Hi, all. I have commented on the fact that scrolling is lagging with my Brailliant BI 40X display and Ventura. When going through emails, while arrowing down, it takes 3 or more seconds for the display to reflect a down-arrow press while going to the next email in my inbox. I do not want to recommend this update to my students with Braille displays if this is going to be an issue. what is the most stable release of Mac OS that does not have this issue? Thanks.
Hello Everyone,
looking for the Braille tAbles contained in Braille TAble,s in the Iphone, there is one (different than the lIblius) which is called "system Braille TAble" and is written "unified", do you know what is thes table?, and if it's an special table created by Apple or which one?, I think that works much better than the LIblouis, and because of this I am curious to know the name and if its an special table created by Apple, as I think.
Many thanks in advance.

My VoiceOver is getting beautiful - on iPhone itʻs both in English and in Italian - which is neat because moving it a bit or playing with the rotary it gives me sometimes better options (when the pronunciation doesnʻt get confusing).
Now Iʻve got the Perkins type keyboard set up on both iPhone and iPad Mini.
But the Braille I try to type is often "contracted". Now WHAT contracted format does it use? US Level 2? UEB?
Hi, All,
This issue really bothers me. For a few times, while VoiceOver was turned on, I did some gesture and the iOS built-in Music app started playing music. For the first few times, I had no idea where the music came from, and therefore, didn't know how to turn it off. I ended up re-booting my iPad.
Two days ago, it happened again. It took me a lot of time to discover that the built-in Music app was playing. After opening Music, I hit the "Pause" button and music stopped.
Hi! I am interested in getting a Braille display but have never used one before. I just had the opportunity to try out the Focus 40 Blue and the Brailliant for just a few minutes. I'm a little overwhelmed with all the confusing details and since I didn't have much time with them I'm not sure which one I liked better. My main question is: I have heard that either one will work with a Mac, but does one of these work better than the other? The people who did the demo for me had no experience using them with Mac computers so they had no info for me on this.
Hi, I am using in ioS and Brailliant BI 40 X Braille Display.
I will be happy to know the diferents between two things: "Quick Nav" and "Quick nav first Letter Keys"? I don't sure how it translated to English.
I mean to the commands: q+space+7dots.
Thanks.

Hi guys, doing a quick survey for a friend. She is wondering which Braille display is better? Brailliant or Focus?
She is thinking of productivity, battery life, design and durability...
Any advice/suggestions will be appreciated...

Hello, I just want the AppleVis community's opinion on this topic: Is Handwriting Mode better than Braille Screen Input?
Are you a braille user who doesn't use speech? Would you like to be able to fully control your iOS device? Instead of having to first press the Home button on your iPhone, would you like to be able to just take out your portable braille display, press some keys and start controlling the iPhone? Does it annoy you when you're in the middle of writing a text or an email or taking notes and have to reach for the iPhone to press the Home button, just because you've paused too long so the iPhone is locked?
Hello all. Since iOS 13, I've had this strange issue occur where 2 or more words get their spaces removed when I enter a space after them. Some days it never happens, and others make it almost impossible to type a message without going back through and fixing everything.
The clumping seems to happen whenever VO makes a bubbly sound, like when you get a menu pop-up, or when alternative characters are available on the standard on screen keyboard.
Is there any way for me to get rid of this issue? Thanks in advance.

Hi guys,
So I'm writing in my web file index.php in HTML, and was attempting to make a link.
However, for some strange reason, when I perform the quote sign on my braille display, it is changed to some sort of left quote, according to my PC.
I've tried dots 4-5, then dots 2-3-6, but no luck. I've also tried dots 5-6, then dots 3-5-6, no luck.
Does anyone have suggestions?
Thanks.
I think I remember that in the days of iOS 6 it was possible to get the iPhone User Guide in hardcopy braille. Apple removed users' ability to do this a while back, but it seems that they have reintroduced it.
It is now possible to download .brf files for Apple product user guides from the vision accessibility pages of the Apple website. You can also order an embossed hardcopy version of these user guides.
This version of the user guides seem to only be available in Unified English Braille at the moment.
‏Hi everyone, I’m trying to assign custom Braille commands on my iPhone 15 Pro running iOS 18.3 with my Brailliant BI 40X display, but it doesn’t seem to work.
When I perform the command on my Braille display, it either doesn’t register or isn’t recognized correctly.
VoiceOver does not respond when I press the keys I assigned the command to. Has anyone else experienced this issue? If so, do you have any suggestions or workarounds?
Thanks in advance for any help!
