iOS and iPadOS

Hey there,
Which do you all prefer? Voice dream scanner or KNFB reader? Has anyone found one to be more accurate?

I’ve got a very normal MP3 file. It is part of the study materials for my school. Voice Dream simply refuses to play it. Any other app will play it, but I’m just a little curious. Any ideas?

I am using Voice Dream Writer on an iPad mini, with a bluetooth keyboard. I like the APP, and notice that it is frequently recommended. I have had no luck getting suggested corrections for spelling errors with this APP. The APP finds misspelled words fine, but I never find any corrections for the misspelled word. Does this feature of the APP work, and if so can anyone tell me how to use it.

Hi all,

Now I have successfully accessed my writer files on my PC.

Hi,

I've been thinking about purchasing Voice Dream Writer, and have heard the podcast, which I believe was for an older version (it's currently at version 1.4.2).
However, I've also been reading about other text editors like PermaNote (formerly Nebulous Notes), and am trying to decide which would be a better app to get. If anyone is using either of these apps, which one would you recommend?

Thanks.

Yours Sincerely,
Kelly Sapergia

I like Voice Dream Writer a lot. Even something as simple as having the ability to easily check spelling makes it more useful than many other writing apps. However, I think its major drawback is that it doesn't sync with Dropbox. (I know it can import from/export to Dropbox, and sync with iCloud, but it can't directly edit files in Dropbox without copying them to the app first). The reasons why Dropbox sync is preferable to iCloud sync are:

Hi all,
I hope someone here could assist me with the questions below. I sent them to the developer support, but, did not get anywere. Here they are. Please note, I am voiceover user, no sight.

when you use siri, you get the high quality Susan Bennett voice, plus you can read the screen with VO. for turn-by-turn direction in maps, you only get the directions in VO voice, unless you turn VO off, in that case, you'll receive directions in the high quality voice. unfortunately, this also mean you can't read anything on the screen or operate the phone till you turn VO on again. i wonder why it has to be this way, especially i find the high quality voice easier to understand in noisy environment. whose have better connection ought to talk to Apple about this...

Hello,

I found a very strange bug in iOS with my iPhone XS.

When I unlock the screen voice-over tells the time but the first part of the information is very loud and then the volume goes down to the normal level.

Does someone else knows this problem?

Regards

Is there a way to have a voice mail message automatically play through the speaker instead of you having to swipe to the speaker button while the message is playing? I say this because some messages are easier to hear on speaker than the ear piece.

Good afternoon,
I’m currently in training to learn how to become more independent, as well as obtain skills necessary to get a job.
As part of this training, I’ve recently discovered how useful the built-in Voice Memos app is for quickly taking notes.
However, the one feature this app doesn’t have, which I’m looking for, is nested folder Support.
Does anyone know of an app which can record Voice Memos, And Support sub folders?
Synchronization would also be good. I have access to iCloud, OneDrive, and Dropbox.

Looks like Voice Memos could be extremely useful for my purposes, if only I could easily locate & activate app for recording. I’ve tried to move Voice Memo to home page on my Iphone without luck so far. Is there somewhere else it can be located beside in utilities folder on page 2? Would be great if I could use Siri to start recording on VM. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi,

I just played around with the voice memos app since I don't have anything but my iPhone to record with at the moment. The Voice Memo-App came to mind and its auto-enhance feature.

Hi all,
apologies if this has been discussed before and I missed it.
I use to use Voice Memos (the default app within the utilities folder) in IOS quite a bit but hadn't for probably about a year. Sometime since, the app has become quite hard to use with VO. I went into it over the weekend and it took me simply ages to find out what file I wanted to listen too and then, how to play it.
Anyone else amazed at the change in this app now we're up to 7.1.1? Quite disappointing I must say.

Post Date:
where is the "play" button for voice memos located? i can flick to it, but for the life of me, i can't find its exact location by exploring. if you can see the screen or you happen to know where it is, please enlighten.

Hi all, has any of that ever happened to you, and if it has, is there any way to retrieve my missing recording? After completing my recording in Voice memos I hit "Done", but the usual save / delete recording dialogue didn't pop up. For a moment I could see the title "Recording11" or whatever the name of the recording was along with its duration, but after swiping right, it was gone with no warning. Does that mean it got erased from my phone for good?
Thank you.

is there any way to raise the volume of voice memos within the app or do I have to imported into an audio editor? I noticed that I made a recording this afternoon and it’s very very quiet. I have to have my device nearly on full blast to be able to hear it clearly Especially if I’m recording something like ambience

Hi Guys,

i hope someone can assist me, i have a colleague of mine who depends on voice over 100% of the time because he cannot see. when sending an sms, you can add the contact via the + button in the TO field.
Voiceover reads the contacts when you scroll through the list, however it no longer reads out the contact when you go to the TO: field.

This is a problem whe you want to verify that you have added the correct person, on ios 7, it used to read to, and also the recipient of the sms. we on ios 8.1.1, iphone 5s, 32gb

Hi everyone!

For those of you who don't know me, I'm Shalin Shah, a college student at UC Berkeley studying computer science. I develop and maintain an application called Voice OCR. I just wanted to share that I released a new update a few days ago – Voice 6.3. It's free to download, and you can find it on the app store here: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/voice-ocr-document-reader/id903772588.
