iOS and iPadOS

Hello, When trying to sign in to Youtube via the app on the iPhone, I for some reason am unable to. I'm using my Google account username and password to do this, and I can do this just fine on my pc, and through the built in web browser on the iPhone. I was reading somewhere that you have to use an app specific password, that I was unable to get, because Jaws kept saying when I entered the edit field to type my username and such, edit field unavailable.
Is there a simpler way around this, or can anyone give any other suggestions?
Thanks, Shane.

I really like the Silence Calls feature of the Phone App. What I don't like is having to first get rid of the calls from my lock screen and then go in to the Recents Section of the Phone App and delete the entry again. If the caller doesn't leave a voice mail, I would rather not even know a call came in and was silenced. Maybe that could be a settings option in later IOS. Just a thought and my opinion.

I posted this as a comment in the VIPhone google group: I find VO's speaking during a phone call annoying also. Here's an enhancement suggestion I have for the VO team: Add a VO setting option to turn VO speech off during a phone call.

Hi All, How do you silence voiceover? My example is: I get a notification that there's voice mail, I double tap to listen, raise the phone, and while the voice mail is playing, VO starts talking saying things like row expanded and other stuff. So I have to go back and tap play voice mail. So how do you stop VO in order to hear voice mail? Thank you.

I set up my emergency S.O.S. contacts and was reading about how it works. OK, sorry folks. Here's my question: the sleep/wake button is the one on the phone and not the same as the Home Button, right? Thank you.

Silver sword just got a big update. One of the key features mentioned was a big improvement to VO users. Now, magic tap and the game will tell you where you are and what exits you can take. I've made more progress in this game over the last half hour than I had in a week before it, so you might give it another try. It's also crashing much less often.

I have a Yamaha piane keyboard with a Usb port. I have the camera kit adapter and can connect my keyboard to my phone and IPod touch with no problems. I have tried garage band for IOS to get the audio from my keyboard to come directly into my IOS device with no success. I have found garage band to be not very user friendly with voice over on IOS. I like that garage band has different piano and keyboard sounds that can be used with an external piano keyboard. If anyone knows of any similar apps that offer the same features pliffe share them.

Hello all,
I am looking for a simple checklist app. I do not need one like TODO or Things. I just want something simple like repeat checklist. Repeat checklist is the ideal app except for the fact that it has not been updated for five years. Does anyone know of a simple app like repeat checklist that is a bit more modern?

Thanks,
Greg Wocher

I'd like to put a simple GPS app on my blind husband's iPhone. I was going for BlindSquare, but it appears to be gone from the app store. I just thought it would be handy for him to know nearby streets, which direction he's heading, and possibly some points of interest.
I was thinking free or low-cost. Reccomendations?
Thanks.

I've been wanting to set up fingerprints for my new 5S IPhone. It also asks for a password for when the print is not available. If I don't choose to use the simple password option, how many characters does the other option require? Since the manual isn't in the phone anymore, I thought I would check here.

I'm looking for an app that loads quickly. I don't need to be able to edit with it. All I want to do is record, and then play the recording back with the ability to rewind, fast forward, and play at slow speeds without changing the pitch. Can one record very well with an iPod Touch 5th Generation, or does one need to connect an external mic to it, as is the case with the ClearRecorder app? I've noticed too that the Voice Memo app doesn't come with the iPod. Thanks!

First time post and not sure whether this should be reported as a bug elsewhere but on iOS9 Safari simply selecting an option can cause the VoiceOver focus to jump to the button at the top of the page. Is this a surprise to anybody or is VoiceOver focus setting just plain buggy?

I have an iPod Touch fifth generation. I need to be able to text people with Android phones or tablets. I don't really care about bells and whistles right now. I am a new user of iDevices. (I am a Apple convert.) If suggested Apps are free, so much the better!

Hello,

Does anyone know of a simpler way to navigate IOS native calendar app? For example, is there a way to view only days with events, or search by specific date rather than view the whole month or week? I am running IOS 12.3.1.

If there is no way to do this are there any apps you recommend that might have this feature?

Thank you

Dear Friends: I am a blind iOS user living in California and I have just released my first iOS app. Simulated Sighted Stranger is a hilarious app that includes a rich library of audio clips simulating the things that blind people have heard a million times as we make our way through life. Classics like "you're going the wrong way," and "watch yourself," are randomly selected from a constantly growing library of sounds with just a shake of your iPhone or a tap of the button.
