Hello Community!

I have tried various Apps.
When it Comes to turn by turn Navigation, I use Blindsquare and Google Maps. But I dont like it when Google maps tells me to take the right, when the Destination is on the left side. I would prefer to know the turn after the next turn, i.e. take the right, then take the left after 200 meters.

What are your prefered Apps? The Apps should also work in Germany. And how do you deal with difficult crosses?

With best regards,

Firebird

Dear all, I have just purchased text grabber and to be honest, I did not have much success with it. At best, I could scan a line of text. Therefore, I would like to ask your opinion on the best OCR app for a totally blind person with iPhone 5. Do you need a portable scanner or a stand for the iPhone? Would that help with text grabber? If not please would you advice me on the best app to purchase? Thank you once again for your help. I hope I can be of some help to you in the future too. Best, John

I have a variety of the available OCR apps one can get on the iTunes store. I am looking to use OCR to help me identify which of my movies have a free digital copy and then to scan the inserts of those that do offer this so I can get the instructions for redeeming and the code included that one enters in the redemption box in the iTunes store. I know that all of the apps have their own strengths and weaknesses and I am not too familiar with these factors since I have yet to make much use of the apps.

I was wondering what are people's thoughts for the best Podcast app available on the iPhone and Mac?
is it still downcast or are there other apps now out there?
thanks

Hi,
Me and my family decided to get me a secured credit card for the holidays to help me start building credit.
For those unfamiliar, a secured credit card is when you give the bank a set ammount of money ($200) and you are able to use that money and you half to pay it off.
What banks/apps do you recommend that are accessable and are blind friendly?
Thanks in advance

I’ve been trying to use the standard Twitter for iPhone app, but I’m finding it frustrating for too many reasons to count here. I’ve even heard from some of my sighted friends that it’s not a great app to say the least. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good Twitter app? I’m looking for one where I can easily read the most recent tweets, like, reply, and retweet them, easily compose my own tweets, and get notified when new tweets come in. I’d be grateful for any and all suggestions.

Scanning flash cards (500 x2 - both sides) instead of having to type into Quizlet (helps child as she uses it to have tests and books read to her) but it is extremely time consuming to type in all the info. There is a app on iphone/ ipad that takes picture and then convert it to PDF and email to user into her iPad so she can use Read2Go or VoiceDream to read it back to the user. What other ways? Suggestions?

WhatsApp web is tedious as heck in safari, and there is no official WhatsApp for iPad OS.

Does anyone know which if any of the third party apps are accessible?

Thanks

It's world Emoji day! So it got me thinking, what's the easiest way to find emojis using voiceover? There are so many. I liked how it worked before, when there were separate pages of them. Thoughts?

Hello guys,

Well I bought a magic keyboard the other day to hook up to my iphone SE. I am a lawyer and wanted to be able to take notes during a trial, and then use voiceover later to have the phone read my notes. When I was messing around with the "Notes" app that comes on the phone, the problem I ran into is the voiceover would read the entire document instead of stopping after my first note. My thought was that I could have the voiceover read the first note and stop, and when I was ready to get to the next point i wanted to talk about I can just swip the screen.

Hello all. Is it better to install a new IOS over an old one or to do a clean install. I know clean installs work better for computers so wondered if that were the case for say an IPad or IPhone? If it is better to do a clean install what are the steps someone should take to do that aside from backing up the device?

Hello, So I am late to the Netflix game. I have read the Netflix iOS app entry and it seems that accessibility may be a mixed experience? What is the best way to use Netflix? Via the iOS app or via an Apple TV? Is one more accessible is what I am asking? Thanks.
