iOS and iPadOS

A very interesting article to read. Would be very promising for us if the developers take this new policy and adopt it to their apps. Would benefit us so we can find out if it work with Voice Over before actually having to purchase it. Time will only tell if they would implement this in all apps. A good start on behalf of Apple but I would like to see this more mandotory. New iTunes Agreement Hints At Upcoming App Demo Strategy BY A.T.

Hi all,
StarzPlay has relaunched as a new streaming service called Lionsgate+. At time of posting, you can get a 30 day free trial to begin with. After that, it's €4.99 per month where I am.
Has anyone tried it yet and how are you getting along?

If you've been experiencing issues with yesterday's release of lire, you may want to give V1.9.23 a try. I'm grabbing it here and it apparently fixes yesterday's bug.

Like the subject says, there is a new list specifically for Voice Dream Reader. Apparently it was started by the new developers. When I last looked, it had 47 members. I've heard that there have been responses from the developer on this list. To subscribe, send a blank message to:

Hi folks,
I just download the latest Lyft update,
and I opened the app and can't figure out how to change from lyft to lyft plus.
Also there some unlabeled buttons on the payment screen and on the first screen I found two buttons that say idel pickup background and idel idel pick mode closed.
Maybe they have some to do with requesting different lyft types but voice over does not do anything when I double tap on them.
I am on an iPhone 6s with ios 9.2.
Thanks
Carlos

I found a free money reader last week. I tested it on a few bills and it reads very well. The program is called EyeNote, and is by the bureau of engraving and printing. Yes, I know, I ought to find the time to submit these properly, but till then I thought you should know.

Many have lamented the fact that the KNFB reader isn't available on the iOS devices. Lament no more! Text Detective has just been released to efficiently take care of all scanning and OCR needs. It uses your device's camera to scan and OCR text. Once properly aligned with a document, and raised about a forearm's length above it, it will scan silently and notify you when text has been found! The process is quick, and you will be able to read clean crisp text with your device and this app. Enjoy!

Hi all, Just thought I would post this to say sendero seem to have released a new free app called people finder light, which isn't on the applevis ios app directory yet. I would submit it myself but although I can find it on my phone easily I can't find it using google so that I can get the app store link. The app seems accessible, though I have nobody I can test it with. I did notice one issue with it and that is in the settings part of the app it wraps around to the last control if you keep flicking to the right but that's the only accessibility issue I have found so far.

Hi, Applevis!

!

I've enjoyed your podcasts covering IOS 15 in all its glory. :-)

I do have a couple questions though.

Hi all:
I just learned that in iOS 17, there are several new ringtones. My opinion is, it's about time! The old ones are still there under Classics.

Hi Guys,

Just noticed that if you get a FB post with a photo or attached text image there now seems to be a new rotor option that says "get detailed image descriptions" I'm sure this wasn't there before and the explore image is still there. Was wondering if this was an Apple intelligence thing as I have this on my phone. Equally strange and this maybe a fb bug now if you go into a post the photo is no longer there. I'm on iPhone 15 pro iOS 18.3 beta.

Hello
I am impressed with the two new Siri South-African English voices. They are crystal clear and exactly what I want using such a voice. I currently use the female voicewith VoiceOver and wondered when these voices will become available within Siri itself? I also discovered the mail voice pronounces the letter C as a D and the letters D, B V and P all sound like a letter D while typing in any edit field. Apart from this, especially the female voice is in my humble opinion one of the best voices ever createde. Congratulations.

Hello
I Make use of the new Siri female voice within Siri itself as well as with VoiceOver on my iPhone 6S and I like her very much. Unfortunately I find that she's a bit slower to response than the built in compact voices. Do anyone perhaps know if this problem is sorted with the releace of IOS 11.0.1, because I uninstalled her a couple of days ago?

Hi all.
I just did a search online for new voices for VoiceOver on iOS 11, and found that we'll have one, at least, one exciting new voice. The new American English female voice for Siri can be used with VoiceOver, and she sounds better than ever! I think she is the closest thing we have matching Ivona's TTS engine. I personally am really looking forward to this one!
Can't wait for next week, so thought I'd share this with you guys.
Meanwhile, take a look at this article:

MacRoomers have it that 2 new Siri English voices will be available in IOS 14.5. Just wondering if one will be able to use them within VoiceOver?

Hi everyone,
Sonos has announced that they will put out an update to the Sonos controller app for iOS on May 7th. The update will bring a new design, which often can cause great Accessibility state of the current version to break.
Are there any information on that topic? Will the update be as accessible as the current version?

Thanks

Hi all. I'm really wishing that Ios14 might have a new sound or two. Besides everyone's wish of new voices, or get rid of another voice, is anyone else in agreement we should have a few more sounds? I mean besides making a ringtone myself which I have no patience for, I'm unwilling to spend over a dollar in american for a thirty second clip. How many times have you seen people around go right for their pocket when the default old phone ring starts? or the Me?, look that people glance down. I don't think the sounds have been updated since maybe Ios4.
