I'm staying with a family member who doesn't have a stable internet connection, forcing me to use my data. In this area I get 3g. While trying to stream netflix or youtube, the video pauses and restarts every few seconds. Having said this, what is the best way to watch netflix and youtube using this type of connection and not be forced to restart the video?

Hi all,
I am looking for a good weather app to alert me of civere weather. It would also be nice if it had a weather radio included. Does anyone know of anything? I have heard of weather alert but from what I've heard you can't custumize your weather alerts and it's not very voiceover friendly. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know!

Hello everyone. First of all, I have gotten permission to post this, since the developer is in a different country and can't post on Applevis do to technical issues.
Anyway, he wants blind users, especially musicians, to test out this app in beta form for IOS. I don't want to spoil too much, but basically it allows you to read with Voiceover sheet music. It's very accessible so far. Very interesting concept... according to the developer, he's planning on releasing the app in a few weeks.

Good afternoon. I have been using Youversion to read the Bible on my iPhone. I updated to the latest version the other day and now I am not able to find the search box to search for a reference or key word. Is there another accessible Bible app anyone would recommend? Thank you.

Hi, all, I learned from an entry in the directory of this site about an app called Bible.is. I downloaded it because I liked the plans I thought it provided. After downloading and looking around, however, I find that there are no devotionals/Bible study plans with this app. I was interested in a Proverb a Day devotional and 40-day Bible plans, so does anybody know which app has these particular devotionals? I already have the Bible gateway and Bible app from life church and to my knowledge, these devotions aren't a part of either one of these apps.

I, amongst many, have been using the Bible Youversion app. Earlier versions were very accessible. Version 4 lost some access. Version 5, currently, is completely unusable with Voiceover.
Warning, If you haven't, do not update!
I am attempting to contact known people at Youversion, to make them aware of this. I am technical director of Torch Trust, and we publish data on how to use Bibles. Any comments would be useful through this site, or additionally to Torch Trust.

I'm with this big bug active on my phone, and I'm very surprised that no one talks about it, and even more so for not being even part of the applevis website bug list.
this damn big bug is affecting me a lot because I use voice dictation a lot.
I ask you please give some feedback on this damn bug...

Hey guys, I have my language and VoiceOver settings set to German. Sometimes I'm reading English content like Reddit or browse Safari and I switch to English from the rotor. However as soon as I touch a toolbar or status bar, or the screen changes like going back a page in Dystopia, VoiceOver constantly switches back to the default German and I have to manually revert to English.
I know it's a longshot, but is there a way to prevent VoiceOver from doing this?

What apps do you use to remind you that bills are due? There must be apps that you can add your electric, comcast and cellphone bills to, and they will send you a notification to let you know it's time to pay the bill. Any ideas would be appreciated.

A few years ago, I got an app called Bird Song Identifier. It was fairly accessible and had a labeled button to record a bird song for identification. Now that it's Spring, I'd like to use it but the recording button seems to have disappeared. What do you all find to be the best, most accessible app for this task? Thanks. Lou

I have been reading the numerous posts regarding birding apps but wanted to get recommendations from other users. I thought that the Birding by Ear system was available as an app for iOS; but I couldn't find it. I have the Peterson Field Guide for Birds of North America, which contains the name of the birds and then their songs. That's what I had in mind for an app, nothing too difficult or with a lot of useless features to a totally blind person. I mainly would like to refresh my memory on all of the bird songs. I am using an iPhone 5 with the latest update.

I haven't used this app yet, been looking for a good Bluetooth mic (as per my post in the Hardware forum, no responses yet) to use on the iPhone with the app.
Has anyone used the BirdNet app? I do also want to catch (record) some local birds and share them with a sighted friend for fun. Is Voice Memos ideal for this? Or would another app be better suited for recording bird songs?

Hey all!
I think Facebook moved birthday again. At least I think they moved the today's birthdays again at least. I can see upcoming birthdays when I go to the hosting tab in the events section, but today's birthdays are nowhere to be seen.
And I know I have birthdays today because I went looking for today's birthdays for yesterday & thaj was when I discovered that today's birthdays were moved, but I seen I had birthdays for today in my upcoming birthdays. Sorry if that makes no sense.

I’m having an odd issue when copying and pasting in iOS using voice-over.
The issue is that when I select some text to be copied, and then choose the copy function from the action rotor, voice-over will read out previous text that I have copied in the past, however when I then paste it, it reverts back to the current text.
I’m just wondering if anyone else has had this problem.
