iOS and iPadOS

Hello everyone. I am working on an app called Perspective AI. This app will use Apple's built in OCR functions to detect objects and read text. The app is in beta currently, and I wanted to share the TestFlight link with everyone here. I am really excited about this app as I think it has given some of the best results that I have ever seen in an OCR app. The app is completely offline, and does not require the internet. Feel free to email me at [email protected] if you would like more info, and we also have a Perspective AI WhatsApp group to discuss the beta.

This is not an app that you will find in the App Store. A previous app called iTether was removed from the App Store after only 20 hours because Apple did not like the app's use of the tethering feature that cellular providers charge around $20 a month for. Because the app was removed, the developers had to think outside the box in order to offer this feature to iPhone users. To do this, they created an HTML 5 version of the app. For the details, go to tether.com/iphone. The service costs $30 a year as opposed to $20 a month, saving you a possible $210 a year.

99% of the time I get an alert when somebody sends me a text. But there are few contacts where I don't get an alert and only by checking my messages can I tell that they texted me. And Before their message is read by Voice Over, it says muted. So I know they have to do something to unmute their texts. But I can't remember how to explain to them how to unmute their alerts. Suggestions?

Do you feel VoiceOver is more snappy with the release of iOS 13.2? Reading through lengthy Pages documents is much less messy and entire lines are no longer skipped.

Hi everyone, I'm looking for some suggestions of text editors on the iPad. I am currently using notes with my alva for inputting text, I love the simplicity but am looking for something a little more. Would love an editor that has a simple layout, folders and the ability to use air drop. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I've been using Plain Text as a simple text editor with Dropbox integration, but I don't know how to search for a specific text string in whatever file I have open. Is there a way? If not, do any of you know of another accessible text editor with a search feature and Dropbox integration? I don't require a fancy word processor with all the bells and whistles, 99.99% of which I'll never use. Just a simple text editor. Thanks.

Hi all. Does anyone know if the text affects in the roder works? I highlight text in the messages app and I go to the text affects option in the VO roder but I can't even use it. I flick up and down, nothing, left and right, no dice either. Using IPhone 13 here. Double tapping just moves the insertion point to the beginning or end like it always does. I know there's the button but shouldn't this work too? Thanks.

Hey guys. I have found a few great apps for taking pictures and identifying objects and text. I have also found some great apps for describing pictures in my camera roll. But I was wondering, does anyone know of an app that will read text from my camera roll? For example, if i took a screenshot of a document, is there an app that would be able to read the contents of the document? Thanks!

after upgrading to iOS 17, almost every text message says it has failed. I have to go in and resend them as text messages, and then they usually go through. Has anyone else had this trouble?

I'm having a weird issue with text messaging. When I text someone I don't hear the wooshing sound when I hit send nor does it say delivered, seen, etc. Is this a bug or is something wrong with my messaging app? It appears though my friends are getting them so I guess that's good but I have no indecation they are actually being sent. 5s with 9.3.1

Hi, How do you use the spell checker function in the text messaging app? I would like to know how to cancel a suggestion or to choose an alternative or to add a word to the dictionary. Also, I've set voice over to touch typing mode and I've noticed it takes a while to type a character when I move my finger over it. If voice over says a character and i move my finger straight off, then the character isn't printed. Any suggestions on how to speed up text entry would also be appreciated.

I am on iOs 13. In the oiceover settings there is a toggle button that says text panel on or off. what does it and I would like

When the caption panel is turned on in voiceover, the text read is incorrect. Instead of "savings of 250$" it reads "savings of 50$" for example. Is this a known bug in iOS?

Greetings.

On my iPhone 6, running iOS 8.2, I get a second new text notification 2 minutes after a text arrives.

For example, here is the sequence of events.

Phone is locked.
Text arrives, and I hear the "Ding" and text message details. It says something about New Text message, now.
The phone auto locks and goes back to sleep.
I do nothing.

Then, I will hear, New Text 2 minutes ago, in a second notification 2 minutes later.

This is consistent. Is it also normal?

It seems whenever I select text in iOS 7, I can only select two lines at a time no matter what I do. This has nothing to do with rotor behavior. Quick example. If I do a pinch out once, the first unit of text is selected--lines, words, characters--whatever I have it set to. If I do a second pinch out, the next unit is selected. If I repeat that a third time, VoiceOver repeats the unit I've just selected, and says "unselected". It's maddening indeed to only be able to select two units before deleting, cutting, etc. This is true of my iPhone 5S and my iPad III, both running 7.2.
