iOS and iPadOS

Hi there.

I'm developing a web application and stumbled upon a strange situation when testing with VO on iOS17. For some reason my button controls receive focus, however when I attempt to activate them with single finger doubletap nothing happens.

We specifically used native HTML5 <button> controls to facilitate accessibility, yet for some reason it is not working as expected.

Wondering if this group has any idea what the culprit may be?

Thx!

Hello there, I just got an iPhone 11 and I love it, but I do not understand why voice over do not read the preview off the notifications on lock screen. It only Tells me where the notification is coming from. For example if I receive a text message, it says “messages,” but it won’t tell me from whom or what’s on the message’s preview. does anybody has an idea what can I do to fix this? I have try some stuff on settings likeHaving the alerts on voiceover settings on, having restarted the phone, ET see. Thank you in advance.

The latest version of Trivia Crack appears to be completely inaccessible. I can't even find my turn where the list of games are that I'm supposed to take my turn and it keeps kicking me out to the home screen. Thoughts?

Hi there to one and all, I’m sure some of you are having this issue but are there any workaround for using messenger app on the iPhone. When I want to send a message to a friend of mine on my messenger contacts, I can find the name but when I flick around to where to type the message and the type text field it just keeps saying “loading“ does anybody have a workaround as such. I’m using the iPhone 12 mini with the latest iOS version with VoiceOver.
Look forward to hearing your responses and have a good day :)

In a lot of iPhone apps, if I am reading through a list of entries and then click on one to read the details, when I hit Back to go back to the list, I am placed all the way back at the beginning of the list. Is there some setting I'm not aware of that can remedy this. Examples of apps where this happens include Facebook, Voicebook, e-mail--seems to me it hasn't always been this way. It's very time-consuming and frustrating.

Hi all,
I hope all of you are doing well.

This happened a week or 2 weeks ago and it didn't stop since.
Voiceover keeps saying direct touch no matter where I'm at on my phone. It doesn't matter if I'm on the home screen or in a specific app.

I tried disabling all of the apps that were selected in roter actions/direct touch but that didn't do anything. I tried restarting my phone, but that didn't do anything either.
I also tried updating to the latest version but no luck either.

Any idea what can I do.

Hi all. Got a quick question for you.

Hello! I recently obtained Logitech k380 keyboard and attached it to my iPhone running latest iOS.
Everything works fine, except one very annoying issue.

Hello,
When I plug my iPhone 5 into my windows laptop, I have received a message about a voiceover kit update. Is this meant to be for iPods instead of iPhones?
If there is a true update for iPhones how do I bring this option up on command again rather than wait for the dialog to come up again?
I also have a Mac desktop so how do I bring this up using that too?
Thanks in advance.

I recently got a pair of AirPods for my new iPhone 8 and I'm loving them for listening to music, browsing YouTube etc, but trying to type with VoiceOver while wearing them is tedious. I find that there's a noticeable lag when using the on-screen keyboard, meaning there is a short pause between my finger touching a character on the keyboard and VO announcing that character, making it extremely hard to type. Has anyone else experienced this issue and found a solution? These things weren't cheap so I'm really hoping something can be done. Thanks.

Hi,
I have a new iPad Pro 11“ since four days and have the following problem:
In lists, e.g. In Messages conversations list in the messages App, VoiceOver laggs a bit if I swipe really quickly through the list or use the Smart Keyboard and a Braille Display to navigate through. Before, I had an iPad Pro 9,7 and the problem is that the iPad Pro 11 feels like it have a slower performance than my 3-year-old iPad Pro 9,7. What should/can I do to fix this?

Hi everyone,

I have some weird problems with VoiceOver, and I'm wondering if there might be any kind soul out there who knows how to fix things.

I notice quite a lot of latency with VoiceOver even when nothing is running and I'm using internal speaker or headset. 1: I can briefly touch an item on the home screen and move my hand quite a distance away before VoiceOver announces it.
2: Dragging around the screen often has delays.
3: Sometimes nothing happens when I touch the screen. It seems confused. I have to stop touching the screen for a while for it to work again.

I do not remember such delays in iOS 7.

Does anyone else's VoiceOver loch up on safari when you're navigating or reading by flicking right in succession? VoiceOver seems to loch up and then return to the top of the page where it will turn back on and say VoiceOver on".

I have an iPod Touch 5th Generation and I am running iOS 8.02. I have the Accessibility shortcut of triple tapping the Home button to turn Voiceover on and off. Ever since loading iOS 8, there are times when I will hit Home once and I get the message "Voiceover off." If I triple tap Home again, it usually comes back on. Also, it sounds as if Voiceover turns on and off as some apps are loaded. I will hear "Voiceover off" the app will load and I will hear "Voiceover on."

Hello all,

A couple of days ago, I found a new VoiceOver shortcut on iOS called: "move to related content". This command can be executed by performing two fingers flick right or by pressing VO + j on a Bluetooth keyboard. I've tried this out on a couple of different screens: Home screen, Safari, Mail, Etc., however it doesn't seem to work.

Does any body know the use of this new VoiceOver action and how it should be used?

Thanks in advance and best regards,

Alexandre Bellemare

Hi all,

When I plug my phone into my dad's car to charge, VoiceOver (and all sounds) mute themselves. I get this is supposed to happen, but I was wondering if there's a way on the phone itself to override the car and play sound through the phone's speakers. I've seen some posts on other sites that recommend plugging headphones in, but my recollection is that the same thing happens with any Bluetooth headphones you might be using. It would be nice if you didn't have to do something with the car to override this. This car ony has one port.

Hello,
so the other day while playing around on my IPhone, I've discovered 4 interesting VoiceOver gestures which are not mentioned anywhere, not assignable in VoiceOver's settings and also don't seem to work correctly. It is a shame, because they look potentially interesting. I was wondering if anybody ever remembers using them and if they worked correctly in the past / had a more meaningful purpose?

Hello all, Has anyone noticed that in iOS6 VoiceOver navigation tends to slow down in certain audio apps, like Korg' iKaosilator , Spotify and others? This is particularly noticeable on iPhone and iPods, not so much on the iPad. I am sure this is a VoiceOver issue, otherwise, the whole web would be screaming about it. Anybody else? Thanks, Victor
