Hello,
So I'm working with a person to develop an app. The app will show a 5x5 board, with various images on it. The images will be randomized from a set of 75, and you don't know which image will be where on the screen. So here's my question.

I want to know how to join the Apple Developer program? I have an iPhone SE and MacBook Air 13 inch.

Hi all,
I am using the latest version of Xcode (Xcode 10) to develop my first IOS App. So, I went to the object library to add a labile to the canvas and I found it there.
Normally, I pressed the VO keys and the space bar to add the labile to the canvas to write anything. The Voiceover says "Add item to the canvas". I went to the canvas and I found nothing there.

Hi,
I am still in the process of trying to learn Swift, so I can make apps.
I found a tutorial, that uses Swift 5.3, but am fully aware that 5.4 is the newest version available.
Can I still use tutorials that reference older versions of the programming language, or do they have to use the newest version?

Also when in Xcode, voiceover says, "no editor" then if I scroll down a little, it says, "add editor on right" so, i clicked on it, but nothing happened.
Do I need to add an editor to Xcode? If yes, how do I do it?

Hello there,
I am a very new swift developer, just learning the ropes. Forgive me for this question that may seem simple, but is really confusing me.
I'm currently developing a watch OS (only) app. There are 2 targets in my build: the WatchKit app and WatchKit extension.
I'm developing in Swift UI, however Swift UI doesn't allow for detecting shake so I'm resorting to UIKit and bridging the 2 views.

Hi! (This is my first post here, so apologies if this is the wrong forum for this question.)

I’m developing an iOS app for reading ePubs (and possibly other formats, like PDF). I’m currently working on making it as accessible as I can.

While working on this, I’ve noticed that behavior for line navigation can differ between apps. Some apps may navigate by paragraphs, others may navigate by what could visually be considered a line. What behavior do you actually prefer when navigating by lines?

Thanks!
Matt

Are there any good design guidelines for VoiceOver for iOS developers?

Apple's developer docs mostly cover elements that a developer can use to enable controls to be spoken by VoiceOver. However, it only provides design heuristics related to those elements (e.g. how to label a button and not use too many words).

For instance, I have a general question right now: "Should you announce the title of a new screen upon arriving there and any pertinent current state or let the user find out on their own?"

Hi,

I have found a defect that prevents VoiceOver users from selecting radio buttons in certain scenarios. The defect occurs if I add a Highcharts component to the web page. I have reported this to Highcharts at https://github.com/highslide-software/highcharts.com/issues/3869, but I think there is a possibility that the defect is actually in Mobile Safari or VoiceOver, rather than in Highcharts. The reason for this is that it works fine on iOS7, but it is broken in iOS8.

I am trying to develop a new app that will have a rating system built in. I would like to ask about usability of existing rating systems, such as the Facebook and Youtube "Like". Are the current rating systems satisfactory or is there a certain point that could be improved? I recognize that all numbers should be readable (i.e. not in graphic form only), but I wonder if there's anything else I should look out for. Thank you so much for the help.

Hi all, I'm revisiting a subject that is still not solved and I keep hoping that one day it will be. The iPhone has several Apps to read printed text, but none can read an LCD display on an appliance or other gadget that has a digital display, why is that? With so much advancement in AIand high resolution immiging, you would think that it is not so complicated. Yet, it seems that it is very complicated., proven by the fact that we don't have one yet. Anyone has any new information, or comment on this? Thank you.

I build RealTime AI Cam, a free app that tells you what the camera is pointed at, out loud. Everything runs on the iPhone itself, so it works in airplane mode, with no account and nothing to buy.

Hello Apple vis,
Does anyone have any recommendations on where to go and learn PHP, JavaScript, Ruby, CSS, and HTML?
I want to work on learning those languages.
I have a general understanding on HTML, and the Language, but I wouldn't qualify myself worthy of building any webpages with out the use of WordPress.
Thanks in advance.
Chuck

I'm currently tasked with taking our existing application and making it play nice with VoiceOver.

Among other things our application can enter a mode to record the screen. This involves creating over a dozen little floating windows (one for each handle, some are less than 200 square pixels).

But each time we create (or hide and then re-show) one of these windows, VoiceOver helpfully announces: "X has new window".

Hey everyone. I'm definitely not as witty as most, so I'd like to write down my thoughts here after going through the iOS app development process.
As I write this, I'm not sure if this is going to end up being a guide for blind people that want to develop apps, or just random musings on developing an app, but I'd like to put this out there to give people inspiration that it can be done if you want to.

Hello applevis community,
I saw this very interesting article in a blind related mailing list and thought it would be a good idea to repost it here. I am just a cs student for now so can't pretend understand any of this, but there are people here much more clever than I am... Wishing you a good read!

I've been working on adding VoiceOver support to the next version of "Bliss - The Game for Lovers," made for iPhone and iPad. It's a romantic game for couples to play in bed. You can search for it in Apple's app store.

Hi, To introduce myself, I'm Harri Pasanen and I'm the developer behind mpaja.com, which a small app development company just starting with iOS applications. One of the applications I've been working on for quite some time is an offline wikipedia reader called Mopedi.

Hello world! One of the reasons for buying my iPhone 60+ days ago, was to learn the Swift programming language, because I heard from the Google Assistant, that Apple is teaching blind children how to program in Swift. Unfortunately, Swift compiler does not exist for Android.
Last night, on my iPhone with VoiceOver linked to my LogiTech Bluetooth keyboard, online C/C++ compiler, I successfully written & compiled my 1st ANSI C program, after 22 months of non-programming life due to blindness.
