So I'm investigating adding VoiceOver support to a solitaire card game app I'm developing, and I'm running into some trouble, and it was suggested that I post on this forum to perhaps get some help.
Are there any developers who have managed to use SpriteKit to make a game that is VoiceOver-capable?
I have a question about how voiceover should work with regard to scrolling and focus:
The app in question has a search control underneath the navigationBar. The search control is made up of a search bar, and underneath that a horizontally scrollable list of suggested tags.
Underneath the search control, the main content is made up of a list of results which is vertically scrollable.
Typing in the search box or tapping a tag will immediately filter the list of results.
In any software calculator Iβve used the ^ means βto the power ofβ. This doesnβt work in the iPhone calculator with a Bluetooth keyboard. Do you know what keystroke might indicate βto the power ofβ? Apple people donβt know!
I didn't see a good forum group for questions specific to HTML. The "App Development" group is probably more about writing native iOS apps in objective-c (or swift) but I'm writing applications in html5, css, and javascript. I'll post here anyway because it's the closest match.
Has anyone found a list of why a VoiceOver touch target loses its "touchiness"?
I never really touched the topic of Accessibility but I would like to create something outstanding, simple and inclusive. I don't know where to start but Maybe I could find someone here who could give me some insight, test out my app and help me to make it more Accessible
i'm matt, i'm one person in northern california and i built an iphone app called RealTime AI Cam. i emailed michael first and he gave me the ok to post it here and ask for feedback rather than just drop a link.
like most developers these days I use AI agents as part of my workflow, but I've never tried hands-off vibecoding an app from scratch. I have been learning to sing for half a decade, and take a braille display to lessons since it's easier to read lyrics than it is to have them spoken through an earpiece for example. It is pretty much my only use for braille these days.
Hi there everyone, hope all is well with you.
I'm looking to getting into iOS development and I'm looking for full-time blind iOS developers to answer my questions.
First, what kind of difficulties are expected in the hole process from A to Z?
Second, what resources do you recommend to learn the hole aspects of iOS development?
I hope to find answers here.
Thanks in advance.
Hi. I am completely blind and know nothing about programing. I have tried teaching myself html and have also tried teaching myself inform for wrighting text adventure games. I failed at both and can't even code a simple link in html. However, I think with some help and training, I can learn a programing language and I think learning how to develope for iOS will be more useful then html or inform. Do you think this can be done by a person like me and if yes, what are some getting started resources for very very beginners?
Hi, I'm a lawyer and I want to start learning to code as a new hobby. I am a mac user. Jaws. is the worst, so I'd love to never touch a PC again in my life. Are there any programing languages that are particularly good to learn as a mac user? Are there any that are off limits? Do I have any hope of being a programer someday? Do any of y'all have tech related careers?
Hello
Iβm interested in making my own Apple game.
How can I make it?
What code would I need?
How much will it cost?
How can I create a Developer account?
What are my next steps?
I have the app/game in mind in my head.
Using an M1 MacBook Air, 2020.
Hello. I updated to Xcode version 7.3 on my mac book air. I'm wondering, when Xcode is being updated, is it supposed to automatically download the iOS simulators? I see the simulators, and none of them downloaded automatically. However, my problem is that I see all the iOS simulators that I can download except for iOS 9.3. My mac book air has a 64 gigabyte SSD with 2 gigabytes of ram. Is anyone else missing the iOS 9.3 simulator? I don't understand why it's not listed as one of the iOS simulators available for download. I'm worried my computer is broken.
Hello World! I'm having difficulty learning the Swift programming language! I'm searching for a strategic migration plan to help me convert my knowledge of ANSI C into Swift on my iPhone 6S+.
Prior to my blindness, I had 28 years of software development in ANSI C. Please note that I am NOT talking about C++ nor C#!
I've been working on a cooking app for a year or two now and am getting close to wanting to release it from a feature completeness point of view at least. I'd hoped to release in time for Christmas but I realise now that this is not going to happen. A shame as my app would be very helpful in preparing the Christmas dinner!
I have for some time been looking for a controlled access manager for my IPhone. What I have in mind is an app which will accumulate info on all apps and related material on my phone, then allow me toeither select, or deselect, those apps which I do not wish other folks to access. I use my IPhone to create shopping lists for grocers and such. Often, I will want to stop off at the dli and the store clerk who is helping me is tied up waiting for me to get my order filled, waisting there work time.
I am helping an app developer to make the mobile page of his application accessible.
One issue we have found is that whenever we have an invisible control (visually), but reachable (with a screen reader), voiceover can't click on the element when the user performs a double tap.
This happens with text fields, buttons or links.
Has anyone ever encountered this issue and if there is a workaround?
Is there any recommended practices for implementing hidden controls that are clickable by voiceover?
Hello World! The online compilers of C/C++ & Swift now have improved VoiceOver support, based on my recommendations & suggestions! Here are the 3rd party apps I'm talking about:
Sedona Swift Compiler: In-app purchase to remove ads.
C/C++ Compiler: In-app purchase to remove ads.
Please note, these are online compilers and requires an Internet connection to compile.
Please do the in-app purchases to remove ads, as the developer will listen to your suggestions!
