This release should be hitting the store shortly and hopefully fixes the notification problem.
Important: this is the first update from our new company Weather Gods Ltd. We've had many issues trying to get the update to the store. I'll try and describe the process and then the problem we have had.
Just a small update appearing on the app store shortly ...
1. We have improved the location tracking of the watch complication when running a GPS location. As a result of the tweaking, you should find the follow me notifications a little more reliable as well.
2. The weather not updating when resuming the app has been fixed.
3. Finally, the GPS location in the app will also update when the app is resumed.
Just a quick reminder ... to enable the watch complication in GPS mode:
Our 1.8 release should be hitting the store by now.
It's taken longer than we expected, Siri proved challenging with Voiceover for us, but I think we got there in the end with the help of our iOS12 beta testers.
- Support for new iPad Pro models
- You can now toggle notifications for individual locations
- Voiceover users now have access to the latest observation - you will find this after the current forecast label.
- Fixed the widget not always working on the iPad
- Chinese localisation
- Many bug fixes and performance improvements throughout.
Our latest update should be hitting the App Store shortly.
The main change for this update was to improve the weather description in the notifications for rain, snow and thunderstorms. Previously you would receive "Light Rain" even if it was just a few showers or drizzle. Hopefully more useful.
Weather Gods 2.0 has been approved by Apple and should be hitting the various stores soon.
There is a lot that has gone into 2.0.
- Severe weather alerts for the USA, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Spain, Greece, Norway and Italy. I may add other European countries depending on demand. Canadians can choose English or French for the alert text.
- There are two new Siri shortcuts. You can ask Siri if there are any weather alerts for your current location, and ask Siri for the current weather conditions.
Just a quick post to say that Weather Gods 2.2 will be hitting the App Store today.
The main changes are bug fixes, especially around iOS13, localising warning information and the Siri Watch Face.
I'm still working on porting Weather Gods to the Mac - it's a slow process, also being found by other developers as well.
As ever, if you're enjoying Weather Gods but haven't left a review on the App Store then we would love to hear your feedback please. There is a direct link in Weather Gods settings.
It's been a long time and I hope everyone is well and taking care in these difficult times.
After six months of work, Weather Gods 2.4 is finally done.
The reason for taking such a long time is I had to re-write the app from the ground up in order to support current and future iPhone and iPad devices released by Apple. The old WG was hand-crafted for every new device Apple released and Apple have informed their developers that all screens have to adapt and they wont accept new updates from apps that don't do this.
Important. We will be switching off the IBM data service on October 31st. I realise it's earlier than November 14th but I would like to avoid IBM charging for a full month of data when we will only be using half of it. Please let anyone know who hasn't yet upgraded.
Latest update should be hitting the App Store in the next 24 hours.
The main update is full support for iOS14 widgets, in small, medium and large configurations.
The widgets can be customised for any of your favourite places, edit the widget and choose a place from the list. If you don't have any favourites then the last location you viewed should be in the list.
The widgets update on average once an hour, sometimes sooner, but out of our control - it's down to the device.
This one has one new feature and a critical bug fix.
The new feature is that widgets now support current location. If you edit the widget you will find "Current Location" in the list. Setting this will mean as you move locations the widget automatically updates for the new location. A bit like our follow me feature.
You can still add other locations by adding additional widgets.
The bug fix is a critical fix to a crash that occurred when viewing UK or French weather alerts.
This is an important update as it paves the way for subscriptions.
Please check the about page in settings as this will tell you which kind of subscription the app thinks you are entitled to - everyone should get premium.
The plan at the moment - to be tested in the next beta - is to automatically grant a life time premium subscription to users the app identifies as having previously paid. The mechanics of how this happens are still to be determined, but I will share with you when I know more.
