Hi, Applevis!

!

I've enjoyed your podcasts covering IOS 15 in all its glory. :-)

I do have a couple questions though.

Hi all:
I just learned that in iOS 17, there are several new ringtones. My opinion is, it's about time! The old ones are still there under Classics.

Hi Guys,

Just noticed that if you get a FB post with a photo or attached text image there now seems to be a new rotor option that says "get detailed image descriptions" I'm sure this wasn't there before and the explore image is still there. Was wondering if this was an Apple intelligence thing as I have this on my phone. Equally strange and this maybe a fb bug now if you go into a post the photo is no longer there. I'm on iPhone 15 pro iOS 18.3 beta.

Hello
I am impressed with the two new Siri South-African English voices. They are crystal clear and exactly what I want using such a voice. I currently use the female voicewith VoiceOver and wondered when these voices will become available within Siri itself? I also discovered the mail voice pronounces the letter C as a D and the letters D, B V and P all sound like a letter D while typing in any edit field. Apart from this, especially the female voice is in my humble opinion one of the best voices ever createde. Congratulations.

Hello
I Make use of the new Siri female voice within Siri itself as well as with VoiceOver on my iPhone 6S and I like her very much. Unfortunately I find that she's a bit slower to response than the built in compact voices. Do anyone perhaps know if this problem is sorted with the releace of IOS 11.0.1, because I uninstalled her a couple of days ago?

Hi all.
I just did a search online for new voices for VoiceOver on iOS 11, and found that we'll have one, at least, one exciting new voice. The new American English female voice for Siri can be used with VoiceOver, and she sounds better than ever! I think she is the closest thing we have matching Ivona's TTS engine. I personally am really looking forward to this one!
Can't wait for next week, so thought I'd share this with you guys.
Meanwhile, take a look at this article:

Hi everyone,
Sonos has announced that they will put out an update to the Sonos controller app for iOS on May 7th. The update will bring a new design, which often can cause great Accessibility state of the current version to break.
Are there any information on that topic? Will the update be as accessible as the current version?

Thanks

Hi all. I'm really wishing that Ios14 might have a new sound or two. Besides everyone's wish of new voices, or get rid of another voice, is anyone else in agreement we should have a few more sounds? I mean besides making a ringtone myself which I have no patience for, I'm unwilling to spend over a dollar in american for a thirty second clip. How many times have you seen people around go right for their pocket when the default old phone ring starts? or the Me?, look that people glance down. I don't think the sounds have been updated since maybe Ios4.

I'm the founder and developer of Voice Dream Reader. I recently came across a piece of new technology that can take existing audio books and play them back at any speeds. Here're some samples:

Hello IOS Discussion,
I have an iPad Air 1 with keyboard attached and VoiceOver which was added by the store when purchased in November. Some problems that I request your assist with:
-Unlocking screen. Currently seems to lock within 1 minute after initiation. Is it best to set this to "never lock" and then manually do this task henceforth?
Is the unlock and lock button the same as wake/sleep?
-Setting language to English only. My sighted wife used the slider to aid me and VoiceOver went into different languages.

Hello all,
My name is Jeff. I'm blind and a recent convert from Android to iOS. Rapidly losing my vision pushed me to iOS, and it's clearly superior accessibility features.
Kinda feel like I'm drowning a bit with a new device, new OS, new features, etc.
I'm struggling a bit with VoiceOver and hope it's ok to ask a couple of questions about it.

I just got my new iPhone 5 yesterday. Though I have had an iPod Touch 4G for a while, I am totally new to the phone part of the iPhone. I am wondering, does the iPhone, with VoiceOver on, automatically read the caller ID of someone calling or do you have to find their number on the screen before it will read it? If it does read it, is it easily hearable over the sound of the ringtone? If it is not, there a way quickly and efficiently to mute the ring tone and have caller ID read aloud?

Hey everybody, I was excited when i clicked "updates" in the appstore and found that Read2Go finally had an update. This is the only one since I bought the app a few months ago, and the first one since January if I'm not mistaken. If you use the app you're aware of the issues it has and the numerous improvements there is to look forward to.
