Hi,
Does anyone know why the female VoiceOver voice doesn't sound like Siri?

Hi all,
I have an iphone 5 running iOS 8.03.
At times when I hit the Home button to go Home, Siri comes up instead. Now this is happening with a *short* click on Home - not a long one.
If I click Home again, nothing happens. I can't get Siri to go away. If I keep trying, VO gets turned off.

Is there some other way to exit Siri without locking the screen?
Thanks,
June I.

Hi, What do I do to fix this? I have it set to work under Siri if phone is locked. It still won't work. Help is appreciated. Thanks.

Hello everyone! I changed my language to the United Kingdom English. And when I called Siri, she sounded so robotic. and I would like to edit that, she comes to life at some point. for example: When I ask about some famous people, she reads the page in the robotic voice. and when she asks that would you like to more infomation, she comes to her human form. Pleas help me. Thank you!

I'm not sure what I did to cause this, if anything, but siri is quite a bit quieter than the regular voiceover voice now as is the double-beep noise that activates siri when I hit the home button. How do I fix this?

Has anyone tried the Sirius Xm ap lately on an IPhone 5s? I did a search for Sirius Xm on Applevis, and I'll admit that I didn't look at all of the content but everything I saw that said the ap wasn't accessible was from at least a couple of years ago. I'm just wondering if the ap has been updated since 2013 or 14 so that it's accessible?

When using the latest Sirius XM app 2.20 with IOS 6 both on a 4S and 5, the app automatically shuts down when using the favorites tab in exactly five minutes. This has been reported to Sirius XM twice with no response. Has anyone experienced this, and if so, is there a work around? Note that the app stays open when using any other tab except the Favorites tab.

Hi,
This crosses into iOS and iOS apps and also could cross into mac OS and mac OS apps, but is Sirius Xm more accessible on iOS, or in safari/chrome on Mac OS these days?
I remember several years ago, it wasn't very accessible on iOS, but that was probably a good 4 or 5 years ago now.
Thanks for any pointers.

hello! I am a heavy sirius/xm user and since the end of September, when Sirius xm changed the site so older versions of the app (1.33) stopped working, I have had little success in accessing sirius xm. All versions from 1.4 on, are not accessible. I've written and complained to sirius xm several times and have never received a response. MusicDock does get most channels, but streams poorly, often rebuffering and reconnecting especially when I'm using 3g. Does anyone have any solutions that perhaps I'm not aware of? Thanks!

Is anyone else experiencing Voice Over issues with the SiriusXM app? I am finding that many of the buttons do not have useful labels. For example, the buttons for my favorites are read as “square undescore audio”. Is there a setting that can be adjusted to fix this?

Hello,
the SeriusXM app seems to be relatively accessible, but I seem to be having difficulties accessing my favourites. I have 3 or 4 favourites, but when I go to the favourites tab, the focus is stuck on one channel and I am unable to see any of my other channels. What is the best way to access your favourite channels?

Hi All,

I'm using an iPhone 5s, and since I installed IOS 10 my siriusXM app doesn't seem to be refreshing the way it used to.

I listen to the OTR channel quite a bit, and say I turn it off at 9:30 and turn it back on at 11:00 the content that was playing at 9:30 is still what's playing. Pressing the forward button doesn't help, and the skip button is dimmed out. The only way I can get what's playing currently in the above example is to go to another channel. and then come back.

I apologize if this is an old issue but I usually do native app and now they have me looking at mobile web and hybrid apps. I seem to have an issue with the Skip Link on a mobile web using an iPhone and iPad. I can activate the Skip Link and it sends me to where I want to go. When I swipe to go to the next element it takes me to the next section, region or container on the page. I don't seem to be able to Swype to that next element but I can do it by Explore by Touch. I notice the same issue on this site, is there a work around or bug that I have to live with?

thanks

Any way to have voiceover skip an ellipsis?

For some reason the sky plus app on my iPad refuses to open, when I click on it the screen pops up for a second then closes. I did install it on iPhone yesterday but asume that has nothing to do with iPad issue. It works ok on iPhone. Have uninstalled and reinstalled iPad app to no avail. Any ideas?

Hello All, I've been reading up a little on the Skyfire app here on Applevis, but I was wondering if anyone had anymore tips and tricks they would be willing to share? For example, it seems as though sometimes, the address bar is easy to find, and sometimes its not. I've also noticed that when double tapping on let's say settings, nothing happens the first time or two when tapping on it. Is there a podcast anywhere that covers VO navigation and Skyfire? I've searched for one, but only found a podcast just talking about Skyfire, but nothing was covered about VO.

I downloaded the latest Skype update today and it had accessibility improvements. I made a voice call and I was able to access all the buttons and put it on speaker phone. Also, I was able to read the text in chat conversations again. So I guess there's no need to downgrade to older versions of Skype anymore.

Skype have just released version 4.0 of their iOS app. Mentioned in the release notes is "Improved accessibility".

I don't use Skype myself, so can somebody who does please let us know how far these improvements go.

Hello applevis list. I downloaded and installed Skype for IPhone 5.0. It seems to be very accessible all buttons are labled. All tabs are seeable using VO. Everythig looks to be good. That is juswt my opinion of course.
