I want to understand the difference between updating iOS through OTA VS through ITunes.
I see that the update size on ITunes for iOS 8.3 is more than 1 GB as oppose to about 280 MB through OTA. Is there any difference between the end result of downloading through Itunes ? I understand that ITunes downloads the whole build, but does it make any difference? Please share wich way would be a better option to go with for updating iOS.

Anybody with an iPad Mini 4 updated to IOS 11 and the updates beyond? I'm asking because I can't update mine. I do all the steps and then I'm stuck where it says "requesting update" and nothing happens. Updates don't usually take up so much time. Do these newer updates take time? I've been wating for an hour now for it to start the update. Thanks for any help.

I am using the Iphone4s and haven't yet updated it.
If I update my phone to 8.3, does anyone know if it will effect any of my downloaded apps I have on the phone, or anything else for that matter?
I especially don't want to remove Fleksy or WhatsApp, and then have to reinstall them again, if I can avoid it.
I would be very grateful for any feedback. Thanks in advance.

Hi all, I hope someone could help me here, I don't have access to wifi, and try very hard to update to I O S six via ITunes. But I just don't manage. The network connection time out or something like that. I don't no, I tryed to put off my firewall, I tryed to make sure that ITunes, Apple software update, and the IPod service are all allowed fru the firewall. And as far as I no my virus program don't interfear with any of my software, and I con't seem to be able to switch it off either.

A while back, I added a second payment method to my Apple ID, and now I want to switch to that payment method, but I can't figure out how. It seems like the logical thing to do would be to tap the edit button, then double tap and hold on the payment method you want to change, then drag it up. However, I can't seem to get that to work. How do I change my payment method?

I want to upgrade my 2014 MacBook Air to El Capitan from Mavericks and have a couple of questions that hopefully some of you can answer for me.
1: Does VoiceOver continue to talk during the upgrade?
2: Was there any negative effect on your BootCamp partition like not being able to access it?

On my 7th gen iPod touch, it is not showing iOS13. It is not letting me update. It keeps saying iOS 12.4 is ythe latest. Do iPhones get the update first? I even plugged it into my RCA cambio windows 10 tablet and loaded up itunes and checked for updates and itunes says 12.4 is the latest iOS. Maybe iPod touch is the last to get iOS13? I wish I could update.

I understand that as of, September 7th, 2016, older applications for IOS devices will be removed from the app store.
While i have not seen any news about this, can anyone confirm or deny this roomer?
Also it looks like the App store will have some apps removed and cleaned up. I understand that this effects the IPhone models. So for instance, the IPhone 4s, 5s, 5c, and the 5SE.
If this also effects the IPod touch fifth generation units, what apps will be removed, for purposes of recovering things from an ICloud backup?

As the subject says, I will soon be upgrading from a 16GB 4S and both the 32GB 5S and 16GB 6 are the same price. Here is what I will be using the phone for mostly. Primarily KNFB reader, playing audio games, streaming audio/video as well as recording audio/video. I am thinking the 5S should probably be my choice because of the added space, smaller size and from what I have heard KNFB reader works quite well since I assume that's what it was mostly tested with before release.

Hello everybody
I were a beta tester of IOS 12 for the last two or three weeks. On my iPhone under settings, under general and under software update I received the message: "IOS 12.0. Your software is up to date." I did not though received a message to upgrade to the stable version of IOS 12. Somehow I misunderstood some of the information in the IOS beta guide. Do I have to now connect my iPhone to my computer and within iTunes restore it back to IOS 11 and upgrade to IOS 12 from there? Is this correct? I uninroled my device already from the beta program.

I currently have the iPhone 15 base model and have had it for almost two years. I used to be the type that would run it into the ground before replacing it (I remember getting 3.5 years out of the good old iPhone 6), but now, with the extent to which I use my phone, I don't really care to watch it deteriorate.

I know this sounds crazy, but I have yet to update my iPhone 4 to ios 5. I absolutely love this site and have found a lot of good info through it! Thanks to everyone for posting all you do! Anyway, a few minutes ago I found 10.VoiceOver bugs in iOS 5 and decided to read it. After reading, I'm not sure I want to update my phone just yet. I'm curious, have things gotten better in the last month or so? Thanks.

I am a new user of Apple products, I bought my Iphone 5 about one week ago. I have IOS 6, and I was thinking to upgrade to 7. I did some research on this site, but I couldn't make a clear picture about what is new, what is better, what are the new bugs and what is different in IOS 7 from IOS 6. Could someone please post here what are the differences, the improvements and the bugs in 7?

After the tragic experience with iOS13, I decided to postpone updating to iOS15. However I am planning to buy the new iphone SE.
However if the focus issues that have been previously reported here are still present, I might not take the plunge and keep my old iphone SE for one or two years. What I'll be using the phone is Safari navigation with headings, google search with headings and using the mail app.

I have an iPhone 4, and I was wondering if I could take a file from pages on my iPhone and upload it using the dropbox app, or will I have to do such uploads from my Mac?
