Having regularly plundered this website for information, I have finally got my A into G and registered. My wife is totally blind and uses JAWS with Windows 10 and Voiceover on her iPhone. We have tried numerous ways of sharing lists so that we can nag each other, even when apart, the most recent being Wunderlist, that came very close to actually being useful.
I have a quick question about Microsoft Word. I created a folder called test docs when I first installed the app & was figuring out how to work it. But now, I'd like to get wid of it. How do I delete folders on the Microsoft Word app? I use the latest version of ios., & the app on my ipad. Thanks in advance. I hope every one is having a good holiday!
Good afternoon. I installed Microsoft word on my iPhone. What are the commands to use word with voiceOver and a braille display. I would especially like to know the commands for find, tab, center, and italics. How do you save a document, and where is the best place to save it? I have some files that are the doc format. Can I change them to a docx format before I edit the document? If I am not able to do any of this on my iPhone 6s, should I buy an iPad, and if so, what model? thank you.
I read on www.macrumors that Microsoft released iPhone versions of Word and Excel. I decided to give the Word app a try. To my surprise, I haven't found any unlabeled buttons. VoiceOver hints are pretty well done. Has anyone else given this app a try? It can even save and open files from dropbox. I'm quite impressed with this version and hope it is a good sign to come for the Mac version of Microsoft office. Of course, O won't be holding my breath.
Hello,
I have a couple of problems with Microsoft Word for iOS.
1. when I create a new blank document, VoiceOver does not show me the text area where to write. I see everything, including toolbar with character change, color, and so on; but not the blank area!
Same if I attempt to edit an existing document.
2. The rare cases I manage to access writing area, input braille screen seems not to work, not to give voice feedback while writing.
I have two online accounts: office 365 and dropbox.
Hello,
As I love to write stories, I was looking for an app who responded to all my needs: write, save documents, and sync between all platforms -Windows included-; I have read many threads about this here, then I thought I had the solution under my fingers: Word, with my Microsoft 365 subscription.
But, there is a but: on my iPhone and iPad, Word gives me many serious issues (iPhone 13 pro max and iPad mini 6th generation with latest iOS stable release).
First one:
I create and start writing the file on my computer and save it on OneDrive.
This problem is happening on my colleagues phone as well as my own. When using the Microsoft Word app on our phones, mine a 15+ and his 15 pro, we are unable to enter text reliably with a Bluetooth keyboard if we go any faster than typing a few words per minute. It seems that if you are typing quickly every few words a character or two will be missing. Does anyone else use Microsoft Word on iPhone and see this problem? Or do you use it without a problem? This problem seems to be happening with multiple kind of Bluetooth keyboard so I don't think it is specific to that.
Is there any way to play midi files on the iPhone? I like these files because they are small and, if the instrument pack is good, they sound good. Also, is there any way to use these files as ringtones?
Hello everyone. I have a question. I just bought a new iPhone and I’m trying to migrate the data from one to the other. I am putting the two iPhones nearby and they find each other. Then I click on the old one and click connect but it just says connecting. I put the iPhone for the want to see the camera of the other but it doesn’t register. And I cannot find an option to enter the code manually. After a while I get an error. Any help? I search the forms but they don’t find anything useful in this regard. Thank you very much for any help.

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if the Iphone/iPad version of Minecraft was accessible for someone totally blind to play with voice over? I saw a youtube video of someone totally blind playing it on a PC, so I was wondering about the iPhone app? It is around $10 Canadian so I don't want to pay for it until I know whether or not it is something I can play?
If anyone knows and can help that would be great!
Thank you all
Does it work good with the safari browser on iPhone? Also I will be adding an issue on their github website, asking them to make an iPhone app for mini-gpt-4. Mini-gpt-4 speed and accuracy seems to have been greatly improved on my end, using the website online image describer. It lets me converse with images like be-my-AI does.
I'm not sure where to report this to, but I do want to let everyone who is still using the native podcast app know about an issue that seems to have somehow come in with either iOS 9 or iOS 9.1.
I know this really isn't a big deal, but when I go to open Twitterrific, it always tells me I have 1 new item. I've tried everything to find out what that new item could be... gone through tweets, mentions, and messages. Everything's been read, and still, I hear VO say, "One new item." Anyone have any suggestions?
Hi all. I just found out that Mint is shutting down on January 1. You can move to other services or to CreditKarma, but it doesn't have nearly the same features as Mint yet. I can't afford to pay for a budgeting app, at least not much, so I need something free or cheap. I'm looking for one that has features to help you keep track of subscriptions and bills, and allows you to connect your bank accounts so you don't have to add things manually. It would also be great if it has an accessible Web or Windows app. Any suggestions?
This morning over breakfast, my sighted spouse commented that her iPhone weather app displayed the temperature as "minus zero".
This immediately set off my Apple bug radar. The minus sign is used to denote a negative number. Because zero is neither negative nor positive, putting a minus sign in front of it seemed like a software bug. (Yes, as a former engineer, I know computers use many formats for storing negative numbers, such as a sign bit or two's complement. But for displaying decimal numbers, it makes no sense to put a minus sign in front of a zero.)
Hello. I was wondering if anyone knew of an app or other method to mirror one IOS screen to another IOS device directly, like an iPad to an iPad. The reason for this is for a low vision teacher to more easily be able to work with their students. The students would be working on their iPad, but the teacher isn't able to see well enough to read the screen over the student's shoulder. Being able to mirror the student's screen to another iPad would let the teacher use their own screen close-up to follow along with the student.
