question about using a braille display with an iOS device

Braille on Apple Products
I currently own a brailleNote apex, and use that as my notetaker and reading device. At some point, I intend to get away from the dedicated notetakers, and just use a braille display with an iPad. Here's my question. One of the things I do most with my notetakers is read books. I utilize the auto-advance aspect of the braille display, so the display advances on its own, at the speed I select. Is this possible using an iOS device? When I look at the commands for braille displays with iOS devices, I can't seem to find anything that suggest you can have your display automatically scroll through a document at a designated speed. Can someone shed some light on this?

There is not an auto-advance mode in iOS. The closest you can come to is a braille display that has key repeat. For example, the Focus 14 Blue has this. However, it moves by 'flick' not by panning, and so it is not practical for reading content.

too bad

That's too bad, because I'd really like to find a less expensive way to read digital braille content. I know that I could hook a braille display up to a computer, but that's just not as portable or convenient. My notetaker works for now, but I'd hate to have to shell out the money for another one, when this one is no longer working. These devices are just way too expensive.
