I recently purchased an IPhone 6 plus and when transfering from my 4s to the 6 plus I noticed that timely wasn't working. When I tried to find it on the ap store I couldn't find it. I had a sighted friend take a look just in case I was doing something wrong. They couldn't find it either. Does anyone have any information?

Hi,
I don't even know if this is possible. I'd like to get a timer app that has an alarm where I can choose the ring to happen only in my headphones and not in the speaker of my phone. Is this possible to find?

Thanks.

Jim

Hi all, just thought I would post a tip for those of you who like me sometimes have to forcibly shut your phone off with the home and power buttons held down together. I am sure like me you frequently have problems working out when you have held the buttons down for long enough, and either you release them two quickly, or even worse hold the buttons down for two long and put the phone into recovery mode which I have no idea how you would get out of without sighted help. Anyway I recently discovered a nice trick for working out when you have held the buttons enough and can release them without

This is a tip on how to make small adjustments in the slide fields used four settings like music volume, VoiceOver speaking rate etc.
A friend didn't know about this and so I wondered if perhaps others didn't too. Apologies if you already knew about this.

Just a quick tip for people like me who like to listen to nice sounds in the background: Nature Space is an app which provides super sound quality for nature sounds. It can run in the background and uses its own volume. I don‘t like Audioducking very much and so this is a great solution. Right now while I‘m writing this I listen to a forest in the morning. Really relaxing. The app provides lots of sounds like waves, camp fire, rivers and much mor. I‘m not connected to the developer.

I'm writing this on behalf of a friend who is going through this problem where at random times, whenever they'd bring up an app, part of the screen gets covered with a 3d stack of tips pertaining to Shortcuts, and we're trying to figure out how to stop this from happening. It seems like the only way this 3d stack gets killed off for a time is to power the iPhone down. He's using an iPhone SE2, with iOS16.4, and yes, he is a voiceover user. I've never seen this issue before.

Hey guys,

So I just signed up for applevis, and I love the site and what it represents.

I have some questions about taking pictures. Are there any tips and tricks for aiming the camera correctly to take pictures of people or objects? I know the iPhone camera gives you a little bit of instruction. Like it'll say face at the top edge of the camera or something. Where do you want that face for it to be a decent pic?

Hey, all,
Hope every one had a good Christmas and if you're in the nature-made freezer box like I am, then, I hope you're staying warm and safe. I have a question that may seem odd. However, I'm in kind of an odd place.

Hello everyone.

Coursera and udemy seem inaccessible at first because of how the apps list their courses. And yes at times there are glitches.

The good news though is they do both work. And I have one tip that works both in Coursera and udemy. And of course both have free courses you can take at no charge whatsoever.

Once in the courses navigation differs a little. I have found Coursera to be more accessible in navigating courses once joined than udemy. However both work and work well all things considered.

So what are my tips?

hi all
99.9 percent of the time, I use braille screen input, and absolutely love it, however, sometimes I would like to be able to type on the on screen keyboard, and when I do would faver direct touch typing, the problem I have is, I'm just not very good at it!!! Anyone got any tips? Obviously I can touch type, but put a touch screen in my hand, and all that knowledge seems to just not matter. Any ideas or suggestions appreciated

I will be doing some traveling that will require me to fly in order to reach my destination. Can somebody give me some tips about the best way to protect the i-phone on the plane so that when i get to where i'm going, it won't be in tons of peaces. Will the i-phone be erased if I put it through the x-ray thing at the airport?

Hello.
I would like to get better at typing on the on screen keyboard. Quick typing is not an option because this is in swedish. I cannot seem to get the hang of it and I know lots of blind people who th:ink it is a piece of cake. Any tips for me to be able to do this efficiently? This is a very stupid question, I know. I am using braille input on screen but would like to do touch typing fast too..

So, today, I tried using Apple Pay for the first time in 2 different stores.

I had very limited success.

The issue was that I couldn't get card readers (in either store!) to read my phone when it was both near and even on top of them!

Practically every other blind person I hear about tells all of us how EASY it all is!

So, am I missing something?

Any tips/tricks?

Hi all,
I'm in the process of upgrading from an iPhone SE 2020 to an iPhone 16 Pro, and I'm having a really hard time using face ID. My sighted mother had to help me set it up because I couldn't get it to work, but I've tried to unlock the phone several times since getting it set up, and only somehow managed to get it to unlock once. Does anyone have any tips for getting the phone to unlock reliably using face ID?

Hello everyone

I manage product accessibility at Intuit and have been working with the TurboTax team to make the web site and apps accessible. I wanted to give you some tips for this year's taxes.

TurboTax Online and TurboTax iOS should give you a great, accessible experience. I haven't found any serious bugs in the past few releases. That being said, I always appreciate feedback: [email protected].
