iOS and iPadOS

Hi!
Just wondering if any of you can reproduce this, before reporting it to Apple.
So the thing is, if I'm playing audio through my AirPlay device, in my case the Apple-TV, and then for what ever reason turn VO off and back on again, VO will then speak through the AirPlay device.
This happens both on my iPhone 6 and on an iPad Air 2, and both are running on iOS 9.2

Hi everyone,
Whenever my alarm goes off on either my iPad or iPhone, voiceover speaks very loudly until I swipe to the stop button. Once I double tap stop, it begins speaking at normal volume again. I'm not too sure, but I think this problem happens when the phone rings as well, and sometimes, Siri's volume is unpredictable as well. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi all.
I have a strange issue that I've never had before.
I need to record podcasts with demonstration of different apps with VoiceOver, and recently I started to have the issue that when iPhone is connected to mixer via it's litening to 3.5 adaptor the speech of VoiceOver doesn't start from the beginning, the volume of it rases from low to high. And it sounds like you connected bluetooth headphones or speakers to iPhone. As the result the beginning of VoiceOver's phrase cuts off, like one second.

I am running Hi Sierra (latest update) on a 2011 iMac. Of late, I noticed that Voiceover runs in jerks and spurts. This is especially annoying when I use the Read All (VO + A) command. Besides it keeps saying 'Voiceover Settings Activity'. Some poster recommended running the killall command in Terminal but that seems do nothing to VO's behavior. I have even tried changing voices to no avail.
I am wondering if my machine is too old or is there something I can do to prevent this annoying behavior?

Happy New Year to you all and thanks.

I used to think the old days when VoiceOver would crash and restart quite often were finally over, but the issue is back. I've been having the very same issue ever since I updated to either one of iOS 17.1 or iOS 17.1.1, and the latter sounds more likely to me.

I can turn VO on and off on my iphone, but she doesn't say anything anymore, only sound effects. Same thing on my ipad. Is there a bug in a software version? I am updating now to see if it helps, but I see no other complaints about this. thoughts? thanks

Ten days after upgrading to iOS 15.6.1, VoiceOver stopped speaking. The gestures still work, and I get haptic feedback but nothing else. However, if I'm on a phone call, Voiceover works normally until the call is ended.

Also, if I ask Siri a question, I can swipe over the screen and here VoiceOver read any text that is present. But, if I try to switch to an app, VoiceOver stops speaking again.

Yeah. Suddenly voiceover went silent for apparently no reason. I was trying to go to the home screen with the new sweep gestures, when it happened. I tried restarting it but I still get no voice. Has anyone experienced something like this on? How did you fix it?

One of deafblind members of our community brought us her iPhones so that we could perfom certain maintenance tasks she requested. One of them is iPhone 5S and second is iPhone SE 2022.
Both devices lost connection to her Braille display and both provide no speech, only VO sounds can be heard. Since we never faced such issue before we are puzzled and have no idea what might cause this. I know about sound curtain feature in lates iOS, but this is not a case since all sounds are working except VoiceOver speech.

Hi, for the last 2 years I have had my voiceover randomly stop talking and just make the sounds. The fix is to turn on and off the voiceover. I am currently using an iphone 8 with the latest ios 12.1 something as of today. Same issue. Apple has had me reset this phone and my past 6s and 7. No resolve. Does anyone know if they have ever soved this. Some friends I have have the same issue also. Thanks, Chris

Over the last couple of weeks I have noticed VoiceOver getting stuck in the headset rather than coming through the speaker when I remove headphones. Is there a setting I can check to see what is causing this? Since I typically use headphones with my device I am not totally sure when this started but I know it is been going on for at least a couple of weeks and just in the last few days it is almost impossible to get VO back through the speaker. Siri seems to be coming through the speaker without any issue but once you release the button, VO goes back into the headset.

This is an issue I've only seen mentioned briefly, and that surprises me. I'm still on iOS 16, but I've updated the phones of family members. If anyone remembers what happened to Eloquence in later versions of iOS 16, that seems to have affected all the other voices in iOS 17. The only way I can describe it is that it sounds like VO is stuttering, or tripping over itself. I noticed this most often when scrolling quickly, through apps like Safari, Facebook and Amazon.

the strangest thing happened to me after unlocking my iPhone. My voiceover for what ever reason switched to the earpiece and I could not get it back on speaker. the only way for me to fix this was by restarting my phone. Has this happened to anyone else? If so, have you figured out a fix or a possible reason for this?

Hello

Am I the only one who cannot stand voiceover continue talking after pressing the play button to watch videos or play music?
I think it is quite obvious that we don't want to hear voiceover continue talking unless we touch the screen again.
Your thoughts please.

Cheers

Dave

I have an SE third GEN running 18.5. Yesterday I discovered that the volume buttons weren’t working to turn the voiceover down. I reboot rebooted the phone, but when it came up, nothing would talk. I could feel the haptics, but no voice over. VO came back after a few hours, thankfully. But, nothing else will talk. I opened the radio station app that I have and it would not play. The book I was reading on bard will not play. Several other things will not play. Is this fixable, or has my phone reached the end of its useful life?

Happy New Year all! For years now I've really wished for a way to have Voiceover's speech come through the IPhones speaker/out instead of through the Bluetooth output which the phone is connected to. This has never been a possibility with iOS and Bluetooth. It is a possibility when Airplay over Wifi, and through Apple Car play (wired connection via USB) Now in iOS 13.3 something seams broken. When I connect my IPhone 10S to a Bluetooth 3.0 a2DP Audio device, Voiceover and SIRI audio comes through the phone, while all other audio comes through the paired BT device.

I am using an iPhone 7 but have had this problem with my 6S before getting the 7. Voiceover keeps jumping back to the top of an article or list of products. Ex. 1. In the News app while reading an article VO will either stutter and jump back to the top or just jump back to the top of the article. Ex. 2. When searching on the Amazon app and getting a list of results Vo will jump periodically to the top result, even if I am quite a ways down the list. I can touch the screen and it will usually jump back close to where I left off, but this is not the case in the News ap.
