voiceover freezes when trying to close amazon from app switcher

I'm running ios 13.6 on an iPhone8, when I use amazon and try to go to the app switcher to close it after I'm finished using it voiceover freezes and I have to go in and out of the app switcher several times before voiceover responds again. This is the only app I'm noticing this with. I'm using the regular amazon shopping app.
Anyone noticing this behavior?

Amazon is a garbage app. It's garbage on Android as well. Even my brother, who is sighted, says the Amazon app for iPhone is quite slow, so it's not just us.

I don't think it is just the Amazon app which causes VO to freeze Up. I notice this among several of my apps. I also find I must wait for what seems like an extraordinary long time before VO responds again. One thing that I have started doing is to simply hit the power button to lock the phone. I wait for a couple of seconds and then unlock the screen. For the most part it seems to resolve the issue. This behavior started happening to me with the release of iOS 13.

Here's to hoping that Apple resolves this bug soon.

Using iOS 13.6, 11 pro max. I just open amazon app and prime app. I went to close both and no issues. Did all updated the apps? VO worked well and it was fast closing both apps.

Hello,
I am running iOS 13.6 on a iPhone 10S. I am not seeing any issues with either the amazon shopping app or prime video. They are both working fine.

Had terrible lag on Amazon app to the point where I couldn’t even navigate, close the app or turn off VO. Saw an Applevis Blog post with a similar problem and the solution was to switch VO voices. I’ve since done so and have had no lag at all.

I have the iPhone 12 Mini and even before that, when I had an iPhone eight, Amazon works great! No VO issues. Around my work, the joke is that Amazon is too accessible! Very easy to shop and you can use the voice search to request specific items. Works really well. And I highly recommend Amazon!

I don't use Amazon Shopping or Prime, but I have the companion app for the A-person. I'm using Fred as my current voice on an iPhone 7, and have occasionally noticed a lag and app refreshes some of the time. But it seems like this app is very good for the most part on my end. I think this app gets updated on a semi-regular basis, so perhaps try going to the app store and updating? In addition, https://www.amazonforum.com seems pretty good although I haven't really done much on there. Never thought about switching voices, but I'll do that and see what happens.

When I go to the app switcher and close Amazon I notice just sound in general stopping for a brief second. For example if you're playing music while doing so you'll sort of hear it skip and then continue. I'm not having the issue were voiceover just stops altogether.
