VoiceOver Issue with Direct Touch

I am experiencing a persistent issue with the VoiceOver feature, particularly concerning its Direct Touch functionality, which is intended for use with non-compatible applications and games. The problem arises when previewing an image in the Quick Look feature within the Files app. As I swipe to locate the 'Done' button to exit Quick Look, VoiceOver's cursor, upon reaching an image object, inadvertently activates Direct Touch. This requires me to repeatedly disable and re-enable VoiceOver.

As of the latest version of the YouTube app, I'm experiencing a strange thing. I'll be using the app as usual with VoiceOver, and every few seconds VoiceOver will say "Button -- disabled" no matter where I touch on the app. I have enough sight to see that the app appears totally normal, and when I turn off VoiceOver the app responds normally to touches. It's almost like there's some invisible barrier between me and the user interface when this happens.

I am currently using the iPhone XR. Since updating to the iOS 14.4 software, I’ve been having a lot of problems using voice over. After ending a phone call, the speech stops working. I have to turn voiceover off turn it back on order for it to work. It’s been happening a lot lately. It began to happen when I updated the software to the 14.0. They keep telling me that it is a software issue. I don’t think it is anymore. Is anyone here having the same problem as I am? If not, then that means I have to get a new phone.

Hi,
I’m new to applevis.
When in the TV app on iOS, the search suggestions buttons in the search tab are not accessible. Voiceover just says button, without saying what they are. Is anyone else having this issue? I’ve reported it to Apple Accessibility.

I’m just copy/pasting the contents of an email I sent to the Apple accessibility team a moment ago. If you are also experiencing these problems, I encourage you to do the same. Thanks.

Hi,

I’m experiencing the following new VoiceOver issues on my iPhone SE2 running iOS 14.3. Please let me know if you need further clarification on these. Thanks.

I've been facing serious issues on my iPad 4 running iOS 7.0.4. I got a list of folders on the home screen that contains a bunch of apps. I couldn't launch, move or delete some apps in a folder, double tapping the screen to perform an action closes the folder. Switching pages inside a folder does not view the list of available apps. I reset the homescreen layout on my iPad and launched each app individually and things worked properly. Has any one experienced this?

Hello everyone,
I have noticed a serious VO issue in a few Apps, and it seems to be spreading. (I apologize if this has been addressed somewhere else.) Specifically, in the app store and audible, VO seems to get stuck while navigating by swiping. The focus jumps to the top of the screen and will only move a few items at a time before jumping back. I have also noticed that general reading performance in the app story has made it virtually unusable. I wanted to see if anyone else has run in to these issues and or found a work around.
Thanks.

Hi there.

I'm developing a web application and stumbled upon a strange situation when testing with VO on iOS17. For some reason my button controls receive focus, however when I attempt to activate them with single finger doubletap nothing happens.

We specifically used native HTML5 <button> controls to facilitate accessibility, yet for some reason it is not working as expected.

Wondering if this group has any idea what the culprit may be?

Thx!

Hello there, I just got an iPhone 11 and I love it, but I do not understand why voice over do not read the preview off the notifications on lock screen. It only Tells me where the notification is coming from. For example if I receive a text message, it says “messages,” but it won’t tell me from whom or what’s on the message’s preview. does anybody has an idea what can I do to fix this? I have try some stuff on settings likeHaving the alerts on voiceover settings on, having restarted the phone, ET see. Thank you in advance.

The latest version of Trivia Crack appears to be completely inaccessible. I can't even find my turn where the list of games are that I'm supposed to take my turn and it keeps kicking me out to the home screen. Thoughts?

Hi there to one and all, I’m sure some of you are having this issue but are there any workaround for using messenger app on the iPhone. When I want to send a message to a friend of mine on my messenger contacts, I can find the name but when I flick around to where to type the message and the type text field it just keeps saying “loading“ does anybody have a workaround as such. I’m using the iPhone 12 mini with the latest iOS version with VoiceOver.
Look forward to hearing your responses and have a good day :)

In a lot of iPhone apps, if I am reading through a list of entries and then click on one to read the details, when I hit Back to go back to the list, I am placed all the way back at the beginning of the list. Is there some setting I'm not aware of that can remedy this. Examples of apps where this happens include Facebook, Voicebook, e-mail--seems to me it hasn't always been this way. It's very time-consuming and frustrating.

Hi all,
I hope all of you are doing well.

This happened a week or 2 weeks ago and it didn't stop since.
Voiceover keeps saying direct touch no matter where I'm at on my phone. It doesn't matter if I'm on the home screen or in a specific app.

I tried disabling all of the apps that were selected in roter actions/direct touch but that didn't do anything. I tried restarting my phone, but that didn't do anything either.
I also tried updating to the latest version but no luck either.

Any idea what can I do.

Hi all. Got a quick question for you.

Hello! I recently obtained Logitech k380 keyboard and attached it to my iPhone running latest iOS.
Everything works fine, except one very annoying issue.

Hello,
When I plug my iPhone 5 into my windows laptop, I have received a message about a voiceover kit update. Is this meant to be for iPods instead of iPhones?
If there is a true update for iPhones how do I bring this option up on command again rather than wait for the dialog to come up again?
I also have a Mac desktop so how do I bring this up using that too?
Thanks in advance.

I recently got a pair of AirPods for my new iPhone 8 and I'm loving them for listening to music, browsing YouTube etc, but trying to type with VoiceOver while wearing them is tedious. I find that there's a noticeable lag when using the on-screen keyboard, meaning there is a short pause between my finger touching a character on the keyboard and VO announcing that character, making it extremely hard to type. Has anyone else experienced this issue and found a solution? These things weren't cheap so I'm really hoping something can be done. Thanks.

Hi,
I have a new iPad Pro 11“ since four days and have the following problem:
In lists, e.g. In Messages conversations list in the messages App, VoiceOver laggs a bit if I swipe really quickly through the list or use the Smart Keyboard and a Braille Display to navigate through. Before, I had an iPad Pro 9,7 and the problem is that the iPad Pro 11 feels like it have a slower performance than my 3-year-old iPad Pro 9,7. What should/can I do to fix this?
