Is it possible to run GPS apps on an iPod Touch 5th Generation using an external GPS receiver? If so, does anyone know of an app with route recording capabilities (i.e., has bread crumb feature) that would work well for walking and can be used successfully with Voiceover on an iPod? Thanks! Dave V

Hello. I have a few questions about GPS apps that probably, people might know a lot more answers than I do. So, to begin with, my parents have a stand-alone gps. Theirs will allow them to type in an address, and then give them directions to that specific address. It will also allow them to search for a place, such as McDonald's, or even if they can't type in the place they can look within, say, a 10-mile radius or whatever, and they can choose a category and then find the place they want to go to. The categories are very specific, for example, fast food, Italian, Mexican food, etc.

Has anyone had experience with Grain Science and Sylo Synthesiser? They are by the same developer as Hokusai and I am wondering if they are as accessible as Hokusai? Trying to decide if I should buy them or not?

Hi there,

One more question for you! Does anyone know a good accessible way to grammar check on iPad? I know about spelling; I'm looking for grammar specifically!

Thanks!

Hello
The Grammarly Keyboard is a touch screen keyboard that automatically corrects spelling and grammar errors. Does anyone here know how accessible it is with VoiceOver?

I'm just beginning my iPhone journey as a blind user. I've noticed that Speech Rate Adjustments within the Voiceover function can only be made at increments of 10%; at least that is what I am encountering so far. Unfortunately 50% is a bit too slow and 60% is too fast; at least at this stage of my journey. I'm a veteran JAWS user and can deal with a very accelerated speech rate under normal circumstances but until I am better acclimated to iPhone and Voiceover I would like to know if there is a way to make Speech Rate Adjustments in lower increments than 10%.

Hello Applevis.
I was wondering if you know of any apps that you can draw graphs with. I am taking a statistics class this year and I want to work paperless. Have any suggestions?
I know that parts won't be totally accessible to a blind user, but I do have some vision.
Thank you for the suggestions.
Have a great day.

I am in an advanced math class and will be enrolling in another one next year. I need a graphing calculator or a scientific one with advanced functions. I have seen a few apps in the app store for both, and am wondering if any of them are accessible with VoiceOver. I have some graphing calculator software installed on my computer, but it isn't very accessible. Does anyone know of an app or a stand alone graphing calculator that is accessible?
Thanks so much,
Holly

Hi all! I just gave the app called Great Courses a try on my iPhone 6 Plus. I couldn't set up past creating a user account. The mobile site is not accessible past being able to reading it and clicking some of the links. The buttons are not accessible. The app is not a help either until you are already set up barring creating a new user account. Have you also incountered this problem?

Hello.

I am looking for accessible apps that have either the Greek New Testament/Septuagint and/or the Latin Vulgate.

I’ve tried locating these versions on apps like BibleGateway but I have had little luck finding them there.

(Incidentally, I reported a bug where I get English for Latin on BibleGateway and the tech support guy told me to ā€œrestart my phoneā€, etc., etc. šŸ˜)

Anyway, thanks for any help!

IOS6 seems to have created some problems with regard to the Greek TTS used in the voiceover feature. The new version of the Greek TTS Alexandros used in IOS6 speaks incorrect and/or ungrammatical Greek. In addition to this problem, there are issues with regard to phonemic accuracy and intonation. Consequently, using the iPhone as a reading tool for Greek, is no longer possible. Those users who speak additional languages, have been able to at least use their phone. However, the users who are only Greek speakers, can hardly use their device.

The new IOS update fixed the voiceover issue with Greek. Voiceover users who are Greek speakers may now understand their phone once more. Words are not enough to thank the people responsible for this pleasant change for the better. Our quality of life has changed too. Thanks again. Maria Georgakarakou.

There is an app called Groove Maker 2 that is free today: I recently saw someone post it to the app directory, but I can't find it. Anyway, it's free.
I have intended to bring up this subject, and when the entry for Groovemaker 2 was posted, I was going to discuss

Has anyone else noticed that Group FaceTime has had some issues since iOS and iPadOS 14.2 came out? I have noticed that I cannot access the Card Controller on calls, I cannot turn off my camera after entering a call from the FaceTime App. I may have to enter calls from the message thread for now on. I am a VoiceOver user and I thought I would share what I noticed here. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thank you!

has anyone used the group me app with success? I am having trouble. Once someone sent me a message with it and it came across as a text and it was fine. I don't know how to do that. I thought that might have been an option but I can't seem to figure it out. There are unlabeled buttons in the app, so I thought the other way might be better so I could use with messages. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi
How do you view group members in public Facebook groups using the app? Double tapping on people button doesn’t activate it.
Thank you

Hi,

I'm looking for an app that I can use to easily send text messages to a large number of people on Christmas for example. the default messaging app will only allow you to send a text message to 20 people at one time but there's apps that can get around that.
Any suggestions appreciated :)

When voiceover announces that notifications are grouped on the home screen, I can't open them, how do I set it up to work. I have iOS 16.3.
