I am an experienced VO user, but there are three things about texting that I just don't understand. The problem is that most of my friends are older and don't text, so when I do text someone I am out of practice.
If I compose a message, below the "To" field there is an "add contact" button. If I double-tap on it I'm in my contacts. But when I doubletap on one of them I get the regular contacts screen, and if I double-tap on the number of that contact, I'm now calling that person. How do I actually insert that contact in to my text?
I just noticed that the three finger swipe isn't working to go back to the previous page in Safari. I haven't seen this bug before today. Has anyone else noticed this?
Hello, I only found out about this topic from the audio games newsletter this morning, and find no mention of it on this site so far. Iām posting in this forum because one out of three is a game, and the other two are practice and observation. Echovis has three apps that are new, among others theyāve got about magnification. Anyhow, Echovis streets is to help you know when to cross the street with just your ears. It's not clear how many levels, as Iāve not gone through it all yet.
Recently apps like āBe My Eyesā and āSeeing AIā have added the ability to generate image descriptions using multi-modal Large Language Models (which can understand and generate both text and images) like GPT4Vision. Iām sure everyone has tried them, but for anyone who hasnāt, hereās the description I got by sharing a Toot to Be My Eyes this morning:
Hi all,
Those of you who have seen my previous posts concerning ThumbJam are aware that I'm still farily new to the app. I was wondering if by any chance there are any podcasts out there that demonstrate how to use ThumbJam with Voiceover? I've read through the manual several times, however being the auditory learner that I am, it would help me imensely if I could hear how it's done, especially for things such as creating instruments and setting up midi controlers such as the iRig Keys. Perhaps it's just me, but there are some things that are not as straighttforward to me as they seem.
Hi,
Can those of you who own a copy of Thumbjam music app please confirm the following?
1. Start Thumbjam on your device with iOS6 installed.
2. Tap "Prefs" in the bottom right corner, then select "MIDI Control" from the pop-over menu.
3.
Hi all,
Having updated to the latest version of iOS 7.0.4, I have discovered that ThumbJam is no longer accessible with Voiceover. When I click on the Sound button, for example, the Voiceover focus moves automatically over to the play area. When I try to click on the button a second time, it automacally selects one of the options in the sound category. Have any of you noticed this, and have any of you been able to figure out a work around?
Thanks in advance!
Kind regards,
Siena.
A fair amount of us blind VoiceOver users are into high fidelity sound that music streaming services, like Tidal provide. Based on this video there are 5 things required for TIDAL MQA iOS Apple Setup.
The 2 things I'm curious to hear what others are using, recommend, and are best for blind VoiceOver user are:
A recent update to the Tidal music streaming application has rendered It useless for Voice Over users. Track names can no longer be read by VO. Tidal refuse to refund my subscription so I have contacted my bank for a refund. spotify music streaming works well with VO in comparison.
Tidal version 2.9.1 seems to have the same bug that appeared and was fixed last year. VO does not read track names in playlists, just says ābuttonā. Anyone else having this problem?
I have a problem logging into my TikTok account, it keeps asking me to drag the slider to fit the puzzle piece, which I canāt do because Iām a blind user. It doesnāt really work with voiceover anymore. The app was not accessible originally anyway
Hello. I'm having a problem with my iPod Touch 6th GEN. I reset it a while back and when I get a notification VO will read the time as 1:12 instead of 1:12 PM. The only way it reads properly if I clear out my notifications. My wife had this issue when she had her old iPhone 5 C. Have anyone of you had this issue after a reset or backup and restore? I've asked on FB etc. and nobody seems to have an answer to fix this. Thanks.
Hi,
This is something I've just noticed, and I wanted to share it here and see if anyone has picked up on this.
When working with multiple apple devices, I noticed, that when checking the time in the status bar, on the iPad and on the Mac, the time is the same. However, on the iPhone the time always seems to be one minute behind. I was thinking it could just be the version of the iPhone that could have that issue, but I checked it with other versions of the iPhone and got the same thing.
OK guys, this is a really weird one! Running iOS 10.2 on my iPhone 6 with the latest version of YouTube, nothing time-related seems to work when the app is open. First, say its 12:55 PM when I open the app and I spend five minutes in the app. The time display at the top of the screen should say 1 PM but it stays stuck on 12:55 until I navigate away from the app. Even worse, if there is an alarm set to go off while you have YouTube open, the alarm will not go off! I often fall asleep to a YouTube video so I learned this the hard way when I woke up late the other day.
Hello everyone,
I have downloaded Hokusai, and over all find it to be a great app. But, there is one area that is giving me fits. I need to be able to do a time stretch on certain tracks. However, there seems to be no real way to enter exact time desired in hours minutes and seconds. Only a slider, which is not letting me get the precise time I need. Itās really a mess. Iām just wondering if I am missing something here, or is my perception correct? Have any of you figured out a better way to go about this?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Hello all. Could you help me to find accessible time teller likes timely? It has removed from app store right? So, is there any accessible time teller like that? I need to find time teller App that can tell me a quarter hour, half our, and an hour. Like timely did. Thanks for your answer.
Has anyone used Time Warner's phone to go ap and if so is it accessible? Also, if anyone has used it does the ap include a data plan that can be used with the IPhone or is it just for forwarding calls and other things from your home phone to your cell phone while you're out and about?
I recently purchased an iPhone 5C, and everything was fine. However, a few days ago, I noticed that there was something wrong with the time.
I actually thought I was late because, according to my phone, it was 4:37 when it should have been 3:37. Apparently, it had automatically switched to the Eastern time zone, when where I am is in central.
Someone I know had the same problem with their 5C, and they just turned off the setting to change the time zone automatically. If the setting is turned on again, it goes back to the other time zone.
I have use the TimeGlass app for many years, after learning about it on AppleVis. The usability on both the iphone and ipad has been deteriorating since ios 16. I am finding it completely unusable since upgrading to ios 18. The controls are read but they cannot be activated. I have asked a sighted person to test the app and it works fine with Voice Over turned off.
