Hey Gregg -

Thanks for taking the time to send this email. You are totally right... this sounds like a great idea! We will add it to the plan.

Let us know if you have any other suggestions or ideas.

Thanks for giving Maslo a try.

Hi,
This is not a complaint, but a suggestion. I am blind and most all of the app is accessible by voiceover. However the main screen does not give any feedback with voiceover. The contact developer button does not workg with voiceover

Would you consider making your iPhone app accessible?
Thank you.

Hi All,

I'm a small indie developer creating a weather app called Weather Gods.

It's quite close to completion and I have been doing my best to make it accessible.

I'm about 70% complete and would love to get some feedback and hopefully make it into a very accessible app.

Let me know if you could possibly help me.

Many thanks
Scott

Hello, friends. I’m a graduate student working on an accessible app for my thesis project. Basically the app is a virtual docent for museums, especially interactive ones. I’d appreciate the chance to learn from you all about best practices in app development for low-vision accessibility, and specifically what you would like to see in an app that could help you explore a museum. If you’d like to learn more about the app, I will describe it below, and below that I’ll tell you what help I need. Hope that gives a roadmap to this long post.

Hi everybody,

I've made a free (and ad free) graphing calculator called Kalkyl that's available on the App Store (<a href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/kalkyl/id519933025">link to App Store</a>), and have been featured a few times.

Since the IPhone makes it so easy for blind users to take photos, I would like to see a feature in VoiceOver that would allow us to label photos. That way we could find particular photos to show others, and email, text, post to facebook, etc.

As a blind person who as self taught all my tech stuff, I'd like to find a way to learn html and to learn how to develop iOS apps. I'd prefer books or online courses or to trade work with someone... I'd also like to know what works best with Jaws or VoiceOver. Pat

hello,
I am trying to learn Swift on the Mac. I would like your suggestions on the following:
1) Is there an accessible text editor to edit test programs? Is vim accessible through plugins or configuration files? If so, How about TextWrangler?
2) I gave the Swift playground a try but just cannot figure out how I can access/view the results on Xcode. I can use the Swift REPL viaTerminal but it is not the greatest way to enter multiple lines of Swift code
3) Is there a good book or resource you can recommend for learning the language?

Thanks,
mani

Hi,
On my resolution list for 2020, I put, "Learn swift so I can create apps."
Does anyone know the best way to go about doing this with voiceover?
I've found a ton of Swift tutorials, but they all seem to be visual in nature, by making reference to the storyboard.

Thanks for any and all suggestions.

Hi all,

It's Joseph here. I have XCode on my mac, but have no idea how to program in swift or objective C. Can anyone give me some good (preferrably free) resources for learning these two languages? I'm a total newbie to programming, so I'll need all the help I can get.

Thanks,

Joseph King

Hi,
For a few years now, I’ve been interested in trying to learn Swift, using voice over on my Mac.
The problem is, I’m having a hard time trying to find beginner tutorials.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
I have Xcode on my computer, and was looking at it last night. I find it extremely confusing. If anyone could help with that as well, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi All,

In our weather app we have a spinner for when the weather data is loading. the spinner will keep spinning until the data returns on we have a time out.

What's the best way of approaching this from an accessibility point of view?

Got a couple of ideas:

1. Announce 'Loading' periodically

2. Have some audible feedback like the wheel spinning

Any other ideas?

Thanks
Scott

Hi all, I'm interested in creating an IOS app that helps blind and low vision users. I am blind myself, however I thought I'd ask you all what apps you would all like to see on the app store. Any ideas appreciated.

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping to hear from blind or low-vision developers who have real experience building apps or games, especially for iOS or mobile in general.

I’m blind and use VoiceOver on macOS. I’ve been trying to get into app/game development, but I’ve been running into repeated walls with tooling. I don’t mind learning or dealing with errors — that’s part of programming — but I’m struggling with workflows that feel extremely punishing and hard to iterate in accessibly.

Hi Guys,

I've been working on an app that will make you become the best version of yourself! Basically, it's a challenge app with a twist. But we are still in beta and looking for feedback from anyone who is willing to try it out. If you are interested, its a free app you can download in the App Store here: https://appsto.re/ca/7QX34.i

My goal is to obtain honest ( even harsh :P ) criticism from you guys. That way I can improve and build an app that will hopefully truly help you.

Hi Fellows!

Are you interesting in getting a work carrier in the gaming industry? Here a small opportunity to make a step forward towards that dream, and helping us at the same time to create fantastic audiogames. If you like writing fantastic stories, programming, designing, playing, composing and playing music, etc, and if you have some minutes, ja ja ja, keep reading.

Hello everyone,

I have been working on an iPad keyboard extension and I am now at a point where I am looking for some outside feedback.
I implemented VoiceOver support, but as a non-blind person I am sure to miss stuff that might be obvious for experienced accessibility users.
I hope to find interested people in this forum.

So.. what is the keyboard all about?

Hi, I'm a developer putting finishing touches to an application called "Clock in the Dark"

It's an app to set timers and alarms aimed for people with low vision or blindness. It does not use VoiceOver much, but instead is more like Siri, obeying voice commands. User interface consists currently of only one button.

Voice recognition accuracy is one question mark. It has a preference for US English, but does understand me well enough to be useful and I'm Finnish, although my English is pretty good.

Some of the current features are

Hi,

I'm putting a new coat of paint on Viskey, the traditional non-Braille keyboard.
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/viskey/id998451252

In particular, I'm concentrating my efforts on improving the automatic spelling correction, doing something similar to FlickType in that front, but also aiming to support other languages besides English.

Viskey tries to cater to low vision users who do not know braille, and who have some vision left. It also supports iPad.
