So I just signed up for applevis, and I love the site and what it represents.
I have some questions about taking pictures. Are there any tips and tricks for aiming the camera correctly to take pictures of people or objects? I know the iPhone camera gives you a little bit of instruction. Like it'll say face at the top edge of the camera or something. Where do you want that face for it to be a decent pic?
Hey, all,
Hope every one had a good Christmas and if you're in the nature-made freezer box like I am, then, I hope you're staying warm and safe. I have a question that may seem odd. However, I'm in kind of an odd place.
Coursera and udemy seem inaccessible at first because of how the apps list their courses. And yes at times there are glitches.
The good news though is they do both work. And I have one tip that works both in Coursera and udemy. And of course both have free courses you can take at no charge whatsoever.
Once in the courses navigation differs a little. I have found Coursera to be more accessible in navigating courses once joined than udemy. However both work and work well all things considered.
I would like to have some tips of every day Daily apps maybe when I'm at home, outdoors, work etc. Some of them I already know are example Textgrabber, tap tap see/be my Eyes, seeingassistant home which includes light dedector, color identify, bar code.
Please give me more ideas that is great to use. :)
I have put up a blog post on my company site: http://www.utechaccess.com that discusses some tips and strategies I use to deal with apps that aren't quite fully accessible. Please go to http://www.utechaccess.com/tips-for-dealing-with-partially-accessible-ios-applications/ and have a read. Feel free to post your own tips or thoughts in the comments of the post or in this forum.
hi all
99.9 percent of the time, I use braille screen input, and absolutely love it, however, sometimes I would like to be able to type on the on screen keyboard, and when I do would faver direct touch typing, the problem I have is, I'm just not very good at it!!! Anyone got any tips? Obviously I can touch type, but put a touch screen in my hand, and all that knowledge seems to just not matter. Any ideas or suggestions appreciated
I will be doing some traveling that will require me to fly in order to reach my destination. Can somebody give me some tips about the best way to protect the i-phone on the plane so that when i get to where i'm going, it won't be in tons of peaces. Will the i-phone be erased if I put it through the x-ray thing at the airport?
Hello.
I would like to get better at typing on the on screen keyboard. Quick typing is not an option because this is in swedish. I cannot seem to get the hang of it and I know lots of blind people who th:ink it is a piece of cake. Any tips for me to be able to do this efficiently? This is a very stupid question, I know. I am using braille input on screen but would like to do touch typing fast too..
Hi all,
I'm in the process of upgrading from an iPhone SE 2020 to an iPhone 16 Pro, and I'm having a really hard time using face ID. My sighted mother had to help me set it up because I couldn't get it to work, but I've tried to unlock the phone several times since getting it set up, and only somehow managed to get it to unlock once. Does anyone have any tips for getting the phone to unlock reliably using face ID?
I manage product accessibility at Intuit and have been working with the TurboTax team to make the web site and apps accessible. I wanted to give you some tips for this year's taxes.
TurboTax Online and TurboTax iOS should give you a great, accessible experience. I haven't found any serious bugs in the past few releases. That being said, I always appreciate feedback: [email protected].
You maybe know the app Seeingassistant-home which including color identify, light detector, barcode recognizing etc. Do you know and would like to give other tips of apps like this? Maybe there's other apps with some accessible functions that is helpful for visually impaired and blind people. It's also important to know when, where and which ones who will use it in daily life.
I'm really happy to get more and more apps for blind.
Do any of you have tips, ideas or templates you can share with me as I try to communicate with app developers regarding accessibility issues? Like most of us, I don't know the language of the app developer, but if I download some app and I see a problem, I need to report it to them. I have one app that has a weird layout, and I have another that just needs to get an update to improve Voice-over support. I want to advise these people, but I want to know what to do short of taking a course in app development. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Anyone have any tips orrecommended bots that can make navigating Discord for a first time user? I say first time, but I've dabbled with it before, but it wasn't enough to remember anything except how to DM someone.
Hav VoiceOver users tried live-streaming to IG or FB? If so, please share tips or tricks to making this a smooth and successful experience? What got me down this rabbit hold was setting up and trying Livestream to Facebook or Instagram on Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, which wants to connect to the glasses sometimes or start go live sometimes.
The joy and fear of having an IPhone at last in your hand is awesome! More when you've been hearing podcasts for the last 3 or so years, visualizing how you'd do the gestures while listening to the audio demos, and visualizing all the neat things you can do with one of these.
This came true for me on July 12 of this year, only weeks after being able to briefly, try out an IPHone IPhone at the equivalent to an Apple store here in Mexico, called Mac Store. The experience of being able to work a talking phone out of the box was awesome!
Having not seen this mentioned already on here, I am wondering if it's something specific to my configuration. But here goes anyway - for what feels like since iOS 14 was released, VoiceOver's image description feature insists on telling me that nearly every image is a screenshot of a weather forecast.
This is primarily when viewing images in Twitterrific, as this is my main use case for this feature.
So, is anybody else seeing this or something similar, or is it just me?
