whenever I set the VoiceOver rotor to read by line, for example, in long paragraphs on webpages or emails, VoiceOver omits the first character at the beginning of any given line except for the first line of a paragraph. It happens only if reading by line in forward direction, as previous lines are correctly read in full, with some exceptions detailed below.
I have a question about VoiceOver’s behavior when tracking updates on a focused item. I’m using the Echo app during my workouts, and there’s a feature I really love – being able to ask Siri for my heart rate. It’s super convenient, and I use it all the time. However, what I found even cooler was that I could place my VoiceOver focus on the heart rate display, and it would automatically read out the changes to me throughout the workout. This meant I could listen to my music while still staying informed about my heart rate.
I'm using IOS9 and would like to know if anyone else has encountered the below Voiceover bug. I have reported it to apple accessability but they say they can't reproduce it and to contact apple care.
when I switch to another keyboard language on iOS 9 using a Bluetooth keyboard, VoiceOver still behaves as if the language was not changed until VoiceOver is turned off and on again. However, this problem affects only the VoiceOver related features such as VoiceOver keyboard shortcuts, keyboard help, or search in window items activated with VO + F. Otherwise, for example, in text fields or when using app keyboard shortcuts, the change of the keyboard language is respected properly and immediately.
Good morning,
Ever since I installed iOS 17.1.1, I’ve been having an issue where voiceover refuses to say the word search.
This issue occurs in three different places. The App Store, the podcasts app, and the Mona app.
I even went so far as to restore both my phone and iPad, But that did not help.
Both devices are running the same version of the operating system and exhibiting the same behavior.
Does anyone know what might be going on here?
Hi,
There is a bug where if I type in something, VO remains silent. My typing feedback is set to Characters and Words and it still doesn't work. Rebooting my device solves nothing. Is this a bug that you people are having as well? Hopefully Apple fixes it.
Hi. I have an iPhone 12, latest update of the OS. I don't know if I accidentally turned something off, but when I'm texting someone, I hear the sound the phone makes that indicates that a message is coming in, but VoiceOver is not speaking the messages while focus is in the text field. I have to look backward to read the messages. What can I do to figure out the issue?
My camera was working fine this morning. Voiceover would speak all elements as I flicked to them and activated them with a single finger double tap.
Suddenly, now when I get into my camera app, Voiceover is totally unresponsive as I move my finger around the screen and/or flick left/right. I hear little clicks, but nothing else.
Voiceover is working as it should with all other apps.
I have been using the voiceover on my iPod touch 5 iOS 6 for two months, and it has been working perfectly fine.
Today, the keyboard started to not work properly. The double tap feature doesn't work on the keyboard, and every time I touch a letter, it gets inserted without double tapping. What can I do to fix this problem?
Thanks a lot,
Zaina
Hi everyone. I installed iOS 5.11 on my 4s and when I'm on a call, I can't do anything with the keypad unless i go back to the home screen and the speaker comes on. Can anyone please help?
I am having a problem with my iPhone 6 when I'm using voice over, the keypad doesn't make any sounds when I try to use the keypad with voice over to make calls.
Is their a way I can resolve this please? I did speek to apple, but they don't know how to resolve this situation.
I have also gone to westfield stratford city in the united kingdom to the apple store their, but they were not sure either.
I just purchased an Apple Watch, Series 6. I also have an iPhone 10S. Youtube on the iPhone worked perfectly in the morning on my iPhone, but once i got my Apple Watch and synced it to the iPhone, VoiceOver no longer interacts with Youtube.
Hi
Just letting everyone know that after the latest YouTube update, voiceover will not be able to access the action menus with the rotor item, the action buttons are next to the videos, and next to the notifications in the notification section, double tapping on these action buttons will bring up the same menu, that the actions in the rotor did, for me, I don’t really care because this is exactly how it’s laid out on android so it’s easier for me because I don’t have to think about it as much
On my work iphone 6 and my personal Iphone 5s the voiceover sounds very computerised suddenly. I have it on the British english voice as I am in the UK instead of it sounding natural and fluid like it always did everything sounds muffled and very computerised. It can't be the speaker as my work iphone 6 is brand new and my iphone 5s does the same thing. Even my wife's iphone 5s has it when I borrowed it and turned voiceover on. Has anyone else experienced this problum and even better do you know of a fix?
.
I have an iPad. When I turn VoiceOver on touching screen doesn't work. Hello all,
I find myself struggling with Voiceover on my new iPad. I am quite comfortable with VO on my iPhone but with the increased form factor on the iPad and its different layout with multiple panes etc. I find it difficult to navigate some of my favorite apps like News, Podcast, Downcast etc. Are there some basic stuff I need to understand for navigating comfortably on the iPad? Any settings that will make my life easier? Any help will be welcome.
Thanks/
Hello,
I have just unboxed my iPad mini -- pressed the power button...turned on the voice over by pressing the home button thrice, and completed the set up. I have been using iPhone for a while now -- currently have a 4S, but I have noticed that the voice on the iPad is somewhat different, it is kind of high pitch and not very clear. Do I need to make changes in the settings in order for it to sound like my iPhone?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

After the latest update of the app to my homebanking, now VoiceOver on my iPhone translate numbers to letters, e.g. when I read character by character, and if I lets VoiceOver read the informations on the hole screen.
The number 3.228,63 is translated to the text three thousand two hundred and twenty-eight comma six three.
If you look visually on the screen, and also take a Picture via the build in option, the number is written with numbers. My homebanking support has not heard about this problem before for sighted people.
I use my Mac for all tasks that require any kind of writing of any length, including texts and E-mails. I have always found the text editing experience on IOS with VoiceOver to be somewhat lacking. Therefore, I have not used a keyboard with my iPhone in many years. I recently pared my Magic Keyboard with my iPhone, to see if and how things have changed. I have gotten mixed results. Everything works as expected in Messages. In Notes, when editing, when arrowing up and down, VO reads the entire paragraph, not the lines.
