Ever since I got my IPhone 6S in summer 2019 and got interested in listening to podcasts, the native Apple podcasts app has never ever notified me of upcoming new episodes. I still continue to subscribe to new podcasts and it annoys me that I miss out on them simply because the app does not notify me.

Hi all. Have we lost the ability in the main weather preinstalled app to know what phase the moon is in? I enjoyed knowing when it was waining or waxing and full and other things like that. If this can be gotten back, could someone show me how? Thanks.

Hello. Taptapsee is a fantastic app and I use it frequently for color, currency, and object identification. I was very excited to see the addition of an automatic bar code scanning feature to taptapsee. I tried it out today, with some difficulty. I needed assistance from a sighted coworker to orient my phone exactly over a bar code on a box of protein shakes. Taptapsee spoke the bar code without me needing to take a picture, but the bar code was all that was spoken. The repeat button did not reread it, and the product was not identified.

Apple today released iOS 6.1.3 to the public, delivering several minor enhancements including a fix for a passcode security bug.
What is not certain at this point is that at one point there has been discussions about implementing some security fixes that would break the current process of jail breaking your device. So if anyone has any knowledge if this new version will no longer work with the current jail breaking process let us know!
This release of the NEW IOS 6.1.3 is for all devices.

I find the new Emoji Search box in iOS 14 easy and consumer friendly. Unfortunately it does not work correctly when I use my bluetooth keyboard. When I double tap to type a word in the Emoji search box, the cursor jumps back to the message body and the written word appears incorrectly in it. Does anyone experience the same problem?

I used Uber today and saw something very interesting. Now since they updated again, I hope this keeps being done. As my car was aproaching I noticed it told me how many miles away it was. even down to the hundred of feet left. I hope Lyft does something similar. It helps when you can't see the map that you can still know where the car is.

Finally, the wait is over patience has paid off,
Finally checkmate based jailbreak has been released,

As the app was in the beta testing for more than two months some people may already know what the new version is about.
But during the beta period features were not publicly announced, that has happened for the first time just few days ago on the App Store.
This isn't just another update. It isn't even another big update. And it is hard to provide the comparison, but if you take any of the competing apps and their cumulative updates in the last 5 years the shear size doesn't even come close to this.

Okay, I only have an iPhone and therefore have no idea on MacOS. So we once had these old compact Siri voices with their premium variants available for download. The first iOS version to have included them must be 8 or 9; don't really remember for sure. And then they were replaced with larger, more realistic but less responsive counterparts, which in turn, as far as I know, have recently been replaced with much smaller AI-powered versions.

When Voiceover is on I always have trouble getting the onscreen keyboard to appear. I don't have this problem in other text entering places, I just tap and the keyboard comes up. But when I open a Note item I have to tap and tap and tap. Often triggering some kind of editing function like paste. Is there a specific gesture for summoning the keyboard in Notes?

Have some here in this forum tried the app called Play-Fi with VoiceOver, and can tell me if the app is accessible with VoiceOver or not?
With the app you among other things can setup some amplifiers and stream music etc. via the app.

I was talking to a friend Stephen Giggar some of you might remember him from the talks days. He said you might be able to customize what voice over does and doesn't speak. I'm posting this example to show what can be done with the Voiceover dictionary.
On the Status bar it says cellular 3 of 3 bars signal strength I wanted to change this so I did this:

I have strange screen behavior with direct touch typing mode. As a way of typing text, I have been using direct touch typing for many years. I have an iPhone 10 with the latest version of iOS 16, I have an iPhone 12 with the latest version of iOS 16, I have an iPad mini 6, with the latest version of iPadOS 16, you will say that A possible problem is that the devices are not updated to iOS 17 .But I also have an iPhone 15 pro and the problem persists.

When i open a chat with messages, not positioned me to last unread message.
Positioned me many messages back that I already read.
The ios 8 did not have that problem. A problem occurred when I crossed the ios 9

I have an iPhone 13, but when I'm on a phone call, voiceover speaks when a notification comes when the phone is close to my ears and I'm speaking through the speakerphone.
On my old iPhone se2, voiceover used to stop speaking when I got the phone close to my ear.
Is there any fix for this problem? It gets a bit annoying and destracting when I'm on a call.

I use distopia a lot and have noticed that Voiceover is able to read texts in photos with pretty great results.
I used to use Seeing AI but it kind of broke.
You can also have Voiceover read text on an image in your photos app, it's great!

Has anyone else noticed this? The ringer on my 4S is considerably quieter than it was. A friend of mine who works for Apple has noticed it, and I have noticed it too when I've been on the train with other iPhone users and have been able to hear their iPhones ringing, but not my own. I have slept through the iPhone's ringer three times since updating, and that was never the case before in over three years as an iPhone user. I've done all the really obvious things to save embarrassment, including checking the volume of the ringer and alerts, and it's all as it should be.
