need help with MyFitnessPal

By Troy B, 10 August, 2019

iOS and iPadOS

How do I use MyFitnessPal to enter what I eat? Is there a list of foods that I haven't found yet and if not how do I enter them? Also does the app calculate the calories or do I enter the number of calories in each food I eat and the app just keeps track?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Search for food

You journal the foods you eat in the food diary. By default, there are 4 "meals" listed, (breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks) although you can add others. Once you've selected the meal for which you are wanting to add food, there is a search field where you can search the database for the food you want to add. Enter as much detail as possible to narrow your search. Even with an exact match, you're likely to get dozens of results.

You can also add food manually if you don't find a suitable match. And if you're using an iDevice with a camera, you can scan the product bar code to add the food.

By default, MFP tracks macro nutrients (carbs, fats, proteins) and calories, but you can add other nutrients if you want to track them. MFP will keep a daily total as well as show you remaining values based on your goals.
