watchOS and Apple Watch Apps

I was excited to hear Sir's voice on David Woodbridge's Apple Watch (in his podcast) as all other reviews had led me to believe that Siri. while otherwise working effectively, would not be speaking aloud. Even with an effective Voice Over I would really miss hearing Siri: especially checking that she has my text messages correctly before sending them. And, of course, I would miss her witty remarks.

I have installed the updates on my iPhone SE and my Apple Watch. I have activated walkie-talkie on my watch. I’ve managed to add a few people. My wife, has the identical watch and phone. She has opened the walkie-talkie app on her Watch, but can’t get any further than the introduction that basically tells you what it does. It doesn’t present her with anywhere to add or a list of contacts. Has anyone else had this problem? Are we missing something?

Hi all, I am using an Apple Watch together with an I phone six. When using the activity app on the watch I can get the moving and exercising to register but cannot get the standing to register. When I first had the watch it worked perfectly. I am sure I am ticking all the right boxes on the phone and the watch. Am I missing something somewhere obvious. I have listened to David Woodbridge is excellent podcast and followed his instructions. Alas, I still cannot get the watch to register when I'm standing. Again, as I say, it did originally.

Hello everyone,
I am an experienced iOS user, but till now I have never thought about buying an Apple Watch. As I am doing indoor sports regularly, I wanted to know if anybody uses the Watch for activities such as spimming, or cross walker?! Are there some accessible workouts/apps from Apple to track your activity?
My problem is often that I am not able to read the display on the devices I use. So I am looking for a gadget to tell me speed, distance, time and other information.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Ben

I'm looking at buying the Apple Watch sport with whatever band comes with it by default, the one with the pin and tuck closure. Now, this brings me to my question. When I would wear regular talking watches, the little slot that you feed the remainder of the band into after you put the pin in one of the holes usually breaks after a while of wearing it . I would only take it off usually when I'm going to take a shower though. Would I have this problem with the Apple Watch bands? If so, would I be better off just getting the woven nylon band?

Hello everyone, I want to ask about Apple Watch two. Are there any enhance quality voice for voiceover users? Do you think that Apple Watch series 2 is worth to buy? What do you think the best size for me? 38MM or 42MM? Thanks.

Hi all. I have previously had an Apple Watch series 0, the original Apple Watch. I originally used it quite a bit for notifications and it’s activity functions, but I found I was using it less and less due to its lag and really just because there wasn’t a lot that I needed it for, it turned out to be more of an expensive talking watch really. I am now looking at getting an Apple Watch Series 4, so I have some questions. Have many of the lag issues been fixed to make the watch more usable?

Hey all,
I'm loving the watch OS 4.1 update. however, I'm experienceing a bug regarding messages. whenever I load the messages app once and you delete a message, it works fine, however, the secont time it doesn't want to delete, and therefore it stays stuck on the loading screen. whenever I flick up or down with voiceover, all that voiceover says is messages. Doing a force restart worked only once. after that it stopped working. I could still send/receive messages. Has anyone elce notice this bug?

I know there have been a good few changes to the Apple Watch and the layout of same. I would like to know how reliable the data is that is posted on that section of the website. I’ll figure it out but, the layout description for the Apple Watch is not correct first of all. The buttons have moved. Is the crown supposed to be on top or the bottom? I just got my Apple Watch so any help is well appreciated.

Hi all. I have a question about Apple Watch. I have do not disturb enabled for a certain time on my phone. However, I want this setting to only be on my phone, and not on my Apple Watch. Is there any way to have do not disturb enabled on my phone, and disabled on my Apple Watch?

Hi all. I have a question. So I go into contacts on the phone app in Apple Watch, and then I press a contact to call. Then, I press the call button, but then, there are three unlabled buttons. What do these buttons do?

I upgraded my series to Apple Watch to iOS for and on Sunday did a running workout. Normally when I go to the Activity application on my iPhone 6 I can break down splits and see what my mile results had for timing. This option was not available after the upgrade. I cannot imagine they removed significant running workout functionality but see no mention of it anywhere and documentation. I will try another run tomorrow when I have a guide and see if the same result exist. Anyone else have any information on this?

Hello, all,My partner has a Series 3 watch running OS6, and an iPhone running iOS 13.1. She had to log out of her Apple ID on the phone, which means she has to sign in again on her watch now. When she went to enter the verification code on her watch, it gave her an "Apple watch keyboard".

It seems like 2-finger swipe on my Apple watch stops working at times. If I try to perform such a gesture, I just get the "thunk" sound as if I'm trying to normal swipe with voiceOver when there's no next item to move to. Anyone running into the same issue?

There is an update to the watchOS that might fix this but I thought I'd put it here just in case.

before I returned my watch I had to reset it, I noticed that I was unable to do this so had to get sighted help.

You go into settings/general/reset and tap on reset this watch, then a screen comes up asking if you're sure, a voiceover user, at least with the version of wawatchOS I was using won't be able to flick to the buttons for ok and cancil.

Hi all,

Hello everyone
I've been a member here for quite some time.
In 2015, I relented, giving my trusty iPhone 5s to my mother and switching over to android.
Now, 1 year later, I now have my old 5s back and am looking to buy the apple watch to go along with it.
A few questions!
1. Where is the apple watch category in the apps section of applevis? I'm not seeing it, despite there being standalone apps for the watch. Am I missing something?

Hi all. I think i had to reset my Series 8 reason doesn't matter. Now though using Maps, at least google, it used to play a blinker sound and tapp my wrist, left, turn left, etc. I want that back. Now if it's only done in Apple maps, ok. i have the watch mirroring my phone which can be a little annoying, but can someone help? I would even get the blinking sound even while driving. thanks.
