I am using a braillenote apex, and I can't seem to delete something i've typed by pressing the backspace key on the braillenote. Using this particular device as a braille display, how do I delete something that I've typed in to an edit box?
I have the latest iOS on my iPhone 7 and iPad. I can not use any of the keys on my braille notetaker to navigate and to type. They work fine for very short time once my braille display is connected. The only thing that gets them back to work is either turning off VoiceOver then switching it back on, or locking then unlocking my device.
I encounter the same issue on both my iPhone and iPad.
When we are using a Braille Edge as a refreshable braille display using VoiceOver with an iPad running iOS 12, we can get the text being typed on the 6 key braille input to speak through Voice Over but we are not able to get the text to show up in any of the apps that we are using.
Can anyone provide advice or assistance in how we overcome this?
I am using a Focus 40 Blue with an IPhone 4s. I want to be able to take notes without being disturbed by phone calls and the like. Turning on the "Do Not Disturb" and turning airplane mode on turns off the bluetooth . Does anyone have any ideas as to how the IPhone can work with a braille display and not receive such disturbances?
Hello Everyone,
I just discovered taht almost all books done in Braille format in English language are created in contracted Braille, and the same thing ahhpens with GErman. AS I don't know this contracted Braille, I wonder me if perhpars there is a program in the App Store and so usable with Mac or perhpas with Iphone as well which allows to converti from contracted into uncontracted Braille in order to e abel to read books with my Braille display.
If you have any other idea, it would be wellcome, of course.
Many thanks in advance. and goodnight.

I am working with a Deafblind client who uses EasyReader. I downloaded the app, which seems to work well with Voiceover, but I found no mention of braille in the user guide. Does this app work well for braille-only users? If not, any suggestions?
Hi all,
This is attempt #2 at posting something on here. So I have a Brailliant Bi 20X and I really like it for the most part. I'm having this annoying issue where when I go to send a message in the Messages app and I press dot 8 to send the message, it doesn't send it. Instead a context menu comes up with 2 options. The options are paste and scan text. What is going on here? The strange thing is that the command works perfectly fine on my Focus 40. Is there any way to fix this annoying issue?
Thank you all in advance!
Hello.
I use my braille display a lot and love it but there is one thing I cannot figure out.
Is there a way to double tap and hold using braille display, like it does on an external keyboard?
Hi,
Does anyone know how to perform the Double-Tap With Two Fingers gesture on a Braille keyboard? So, this would pause and play music, restart video playback etc. Thanks :-)
Hi all,
I have two questions:
1. I decided to try drafts writing app as byword keeps uninstalling itself from the Iphone.
Now, I can type on it fine with my Braille display but according to previous comments on here it is meant to sink to I cloud however the document doesn't appear on I cloud on windows in my drafts folder have checked all sub-folders.
Equally how do uyou do headings.
Using a Focus Blue 5th Generation Braille Display, is it possible to edit documents by word, etc., on an iPhone or iPad? Is it accurate that the Focus Blue Braille Displaye scratchpad cannot be used to edit or save documents using an IOS device?
I've just started using my braillenote apex as a display with my macbook. Normally (before I started using the display) when editing text in Textedit I switch quicknav off and, when reviewing the text, I cursor up and down line by line through the text with cursors up and down, not the voiceover cursor.
I'm wondering if anyone has any tips to make editing in braille a smoother experience. Currently, when I try to insert letters in a word, or correct a miss typed braille symbol, the word I typed gets translated, but so does other parts of the word. Sometimes, new words will be added or moved around even though I wasn't working on them. Unfortunately, this makes editing in braille practically impossible, which removes one of the primary use cases for a braille display.
Hi folks, I'm curious if iPads allow you to use eight dot Braille commands in BSI command mode? I use it a fair bit on my iPhone but find not being able to jump around by containers in safari for example fairly limited. I noticed if I get into the container with the address bar I can do a BSI search as a find function for the whole page but in the actual web site it's stuck on the quick nav options. Being able to quickly move containers without the rotor in command mode would help a ton, so much that I may want an iPad for that alone. Thoughts?
Having a bit of a wierd one. Current home confinement has given me the opportunity to get myself back into Braille but I am having issues with email addresses using 6 dot uncontracted British english Braille on my iPhone XS using the focus 14 blue 5th edition. When not typing an email address I can do a full stop/period :) using dots 2,5,6 with no issue but if I am trying to do a full stop in an email address it seems to put in the number 4 which I find a bit wierd. Any help greatly appreciated.
