Which braille display would you recommend? I'd like to have about 20 cells, it should be a rougged device, have a built in keyboard, and good battery life. I read so far about the esys24 which sounds like what I'm looking for. But I'm not sure about battery life.
Would this be a good choice or do you know of something else you could recommend? Thanks a lot for your feedback in advance!
Ben

When i enter my apple ID and password that all goes through with no prom. Then i get a code sent !my various devices which i allow. It tells me !enter my password followed "the verificN code, which i have done, and then tab !continue but then nothing happens. Is this because you need !use nemeth code or -puter braille for this? If this is the case, I have no idea about either of those, so woddered if anyone has had similar issues with this and can give a few pointers.

Hi everyone, I hope this message finds you all well. I just got my new Orbit Reader today, and it is awesome! I love it! However, I am having a major problem. In Windows, I have tried several different programs and no matter what I try, I can't seem to get good Spanish Braille translations. I got this Orbit Reader mostly for having a portable way to save, access, and read from sermons that I have already prepared, or will prepare in the future.

Hi,
Does anyone have experiences with the relatively new Help Tech Activator Braille display? It says it is especially designed for iOS devices, any clue if that is so and what it means? Any other general comments on the display overall? Thanks.

Hi all, I have just received from a friend of mine a braille display. It is the varioconnect 12 cells, and I can't pair it with my iPhone. I went to general / accessibility / voiceover / braille, turned the varioconnect on, and when I had to enter with the pimcode... no idea which is the pimcode. I tryed to find the manual of this brailledisplay, but at the baum website I found anything. Can someone point me directions to find the manual or teach me how to pair ir correctly? Thank you.

When I try using braille screen input on my iPhone SE, in landscape mode, it only recognises 5 fingers, not six. Is this a limitation of iPhone SE? It seems easier to use braille screen input on my iPad 10.2 inch device. Also how do I position my fingers on iPhone SE for screen away mode? It said like a print letter v in the article I read, but I do not know what a V looks like. So help with my braille screen input issues would be appreciated thanks.

I have no idea what I did, but somehow, when I am typing on my phone using the Orbit Reader 20's braille keyboard, everything is in all caps. But when I am typing on the device in standalone mode, the letters are just as I need them to be. Nowhere in the user guide can I find the answer to this question, so if you have one, I will definitely appreciate it.

Since I updated my iPad to iOS 11, I am no longer able to type in Pages with my Refreshabraille. I can sometimes get in a couple of words and then it just stops responding. Does anyone else have this problem? If so, does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Hello AppleVis,
I upgraded to an iPhone 8 yesterday and have found that I am unable to pair my focus 14 Braille display with this device. It seems to think that the Braille display I want to pair is a keyboard I have previously paired with the phone.
When trying a RefreshaBraille I also have here, all went well. I would like to be able to use the focus because I find the key placement and action more useful. Thoughts?

Hello, I have had the Orbit Writer for a week and have paired it with my phone. I can send messages and emails and do supermarket shop online, but I can't work out how to write numbers in grade 2 Braille and how to make a low case into a capital. Perhaps there is a setting under Braille, but I haven't found anything so far. I would really appreciate some help. Thanks in advance. Ennis.

I just came back from Vision 2015 Conference at Baltimore run by Foundation Fighting Blindness. Since this conference was attended by many visually impaired people. So, there were lots of products like video magnifiers in the exhibit. I wasn't expecting to see Braille displays.

Just a heads up, but iOS 5.1 broke support for BrailleSense plus, and possibly others May want to check with your product manufacturer before you upgrade.

Hi all, this is my first post. I am a sighted person learning Braille. I have a blind penpal in Japan who is learning English and is happy to help me gradually learn Braille. We are currently trying to find a way that he can send me a Braille file that I can read.

He says that his usual file formats in Japan are not ones used by North Americans, so he found a way to send me a BRL file. I downloaded Braille Blaster, but it does not seem to see the BRL file (it's grayed out).

Any tips appreciated, thank you!

I know that there is a gest in imput Braille to do it, but unfortunately I cannot remember, pelase, could someone help me and tell me how is this finger movement?.
Many thanks in advance.

How do I use the Pages app and the Notes app with a braille display? How do I begin just typing? When I tried it, I found out through a sighted friend that there is a plus sign that VoiceOver isn't picking up on. I want to use these apps for job h hunting. I am using an iPad with a Focus 14 blue braille display with the latest version of IOS 10. Also, how do you convert Pages documents to Word documents?
