Hi. On iOS in face time calls, the person on the other end can not hear VO, but on OSX they can. In OSX is there a way to get it so people can not hear VO?
iOS and iPadOS
Hi. Remember my post from a few days ago about the gestures problem I was having on 4 different iOS devices that were all previously working good? Well now I am having another problem, but this time it has only hit 3 of my iOS devices. The iPhone 6, the iPhone 4s and the iPod 5. Numerous reboots and resets have done nothing to fix it. In the settings app, VoiceOver decided to quit announcing the state of some toggle switches. Some work properly and some don't. For example, I will get, airplane mode double tap to toggle setting.
Hi All,
I would appreciate some assistance with a VoiceOver problem on a Fifth Gen iPod Touch.
I gifted my Mother the latest iPod Touch and a Phillips Clock Radio for her to play her music. I set Voice Over up for her and taught her the basics. Now she has returned home she has encountered an unexpected problem, a problem that I have been unable to resolve, .
After removing the iPod from the Phillips Clock Radio dock, VoiceOver simply stops speaking.
A small but annoying problem: Just before I updated to the newest IOS, VO started pronouncing yesterday as yester-tay, and Larry as Laury. Is this somebody's idea of a joke or an Easter Egg? Or, is it a real bug?
Occasionally VO is making No-ItemFound announcement, even when the phone is locked. Could I have activated something to trigger this behaviour recently?
Thanks in anticipation.
Hello all,
In certain third-party apps, Voiceover recognises different consecutive controls as one control. For instance, while flicking from left to right wherein there are, say, control 1, control 2, control 3 and control 4 to click, Voiceover in just one flick announces all these control together. Double tapping activates the first control, so there seems no way to click other controls. The same app, if used on android device, they are reported in separate flicks by Talkback.
Okay, so this is driving me totally bonkers!!! VoiceOver has recently started saying "current item" practically everywhere on the Chewy app and "current location" in the same way on the Amazon app, which makes reading anything basically impossible to read all the way through with speech because VO is constantly interrupting itself to say these phrases. I also recently encountered the problem on the web, with a link which I will post in a moment. Before that, though, has anyone else noticed this problem?
I've also noticed this on my apple tv, has anyone noticed since ios 12.1 vo will say portrait when it first comes on or you turn it on? It even does it on my apple tv, does this mean anything?
Has anyone else had Voiceover become unresponsive after ending a phone call?
often after ending a call Voiceover goes silent on me when trying to use the screen, I just hear the VO gesture doink sounds as if Iβve turned speech off. Itβs intermittent so has proven difficult to demonstrate for Apple support so I just wondered if anyone else has seen this happen?
It previously happened on a iPhone 12 under IOS 14 and still happens on IOS 15 on a iPhone 13. It resolves if you lock and unlock your screen but having to do that is not always ideal in some situations.
Just wondering if others are experiencing this issue with Voiceover or if something suddently went bad with my iPhohne.
Here is what started happening on my iPhone 6 right after installing the iOS 12.1.1 upgrade. Don't know if this is a coincidence or not.
I notice that when I am reading an article in the Apple News app by using the two finger click down to read continuously, occasionally VoiceOver will suddently move focus to the top of the page on the "Back" button of the article.
Not sure if anyone here uses the qardio app but if you do has anyone noticed vo is very sluggish on the latest version? I've tried restarting my phone. I'm using an IPhone8 running 14.6
Since updating ios14 vo includes all punctuation like . , : β etc. Very difficult to read anything with all punctuation read a loud as well. I have gone to vo punctuation, but itβs not changing when I select none. Suggestions?
Hello,
One thing I find annoying about ios9 and maybe it's just app specific and not ios itself is I find a lot of the time when I'm typing in a search vo will speak the number of results, for example when I look up someone up on periscope, as I'm typing vo will speak the number of search results everytime I type in a letter. Is there anyway to fix this?
Thanks.
Recently, I have encountered a very annoying bug. After disconnecting from a phone call, Voiceover sometimes speaks through the iPhone earpiece instead of the speaker. Even when I close the phone app and restart VoiceOver, this behaviour persists. I can correct it by restarting the phone. I am running IOS 15.2 on an iPhone 12.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?
I have been having an issue where VO just stops talking for no apparent reason. If I try turning VO off and on again, it turns off, but won't come back on unless I reboot the phone.
This has been happening quite a lot over the last while. I am using ios 9.2 with an iphone 6.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Any ideas about how to avoid it?
Thanks,
Louise
Hi, use a keyboard or braille display to navigate my phone 99 percent of the time. I've noticed that Voiceover likes to switch to the actions rotor setting especially if I pause in an email with multiple headings, like a playlist email I receive from a radio station I like, and I have to reset it from actions to headings. But this happens with a lot of other apps, it wants me to drag an image or some such on a google search page and I have to move it back to headings. Is this something that can be changed and I just don't know how to do it?
Iβve noticed that VO sometimes takes a while, up to a couple of minutes, to start reading after using the read all command. It seems to happen most often in Safari, especially with long articles. If I try to interrupt it with another command, Iβll get the VO sounds but no speech, and the only way to fix it is to turn VO off and back on.
