I’m developing a weather app, and would love some help with ensuring that it is fully accessible

App Development and Programming

Hi All,

I'm a small indie developer creating a weather app called Weather Gods.

It's quite close to completion and I have been doing my best to make it accessible.

I'm about 70% complete and would love to get some feedback and hopefully make it into a very accessible app.

Let me know if you could possibly help me.

Many thanks
Scott

Thanks Joann

Do you have an iOS device with iOS10?

If you do, then can you please email me feedback@weathergodsapp.com and let me know the email address to send the invite. I will then get you added and hopefully get a build to you today.

Hello! thank you for showing an interest in making accessible weather apps!

I tried finding weather apps & that was like pulling teeth!

You'd like suggestions & I have one or two for you!

1. Do not put your forecasts in tables!
Voiceover has problems with them 2ecause the hour is on one side & the forecast is on the other side. This includes the daily forecasts & any other forecasts you put in the app (UV. index etc)
The best way to remedy the iisue would be to put the forecasts in list form
For example it could go like this

12:00 Chance of showers & thunderstorms
Mostly cloudy with a high of 86 & a low of 70

That's just an example but I hope you see what I mean.

2. I think the best way to determine if your app is accessible, is to have people test it. I'm sure there are some people on here who would love to be a tester & see how accessible the app is.

Could you please post here when this app is completed? I'd really love to download it & see how it works if it's free &/or not too exuberentally priced! And I'm sure there are a lot of people on here who'd love to beta test.

Thank you again for showing an interest!!

Thanks for the info Dawn.

Thanks for the info Dawn.

Yes, I've steered clear of tables :)

Feel free to send me an email feedback@weathergodsapp.com if you fancy helping with the beta test
