A couple of days ago, I found a new VoiceOver shortcut on iOS called: "move to related content". This command can be executed by performing two fingers flick right or by pressing VO + j on a Bluetooth keyboard. I've tried this out on a couple of different screens: Home screen, Safari, Mail, Etc., however it doesn't seem to work.
Does any body know the use of this new VoiceOver action and how it should be used?
When I plug my phone into my dad's car to charge, VoiceOver (and all sounds) mute themselves. I get this is supposed to happen, but I was wondering if there's a way on the phone itself to override the car and play sound through the phone's speakers. I've seen some posts on other sites that recommend plugging headphones in, but my recollection is that the same thing happens with any Bluetooth headphones you might be using. It would be nice if you didn't have to do something with the car to override this. This car ony has one port.
Hello,
so the other day while playing around on my IPhone, I've discovered 4 interesting VoiceOver gestures which are not mentioned anywhere, not assignable in VoiceOver's settings and also don't seem to work correctly. It is a shame, because they look potentially interesting. I was wondering if anybody ever remembers using them and if they worked correctly in the past / had a more meaningful purpose?
Hello all,
Has anyone noticed that in iOS6 VoiceOver navigation tends to slow down in certain audio apps, like Korg' iKaosilator , Spotify and others? This is particularly noticeable on iPhone and iPods, not so much on the iPad.
I am sure this is a VoiceOver issue, otherwise, the whole web would be screaming about it.
Anybody else?
Thanks,
Victor
IOS 9 and 10 clearly read the tempreture forecast on the BBC Weather APP but IOS 11 does not! It reads the word temp but not the figures. Very strange as it reads everything else! Rod
Ever since getting my iPhone 16 Pro and transferring everything over from my old SE 3, VoiceOver has stopped speaking when in a phone call, won't speak when focusing on incoming call info, and won't even speak when focusing on all of the buttons in the power screen after squeezing the power button and volume up buttons together.
I just updated to iOS 11 and am running an iPhone 6S. Since the update, VoiceOver does not always announce my notifications, whether the device is locked or unlocked. I have it set to show previews always in the notification center. Once, when I rebooted the phone and it restarted, it did announce notifications for awhile but then stopped again. I was wondering if this is a bug or if anyone else has experienced this issue or if there is another setting that I need to change. Thanks.
In the latest IOS18.3.2... When I swipe up to app switcher and there are no apps open, my iPhone 16E just vibrates. It does not say "app switcher has no items" anymore. Is this a bug? Also, when I unlock my phone, it just vibrates. It used to play an unlock sound that kind of sounded like a camera plunk sound, but different. Is there a way I can get this sound back? My phone is not on mute or silent, the mute switch is turned off in control center.
I have noticed since installing iOS 8.3 that voiceOver does not announce on/off labels. For example, it does not say "Share my location, on or off," in iCloud. This is frustrating as I need to know whether something is on or off. This applies elsewhere as well.
Website previews in Facebook posts are not being announced by voiceover as of of the past several weeks. This is true whether you are in the newsfeed itself or if you double tap to open the post to interact with it. You will hear the name of the Facebook user or page, The date of the post and the summary or caption they’ve typed as part of the post, but if they’ve included a link to a website, this is not announced at all.
After updating my iphone to 8.2, voiceover doesnt announce that my phone is starting up on startup. Is anyone else experiencing this? Is it a setting i can change?
Hello, I am having a problem with my I phone 6 which I receieved at the end of last month, the keypad doesn't make a tone when I dial phone numbers, I have done everything that Apple United Kingdom have advised me to do, but it still doesn't work. is their something wrong with the device or do I need to go in to an apple store to get this sorted? I did go in to an apple store, but the member of staff didn't have a clue as to what the problem was.
I would be grateful, if someone can get back to me.
Just checking to see if anyone has noticed a weird bug with whatsapp. When trying to use the slide up to lock voice recording, voiceover used to read the buttons that appear like pause recording, send, cancel etc. Now when I lock a voice recording, the send button will be visible for a few seconds but will then disappear. Voiceover can only navigate around in the message thread but you are then locked in the recording mode and can't cancel, pause or send the recording. Voiceover seems to think those buttons are gone.
Hello applevis users.
I ran across a problem the other day. I got a incoming call on my watch and my hphone of course, I was trying to see who was calling using voiceover on my phone but it was like my phone was muted I had the switch on mute when I flipped it from mute on, to mute off, then my voiceover speech came back. have any of you ran into this I'm running IOS 10.2, so when the ophone was on silent mode I couldn't hear the speech when the call came in.
I'm running iOS 15.1 on an iPhone 10R. When composing an email or text message, or when creating a new note (Notes app), I occasionally want to add an emoji. The emoji shows up in the text area but VoiceOver is not reading what the emoji is. Never had that problem before. May be new with 15.1. Anyone else having this issue? Thanks
I just upgraded to version 65 and found that Voiceover no longer reads page titles, addresses or previews anymore. Touching the entry in the news feed announces the poster's name (Rolling Stone, or NPR, for example) and any text in the post itself, but nothing at all about the link. I thought maybe double tapping to open the post would help, but even when in the screen with the post, page info is not spoken. This is a major accessibility problem and needs to be reported asap.
I upgraded to an iPhone 6s Plus and I bought a simple case with a door to protect the screen. I have been encountering a very strange problem. When the screen is locked and I close the door that protects the screen, I can hear the sound that alerts me of incoming notifications, but VoiceOver doesn’t read them. If the door is open, VoiceOver behaves normally and reads the notifications. Has anyone encountered this behaviour?
