Is it possible to set a shortcut to turn screen brightness to 0 when Voiceover is toggled on, and up to 60% when it is toggled off? The few times I ever need to turn VO off is so I can have someone snap some pics or videos for me. So, having screen brightness automatically adjust would save me some time as I wouldn't have to go in and adjust it both before turning VO off and after turning it back on. I don't have any experience creating shortcuts, so a step by step would be much appreciated.

Has anyone found a work around for the shortcuts app? I'm running IOS 18.0. I tried to make a personal automation, but I can't add actions using VoiceOver. Has this been reported, and is there a work around?

Hi,

Since the release of IOS 18, the UI for creating/editing automations in the shortcuts app has changed, and I can't quite wrap my head around it. I've already figured out that creating automation requires you to set the trigger as normal, but then to long-press on the "new blank automation" button, which will finally bring you to the shortcut editor. However, when I apply that same workflow when trying to edit a preexisting automation, I end up with an empty automation with no actions.

Does anyone have any pointers for what to do in this instance?

Thanks!

I am a VoiceOver user, have been facing multiple challenges with the Shortcuts application on my iPhone 12 running IOS 17.5. I am listing them below, in your comments, if you have experienced any, do mention and lets get this discussion started.

I recently got an iPhone 15 Pro, and now I can't run any shortcuts that ask for input of any kind outside of the shortcuts app. They all work fine when I run them from inside the shortcuts app, so I know they're set up correctly.
When I try to run them from the homescreen it gets stuck any time the shortcut should present a choice or ask for text input.

My shortcuts don’t work via Siri , I set them up, they worked for a couple of days, and now they refuse to work via Siri, the shortcuts them selves work fine, any ideas?

It would be great if someone could post a Podcast, covering the Shortcuts app and how to put together a series of linked tasks, which can be triggered by a SIRI command. I have had a look at the Shortcuts app, but cannot get very far at present.

Do you have a playlist you are building over time?
An Apple Music playlist of all your favorite songs that now contains hundreds of tracks?
Below, you will find shortcuts which can be available from a menu on your home screen, to shuffle this Apple Music playlist, and play the Apple Music playlist in reverse, a play cue that contains the 50 most recently added tracks.

Hello,

I made a shortcut with the shortcuts app that records audio and uploads the recording to my dropbox.

When I open the folder on the iPhone app I can find the .m4a files. But when I try it on my windows computer the folder is empty. It looks like there is a syncing problem. I can see the folder I made in the shortcuts app but there are no files inside the folder.

Is there someone who have the same problem?

I recently got an iPhone 13 Mini and have been in the process of setting it up since Tuesday. I have noticed that when notifications come in and I hear them on the lock screen, they don't give as much information as my 8+, and unlocking my phone just to read a complete notification is something I'd prefer not to have to do. Is there a setting I need to change so the complete notification will be read out on the lock screen?

Hello,

I’ve heard a lot about tweetings.

Ideally, I want something that works on my phone, watch, and iPad. Tweetings has not been updated in awhile. The last update to the iOS app was 6 months ago.

I’ve also noticed that the App Store reviews for it aren’t that great either.
Does anyone on here use it?
If so, what is your experience?

Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated.
For those who are curious, the app is a one time purchase of $1.99.

Hello,
Should I close the apps that I don’t use on my iPhone or should I leave them running in the background? Which is better for the battery life?

Hi:
Since I am planning to get a new phone I am not going to update my Iphone 6.
My question is; if I buy an Iphone 8 or 8plus that already has IOS 11 installed will I still have the same accessibilities issues that I have been reading about? Or will they be minor issues. I don't use a braille display. Thanks.

Hello.
Messed up my free trial because I had to have my phone on repair. What do you think? Should I get the full version?

Hi all. I'm still running iOS furteen something. I'm wondering if I should upgrade to the latest version of iOS? What do you like or dislike about the new version? What are your favorite new features? What bugs have been fixed and not fixed? Thanks for any advice.

Hi: I am wondering If I should update my IPhone to the newest IOS software now? I have waited before updating because I wanted to read all of the topics and forems on this website on the new software. I have looked and read thehm all and I am still not sure. I get both the pros and cons but from what I see most of the people who post have the 5, 5S or 5C. I have the 4S with 16GBS. I would be interested to know if anyone has any information on how the IOS 7 does on the 4S. Any tips, ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. Nancy

Hello AppleVis community!
I have an iPad Pro 9.7, which is still on iOs 9.3.5 and I'm considering upgrading it to the most recent version of Ios which is 10.2.2, as I did on my iPhone 6, which seems really slower than on Ios 9. . I'm always afraid to apply any updates before reading opinions and experiences of people who use it, so I did a big research on forums and blogs.

Based on comments I read when iOS 8 was first released, I chose not to upgrade from iOS 7 on my iPhone 5. Now that iOS 8.3 is released, is it time for me to upgrade or should I continue to use iOS 7 for now?

I do not use any Braille features and seldom use a BT keyboard, although I do use one from time to time. I haven't felt that I needed any of the new functionality to date, but with the new Voice OCR app which requires iOS 8, I wonder if it's time to upgrade. If I do, what drawbacks and issues should I be aware of? Thanks.
