Skype have just released version 4.0 of their iOS app. Mentioned in the release notes is "Improved accessibility".
I don't use Skype myself, so can somebody who does please let us know how far these improvements go.
iOS and iPadOS
Hello applevis list. I downloaded and installed Skype for IPhone 5.0. It seems to be very accessible all buttons are labled. All tabs are seeable using VO. Everythig looks to be good. That is juswt my opinion of course.
Hi all. First, is it better to combine questions like this, or to post separately? I'm combining to try and reduce spamming the forum, but they are totally unrelated things. Anyway, on to the questions, the joy!
First, Skype. If I'm not in Skype, I get no notifications whatsoever. This is on latest iOS and with the latest Skype, which I just installed today. I have push notifications on, I have push notifications for multiple devices on in both Skype on iOS and Windows. So far as I know, I'm set up correctly, and I should be getting them.
I'm not new to skype, however I am new to skype on iOS, so I was wondering if someone could tell me if 1, it is possible to see the online contacts only?
And 2, is video messaging accessible? When I try to send a video message, voiceover stops speaking altogether.
I exit back to the home screen and speech returns, when I go back to skype, it goes away again.
Am I doing something wrong?
I thought this thing is suppose to be accessible.
It does seem to be, for the most part at least.
Any help would be appreciated.
Hi all,
I want to start using Skype on my iPhone 7 running the latest IOS, and I know how to answer a call but how do I make a call to somebody in my contact list, and how would I read any chat messages that I might receive and how would I send chat messages myself?
Thanks.
Hi,
When using the Skype app, once I have entered a contact's info to see their status or call them etc, it is impossible to get back to the contacts list. There is no back button. The scrub back gesture does not work either. There are no tabs along the bottom to back out of the contact to consult the contacts list again, or do other things in the app.
I am using IOS 5 on an iPad 2 and iPhone 4.
Maybe I am missing something obvious, but is this a know problem?
Hi, what is a good app that allows you to record long skype calls through headphones, for the ipod/iphone/ipad?
hi all,
i have been using the voice messages in Skype for iPhone since 3 weeks ago. The thing is that I notice a huge difference between the volume of my messages and those from my Android Friends. my messages sound very very low and I have been looking for some setting control to change this, or trying to delete the App and reinstalling it but the issue continues happening.
I think that my iPhone is not the problem cause this doesn't happen while using my WhatsApp, so is not my mic. I'm using an iPhone 7 red.
Has someone had this same problem
hi all,
I signed out of Skype last week on my iPhone 8+ and when I attempted to sign back in, Skype crashed. Successive attempts yield the same result. I have tried restarting the app, restarting the phone and uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Does anyone know of either a workaround for this bug, a third party way to access skype chats, or anything of the sort? Really any information on what I can do from here would be very welcome.
Thanks,
Tangela
High, do sleep cycle alarm clock and sleep Talk recorder work at the same time? I'm thinking of getting sleep talk recorder and I use sleep cycle as my main alarm clock. Can they work together using one microphone? Thanks
Hi to all,
Is there any app you know of that monitors your sleep, has a sleep aid, wakes you up at the right time in your sleep cycle and records what you say in your sleep? I know I'm high maintinance but I really need an app that does this. There are plenty of them out there, but I haven't found one yet that is accessible with Voice Over. The last thing I want to do is spend my money on apps I can't use, which is exactly what I've been doing! Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Hi Guys, was wondering if anyone knows the answer to the following question. When you set up sleep focus you can choose people who can still phone you during that time period. At the same time you can also choose apps that can notify you during the period. The weird thing is in the apps options the phone app shows up. So, the question is if you select the phone app does that override the people you choose? I.E all calls will come through. If so what is the point of the phone app being an option to choose? Or do the two things work differently and if so how. Confused lol.
Greetings applevis
I use to sleep with a sound in my ear, I use my airpods together with a ambient sound, along with my everyday stress this is how I manage my sleep to recover my daytime stress,
What are you guys using for those who with me that has sound while they are sleeping, what are you using?
I preferred an ap with an alarm and timer to handle my sound while I'm sleep.
any recommendation are very much appreciated!
thank you
Hi, I am now downloading sleep cycle smart alarm clock after trying other sleep tracking apps. I didn't want to use sleep cycle based on there yearly price but I find based on the applevis review and the audio walkthrough that it is more accessible than other apps of this nature. My thing is have people found other apps of this nature to be accessible or do many of you just use sleep cycle smart alarm clock? I am so frustrated that accessibility is on the back burner for apps like sleep pillo and sleep better.
I just upgraded my phone from an 11 to a 16 E and I’ve been using an app called Slickdeals for years. It’s always been extremely accessible and easy to use on the 16 E they no longer are offering away that I can find to convert the app back to a list view. It only offers a grid view which doesn’t work well with voice over in my opinion it’s funny to me that the app is fully updated on my old 11, but it looks totally Different. For instance, the search bar is at the top on the old phone but now it’s at the bottom on the new phone is there something I’m missing.
I have an iPhone 7. Sometimes when I get a phone call Alex tells me to slide to open. I don't understand what I am supposed to be sliding. The two finger double tap doesn't work, and I wind up missing the call. Does anybody know what this is? It might have something to do with face time, but I'm not sure about that. thanks
