Spotlight is one of the best, if not the best, features on the iPhone, and it hasnāt been broken in years. I literally use it for everything: calculations, calls, email searches, dictionary, messages, settings, and more. It saves a lot of time since I donāt have to open an app to search within it. However, guess what? It's partially broken with iOS 18.
The functionality is okay, but we have a few problems here:

Hello, I have 2 machines with iOS8: one is an iPhone 4s the other is a 3rd generation iPad.
Many, many bugs have been documented by all of us, and I am afraid to have found another one but, before listing it in the bugs dedicated topic I'd need a further test by other users.
This annoying bug affects iPhones and seems not to be present on iPad, and it appears when iPhone is connected to airplay devices wirelessly. Airplay, not bluetooth.
So, for example if you have an AQ airplay speaker, an apple tv or an airport express you may be affected by this annoyance.

I updated an iPhone to iOS 17. Now, when I go to move to next page of my home screen, it says.
Search Page 1 of 10
Before iOS 17, it would just say page 1 of 10

I have Macular Degeneration, and am experiencing visual distortion rather than blank or dark spots in my vision. I see wavy lines, and when I read the letters sort of ādecomposeā - pieces of them disappear, and I have to figure out what Iām seeing from context. Several months ago I was trying to read a label on something, and was using my iPhone magnifier app. To my surprise, the app not only made the print bigger, it corrected the ādecompositionā of the letters and made the print look normal to me.

On my iPhone and IPad for a while now the volume has been acting really weird, it is at a level and then when I recieve a message or an e-mail the volume shoots up! It also shoots up if I'm listening to some music or a podcast and I skip forward/back 15 seconds or change the track position. Has anyone else experienced this?

I am currently an iPhone user but am considering purchasing an iPad. I do understand that there are differences between an iPad and an iPhone, however, I am unsure if there are significant differences from a blind perspective.
If a person owns an iPhone or iPod is there any reason they should purchase an iPad? Is there anything that the iPad can do that an iPhone or iPod cannot? Are there any helpful iPad only apps?

hi all,
from past 2 to 3 days, i'm observing that, my iphone is not charging after 80%. I have tried turning off the "optimise charging" feature as well, but no luck.
currently on ios18. is this a bug on ios18 or something elce please let me know.

Hi,
I don't know if its a problem or not,but on my ipad mini, when I have my camra open,and it detects a face, it lets me know by things like small face,big face,0 faces etc.
but on my iphone5, it doesn't seem to be doing the same. I suppose Iphone5 was supposed to have that recognition stuff too?
So,what if anything am I doing wrong? and is there anything that I can do to fix it? if it even works on the iphone5 that is. but I do think that it does,as I seem to have read it somewhere on this site itself...
any help would be awesome.

I have a question. Is there a way to turn off the need to enter your passcode on restart if you have touch ID enabled? When I have to restart my phone i am always asked to physically enter the passcode the first time. Why do they do it? That's annoying.

On the IPhone8 is there a way if the phone is on vibrate mode using the mute switch is there a way when I get a text I can have the phone vibrate instead of tap me? Reason I'm asking because it's very easy to miss these taps if you are not paying attention.

Hi, all. I'm familiar with iOS on my iPod, but haven't used an iPhone much. I just got an SE with latest operating system. I set the phone screen to full-screen. I've used magic-tap to answer and hang up. I assumed media audio would mute when there's an incoming call. Unfortunately, with the in-call screen, it's awkward to mute the media quickly. Can someone tell me an efficient way to do this? i use hearing aids, and it's extremely distracting to hear media and phone-call audio at the same time.

Without any apparent rhyme or reason, the volume of my alarm clock and ringer will drastically change. I'll go into the sound settings and specifically turn off the option to adjust volume with the physical buttons, meaning there should be no way the ringer volume should change unless I specifically go into settings and change it. Then I'll set the ringer volume as desired. Seems fine but then the next morning my alarm will go off and blast my wife and I out of bed it's so loud. Is this a bug or is there a better way of enforcing a consistent volume for the ringer and alarm?

Hi,
When sending audio from my iPhone 12 pro to airplay devices such as my Linn Majik amp or Samsung TV, Voiceover speech also is heard on these devices. This didn't happen I"m sure when I used IOS13 with my old iPhone 10X Max.
I've checked that audio ducking is on as I read this could cause issues such as this.
Is this a bug with IOS14 or have I missed another setting somewhere?
Any help or advice greatfully received.

Hello and does anyone have any advice on how to use the kindle app? I tried and it plays just fine, but can't figure out how to get it to stop or pause or anything else. I have an Ipod 5th gen. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm using an iPod 6 with the latest version of iOS. I'm also using a Braille Sense U2 as my braille display and keyboard input device.
The problem I'm having is that when I am in an edit field, such as the message body of an E-mail or in a password field, I can't seem to input text unless I do a single-finger double tap several times on the iPod. This moves me back and forth between the start insertion point and the end insertion point. Once I do this, I can enter text. is there anything I can do to make this a smoother process?

I have noticed a strange issue with the iPod touch fifth generation behaving strangely.
I've been noticing that when powering down my iPod touch fifth generation, waiting for a few minutes after powering it down, then powering it back up, VoiceOver comes on, says the time and then reports that it's muted.
How is VoiceOver muted if I hear it speaking?

Can I please ask iPod users a question? I don't own an iPod but a couple of blind friends acquired one and they are having trouble bookmarking the talking-books they are reading. I don't know how to help them. They are also asking me for a manual in some format they can read. Can someone enlighten us? Thanks so very much...
