iOS and iPadOS

Hey all,
I was very frustrated and was about to get rid of my ring system as the new app is very cluttered. I was no longer able to answer my door in a timely manner do to the clutter. However I found a work around for this and it will allow you to answer the door the old way by doubletapping the notification, swipe down to accept call like you use to be able to do.
Here's how I changed it:
1. double tap on the hamburger
2. swipe until you hear new features and double tap on that.

Hi, After resetting all my iPhone's default settings, I've finally discovered how to stop VoiceOver from jumping around whilst in share-sheets and certain apps, i.e. the App Store, Mail, Facebook, etc. If this bug is driving you as balmy as it has driven me, try out the following, I'll be interested to see if you have success, as I have. Go to:
Settings;
Accessibility;
Keyboards;
Then under the first heading which is:

Hi All, I was changing a ringtone in one of my contacts. I discovered a setting called "Emergency bypass" which when turned on will allow a call from that contact to go through even when "Do not disturb" is on. Maybe you all knew about this but I thought it was pretty neat. Had to share.

Hi all,

Well, following the demise of my SE2020 (as well as the expiry of its warranty) I have come over to the dark side and joined you Face IDers. I now have an iPhone 13 and while I remain a Touch ID purist I can tolerate Face ID in the character of a reasonable albeit slightly unreliable ally. But since this change I have three issues and i can't work out what's causing them. None of them is a deal-breaker but I'd like to put them right if possible:

I'm the developer of Four Down, a crossword app for iPad. During development I spent a lot of time trying to make it as accessible as possible using VoiceOver. I'd love to know what the AppleVis community thinks of it, particularly if there are areas where the accessibility could be improved so that I can try to address them in a future update.

If you'd like to try out the app, here's a few promo codes that you can use. First come, first served:

For using People Detection, I'd thought that I need to turn on Magnifier on accessibility settings.
But, it's not needed.
By four-finger triple tap on any screen, People Detection screen appears.

I checked it on iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 14.3, in Japanese language setting.

How can I add a bus stop in FourSquare? I was told go to check in & then just below search was add in the app. But is this gone in the newest release? Help Thanks Mike

Hi all. I went to check in to a place last night using the newest Foursquare. It told me that among other things, the options to tell people where I am have changed, and i was only sharing mayorships and badges to facebook. does anyone know Where I can fix this? I'll take another look in case I missed something. Also for accessibility, the Facebook button when tapped says selected, but still says off button. Thanks for any help.

Hi, before making fool of myself with Foursquare developers, I'd like to hear from other visually impaired users about new Foursquare interface. The new update, 5.0 of foursquare, gives a 3-pages wizard where to press next, then next, then checking the box to enable posting to facebook's timeline if desired, then press close. The next window, has the foursquare logo.

The blind community needs to email [email protected] and praise the heck out of them. What they've done is 100% better than it was. There are still a slim few unlabeled buttons, but it's really no net loss, as they're pretty easy to figure out. They had released an update which compromised accessibility, but they have redone things quite marvelously.

Can someone far more learned than myself please explain why one would want to have both the FourSquare app and the Swarm app? What is the difference in the two? Thanks for any help.

Post Date:

Hi all. since it looks like now Foursquare wants you to use swarm, it isn't that accessibile for me. I'm sure they will update it, and hopefully add accessibility improvements. Does anyone have any tips to use it better? I tried checy, but it onl showed my home places, granted I was home at the time. when I tried using it out, it didn't seem to refresh. One last question has anyone gotten status report to work with foursquare? I can understand people using it to see where their friends are but what could you send to it via status report? Thanks for any help.

Hi, anyone has suggestions for free iOS apps that are accessible for tracking workouts?

I'm only looking for some basic features like the ability to add exercises to workouts, edit the number of reps, sets and weights and mark them off as I complete my workout.

Although there are many free options out there, its feels impossible to find one that works well from an accessibility standpoint. There are some that almost work, except that they don't work with Voiceover for adjusting reps or sets and the like.

Greetings.

Are there any accessible apps to ask doctors questions for free?

I’d like to ask a minor question, just out of curiosity, and all the apps I’ve tried so far have some critical inaccessibility issue.

Thanks.

Hello, my name is *Philly Eye and I’m looking for a truly free bible app that isn’t cluttered and easy to use and deal with. The “Bible,” app from: Live church TV; isn’t as excellent as it once was. Can anyone advise me or point me towards a really good free or even paid Bible app? Seems that VO users are getting a raw deal, usability is going downhill with all the updating. “Go E.A.G.L.E.S.”

Hi,

We make a great app for practicing playing or singing along with audio, with simple repeat and set list controls.

We had some help from AppleVis members in the past improving our VoiceOver support, and we have a bunch of free promo codes to give away to say thank you, and these are only valid for 3 days so get them quick if you need a great repeating music player to help you learn things.

The topic stats it all. Sure I could go and look for it in the directory of apps, but I would ratter ask here for simple and free examples of somewhat accessible and not accessible apps that are free, cinse I need to include them in a presentation I will be doing shortly.
I don't own an Ipad so I will have to give the list of apps, it does not need to have more than one or two of each of them and they will uinstall it on an ipad, so this is why it does need to bbe free.
Thanks,
Marlon
