iOS and iPadOS

hello. I often use the audio player in Safari on iOS to listen to MP3 files downloaded
from the Web. One of my frustrations in using this player is that I've not found a good way to
fast forward or rewind through such MP3 files. I just learned there is a control on the media
play screen which VoiceOver says is adjustable and which is called a scrubber. Visually, this
is a bead on an abacus bar that the sighted user can push left and right on the bar and, as

Hello all: I’d like to tell you about a problem that I’m having with Feeddler RSS (the free version), and a FeedHQ account on my iPhone 5 running IOS 7. The thing is that, every forty seconds more or less, VoiceOver plays a sound indicating that the screen has been refreshed or loaded and VoiceOver focus goes back to the beginning of the screen.

I can't get the FitBit app to monitor the steps that I'm taking on the treadmill without forcing a sync every time I want to know the total. I'm wearing the FitBit Zip and using the app with VoiceOver on my iPhone 5. I listened to David Woodbridge's podcast about the FitBit Flex, which I realize is a different model. But as he walked on the treadmill, he could count the steps just by flicking to the right and then back again. Perhaps, this isn't possible with the Zip using VoiceOver. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? I would certainly appreciate it.

I see that Google is now selling a Chromecast Audio device that can be used to cast audio from your device directly to an audio system that uses 3 mm audio jacks such as a home stereo.

I'm just wondering how easy it is to cast audio from apps on an iPhone and what is involved. I use my iPhone a lot with AirPlay to devices which support AirPlay, but I don't know of any AirPlay devices at $35 that will connect directly to my stereo. so the Chromcast Audio is of interest.

Thanks for any advice or experiences casting with an iOS device to the Chromcast Audio.

Due to the reported unreliability of the built-in Apple Maps on iOS6, I downloaded the Google Maps app. Most features seem to be accessible - I can set my destination, various profile settings, etc. However, I cannot activate the button to start getting voice feedback from the Google App so that it gives me turn by turn directions when trying to help my wife navigate in the car or when I'm walking alone. After putting in my destination, my sighted wife indicates that there is a "Start" button in the bottom right corner of the screen on my iPhone.

Hi. I'm trying to figure out Google Sheets on the iPhone, with and without using a bluetooth keyboard. I'm sure it's just that I'm really tired and missing something obvious, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to input data into cells. Doubletappingb only selects it, and another doubletap brings up menu options. I'm flummoxed. I got the impression from the Google accessibility section on using Sheets on iOS with a BT keyboard that some of the mac keyboard commands would apply to the phone as well.

hi,
Is there a way to use google tts with voiceover? I know that apple allows to connect third party tts to voiceover on ios 16.
I'm especially interested in the hebrew voice that google offers. I know that it does work with talkback on android
I didn't find a tts app on the app store. does anyone know anything about it?

In past versions of iOS, I could use the Handwriting feature to enter my security code to unlock my iPhone. The Handwriting feature is still available in 9.2 but does not seem to be available for unlocking my iPhone 6S. If I'm using Apple Pay and my thumbprint doesn't work to unlock my iPhone, I have VoiceOver reading out my security code to everyone in earshot (not always convenient to be carrying earbuds around). Anyone have any updated info on use of Handwriting to unlock phones. I have emailed Apple Accessibility to see what they can tell me

Hi. I am having an odd issue with the last few versions of the Hulu app for iOS and would like to know if someone else who uses Hulu would verify this.
I am using the latest version of the app, which is 4.3.2, on an iPhone 5C running iOS 8.4.
When I double-tap the "browse" tab on the bottom left hand corner, there are several options, one of which is "genre."

Hi there I am using IBooks on my IPad to read pdf files for study. I want to be able to stop reading a page, go into pages and make notes, then resume where I left off. I have tried double tapping with 2 fingers and pausing the reading, but whenever I move away from the page view, it takes me back to the beginning. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Paula

I was looking for an RTF editor but maybe I should ask just how to use iCloud Drive because that may be my trouble.

With iCloud Drive enabled on all devices, how does one add or access a document using an iPhone or iPad? If I try to add an RTF document I get an error message saying it failed to import, it must be in plain text.

I've tried Text Editor as well as Voice Dream Writer (which apparently cannot import RTF).

Would appreciate it if someone could walk me through the basics. The end goal is to edit RTF documents. Thanks.

Hi,
I'm a blogger and would really like to create a YouTube channel to go alongside my blog. Does anyone have a tutorial on using iMovie on the iPad with VoiceOver? I can find them on the Mac, but none for iPad.
On the iPad I'm struggling to find things such as split, the event timeline and the option to add music.
Any help would be appreciated!

I have installed IOS6 on my iPhone 4S and everything is working well. I understand that the revised MAPS application has Turn By Turn directions and I understand too that Voiceover should be able to interact with it. I tried setting up a location to go to from my current location and tapped Start. Walking my route, I heard no directions. In the iPhone Settings, under MAPS, I ensured that Loud Volume was set. What am I doing wrong here? Could someone give me step by step instructions for setting up MAPS to work with Voiceover?

My iPad has a sim card slot. I would like to use it.
I know I cannot call, but that is not a problem because I never do that and have other things. Is it possible to text? does not matter very much because I can use other things but does texting work?

I'm using my iPhone with an Alva BC640 braille display. I'm wanting an app that will allow me to store notes and do searches (preferably via a hotkey) in those notes in Grade II braille. I've tried AccessNote version 1.2, but I can't search in Grade II Braille, and it takes too long for me to move from one line to the next with my braille display. I'd love to hear any solutions to this, even if it involves continuing to use AccessNote. Thanks! Dave
