This week, I will be starting my job at a local school. I will be helping children with iPads for 1 hour. One of the topics will be on drawing. I'm just wondering if anyone knows of any drawing apps for the iPad that are accessible with VoiceOver? Thanks for your help.
iOS and iPadOS
Hi all.
I’m relatively new to BO, and while I’m getting to the “OK” point mostly everywhere I need it, some things still seem pretty difficult. One important aspect is how to use text chats in apps such as Skype.
I have an iPhone 12 Pro and an iPad Pro 11-inch, 2nd gen, both of which I've recently updated to 18.0.1. I've been coping with certain VO annoyances for several releases, none of which have been resolved by iOs/iPadOS 18. Are you experiencing these? If so, I'll try to submit formal bug reports.
1. In Safari, if you enter text in a web form's text field and swipe right to the next form control, VO focus sometimes jumps back to the text field.
So this issue just started for me. When VO tells me that something happened say, 2 hours ago, it will say 2 hrs ago instead of 2 hours ago. Or when it says OCT, for October, it will say o c t instead. This just happened and I'm using 13.2.
Hi all,
Very recently, when I opened up Office Lens, I noticed that VO no longer announce whether I need to move my camera around.
Previously, before I updated to iOS 13, when using this app VO would announce things like 'move right', 'ready', etc...but right now, on iOS 13.1.2, VO no longer announce those things, which I find to be quite annoying.
Is this a bug with iOS 13, or a bug in Office Lens?
Hi, This is my first time posting to the forum. So, I hope I am doing this correctly. I use the VO calendar app on my iPhone and in the last month or two I have noticed that events are being added without me doing so. I have it synced to the Apple calendar and don't use that one but when I go over to it the events are not there. I can't figure out where the events are coming from and how they are placed on the calendar. I read the info here on AppleVIS about the Vo calendar and the link to the web developer is broken.
I am responding to an email I received about my challenges with VO Calendar. To the person who responded, I want to say thank you so much. I currently am no longer having those problems with random events showing up on my calendar. It has been a while so maybe iOS updated and corrected the problem on its own. But thanks again for taking the time to give suggestions to me.,
I am having a big problem in some apps with VO turning itself off and on repeatedly since I "upgraded" to IOS8 on my IPod Touch 5G. IOS8.02 has not helped, either.
The apps have several short videos. If I watch only 1 or 2 videos, it's fine, but after that the trouble starts. I have tried turning off speech during the video, and manually stopping VO during the video, but neither fix really worked. The only thing that works is to close the app, after which VO behaves itself.
Does anyone have a fix for this problem?
Hello!I know that problems with the VO cursor seem to be an off and on thing and that they came back with a vengeance for some users with the new updates. I've been enduring them but I'm wondering if anyone knows of any fixes or upcoming fixes.
In both iOS and iPadOS 13.2.2 a two finger scrub gesture will not exit handwriting. This certainly worked in iOS 12 and is stated to work in iOS 13.2 in the Apple iPhone User Guide. I have reported this issue to Apple. I know, of course, that handwriting can be exited by turning the rotor. I'll explain why the scrub is important. I have trained many people to use VO and an inability to perform the standard rotor gesture effectively is common.
When I receive a group e-mail from a number of people, VO is speaking all of the names to whom the message is sent before reading the message on the locked screen. Although it is nice to know everyone to whom a message is being sent, when such mesages are sent to 10 or more people it takes too long to speak the name before the message itself is spoken.
I would first like to mention that I have been using an iPhone for a while now, since my iOS 4s and iOS 6) I vaguely remember having something similar to this happening or being a choice a long time ago. I recently upgraded my 5c to 9.1 and now every capital letter, instead of just having a slight inflection to denote that it is upper case, says "cap" before saying the letter.
Hi folks,
I’ve noticed an issue with the Notification Center and lock screen notifications. I’m not sure if it started happening after iOS 14.0 or 14.1, but sometimes when there are a lot of notifications, VoiceOver skips some of them when revealing the list. I often only see the older notifications instead of the newer ones. Swiping left repeatedly doesn’t help—VoiceOver still doesn’t pick up the recent notifications. Sometimes, scrolling down with three fingers makes the newer ones appear, but that doesn’t always fix it.
Is anyone here that uses teladoc noticing that vo keeps saying _text_ when scrolling? This is using ios15.6.1 with latest version of teladoc.
Hello,Phone calls as well as voip calls made through various third-party apps are integrated in the IOS Phone app and are displayed under the Recent tab. I'v noticed that VoiceOver, while reading most of it, are not giving the entire information in the list of incoming and outgoing calls. For sighted users there are info whether the the call made or received has beeen a phone call or a voip call from other apps, and even audio or video. But I couldn't seem to get all that info read by VO.
Does anyone else find that when in reading-all mode in text, that they are not read as they would be spoken? For instance, can't is read as can tee and it's is read as it ess.
