Hi Everyone,
Firstly many thanks to you all so far.
I have got a bit of a problem with Voice Dream writer in the sense that when I export the documents as RTF or word the headings don't show up even though I've marked them within the Writer app itself and they appear in the outline view. I have emailed Voice dream support to make them aware of the issue but has anyone exsperienced this problem as well?
Hello all. I have a Focus 40 Blue paired with my Mac, running Mountain Lion. I'm trying to use the Braille more, so I won't rely on the Mac's keyboard or trackpad as much. In looking at the commands that are already assigned, I don't see one for using the voice over keys, I.e. Control and option. Am I missing something? I know how to get to the dock, and a few other basic things. If anyone could help me use this more effectively, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
Hey all, I decided it would be a good idea to post this to see if anyone was having this problem, my friends don't seem to be having this problem. Basically, when I try to use braille screen input, VoiceOver just crashes. Is anyone else having this same problem? I am using an iPhone 5, with iOS 8.1.3
Is it possible to have Voiceover read a piece of content in a different language? I am able to get it to work for JAWS and NVDA, but not for Voiceover (VO).
I'm new to Braille Displays, and I've noticed that iOS seems to have things that macOS simply doesn't. in particular, I've noticed that math is displayed differently on both. on the Mac, voiceover displays math as if it were unicode, while not using Nemeth at all. I don't see an option to toggle Nemeth in VoiceOver utility, but its right there on iOS. Why is this?
I am currently using OS 11.4 on an Image of late 2017: I have assigned two keys of my Braille display to pan left and pan right. Ina plain text document such as text edit or Word for Mac this is working perfectly, however it does'knt work in mail or Safari. Panning thru a received e-mail message e.G. would display 1 line and then, when panning on, either goes back to the beginning of the current line or even to the beginning of the e-mail message. Reading text in Safari shows similar behavior.
We are developing a braille display keyboard for iPhone and iPad, during development, we found that there is a "delay" between the letter voices out and shows on screen. Let say I'm typing "a" (Dot 1), iOS voices out "a" immediately but then shows it on screen after a few seconds.
Is there any setting in iOS that can change/cancel this "delay" time? If not, do you think this delay is significant for most of the blind people during their typing?
In iOS 16.4, we can now read text formatting in Braille. This is most easily noticed in the Books app. To enable it, go to Braille settings in VoiceOver settings, and enable Text Formatting. You'll now see any italics, bold, ETC in your book. This works with apps that present text in a page format, not separating formatting into different elements. Kindle does not appear to show the text formatting to VoiceOver, only the plain text. Safari and other apps put differently formatted text in a different element on the page.
When I connect my brail displays: Braillant Braillenote touch or smartbeetle to my iphone XR 64 gb ios13.4.1 the following weird behavior takes place.
The typing is normal and after typing each word I hear voiceover feedback this word as I have set my tiping feedback to words.
Now, supposing I make a mistake, I hit space 134 or space 7 to delete the characters and correct the word. From that point on, VO stops giving any feedback of words.
So when typing with a braille display VoiceOver announces both the previous word I typed and the word I typed before pressing space. How long has this been a thing? I don't remember this being a bug before. Mind you I haven't used a braille display in a while. Also at least with this Brailliant 14 typing is very jumpy and can cause me to find gibberish instead of what I type. in a long session longer than about 3 sentences. Â About text formats

Hi, all. I have commented on the fact that scrolling is lagging with my Brailliant BI 40X display and Ventura. When going through emails, while arrowing down, it takes 3 or more seconds for the display to reflect a down-arrow press while going to the next email in my inbox. I do not want to recommend this update to my students with Braille displays if this is going to be an issue. what is the most stable release of Mac OS that does not have this issue? Thanks.
Hello Everyone,
looking for the Braille tAbles contained in Braille TAble,s in the Iphone, there is one (different than the lIblius) which is called "system Braille TAble" and is written "unified", do you know what is thes table?, and if it's an special table created by Apple or which one?, I think that works much better than the LIblouis, and because of this I am curious to know the name and if its an special table created by Apple, as I think.
Many thanks in advance.

My VoiceOver is getting beautiful - on iPhone itʻs both in English and in Italian - which is neat because moving it a bit or playing with the rotary it gives me sometimes better options (when the pronunciation doesnʻt get confusing).
Now Iʻve got the Perkins type keyboard set up on both iPhone and iPad Mini.
But the Braille I try to type is often "contracted". Now WHAT contracted format does it use? US Level 2? UEB?
This issue really bothers me. For a few times, while VoiceOver was turned on, I did some gesture and the iOS built-in Music app started playing music. For the first few times, I had no idea where the music came from, and therefore, didn't know how to turn it off. I ended up re-booting my iPad.
Two days ago, it happened again. It took me a lot of time to discover that the built-in Music app was playing. After opening Music, I hit the "Pause" button and music stopped.
