow AppleVis user. I'm not a braille user, but I might at some point take it up time permitting.

Hi, I have the Brailliant 40 X Braille Display. I have a question: is there a command to exploring by touch? like we dooing with the finger on the screen? I have't find any efernces on Apple's website. Sometimes there is an app that the flicking doesn't working as expected.

Hi, all. I hadn't connected my Brailliant BI 40X in a couple weeks and just found that I am experiencing an unacceptable lag when scrolling through emails, for instance. Perhaps I've missed the memo, but is there a crazy bug going on here and when did this occur? I'm very disappointed with some Braille bugs lately and find it discouraging. At least I've found a workaround for the enter key not working on IOS with my Brailliant BI 40X. Toggle keyboard on and off, or off and on with dots 1 4 6 plus spacebar and the enter key works.

Hey everyone,

I’m looking to dive into a self-help workbook and want to make the most of it by taking notes along the way. I’m using an iPhone 13 mini and a HIMS BrailleSense Polaris. Could you recommend the best apps for reading workbooks and taking notes that would work well with my setup? Any tips on making the process smoother would also be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Hello, I am looking to buy a braille display to use with my iPhone and Mac. I want it to be portable but not necessarily to small, and want it mostly for reading and learning how to spell in new languages I am learning.
I have not used a braille display before and are overwhelmed by the many brands and models there are. Also I live in Peru, so I don't have access to them to test them for myself.
I was wondering is you could help me figure out which braille display would best soot my needs, or if there are resources dedicated to comparing and reviewing displays.

So, the subject probably sums it up, but I'll explain a little more. I'm looking for a Braille display that will connect both to my iPhone and Windows 7 computer. I use NVDA as my screen reader, so I would like support for it. I have been considering the APH Refreshabraille 18, as well as the Eurobraille Esys 12 or 24. I also just came across the Optelec EasyLink 12, although I'm not sure if that has cursor-routing buttons or not.

Hi. Is there a way to use first letter navigation when using iOS with a braille keyboard? If there is, how is it done? Thank you.

After a helpful debug session with Apple Accessibility, turning off Screen Recognition has fixed the random cursor jumps while composing emails with a braille display. I hope this helps anyone else having similar issues.

Will the Focus 14 display the time in refreshable Braille?

Post Date:

Hi All,
New to using a braille display on my iPhone13 pro. So set up perfect. However, I tried in the braille settings to change from uncontracted 8 dot braille to contracted braille. Issue is that Nothing appears on the screen for any setting apart from uncontracted 8 dot braille. Even uncontracted 6 dot braille just leaves the output blank. So, if I choose any other output setting is there another setting I need to choose or is this a bug meaning you are stuck with the output of uncontracted 8 dot braille? Any help appreciated as it is very odd.

Hi! I'm using the 4th generation Focus 14 Blue with an iPhone SE running IOS 11.3.1. For as long as I've been using the Focus (about six months now), I've encountered a problem with form fields on certain sites in Safari. I attempt to input text with the Focus's keyboard, and it disappears as soon as I exit the form field with either the dot 4 chord or the dot 1 chord. In many of these instances, I am unable to tab or shift-tab at all. I tried updating my firmware to 5.90 (as was suggested in another thread), but the 4th generation Focus can't be updated past 5.71.

I just got a Focus 14 Blue recently. I absolutely love it, but I've found a major problem and would love to know how to fix it. I can read to the end of the current page on Kindle, but I can go no further with the Focus. How do I get to the next page and keep reading? turn pages when panning is on in the Braille settings in voice over. I use IOS 11.2.1. Thank you.
