Hello all,
I regularly listen to audio books and audio I've extracted from tv shows I downloaded/wripped from dvds, ETC...
I wondered if there were any free iOS apps that support playing a track/album like in the music app but pausing it, marking it, coming back to it later or next time the app is opened even if something else is played after it.
Also good seeking and scrubbing is ecentual.
iOS and iPadOS
Using the native email app is it possible using voiceover to read an email without having every column and row number read out. Itβs annoying and time consuming.
Hello
I haven't been here for a long time and today I back to make a question regarding to
the native iOS podcast app
I am subscribed to few Podcast channels and are set to automatic downloads.
however since last week I haven't seen any new episodes in my library
This came after apple release the laters software update 13.6.1 I don't know if this is something to do with the later software version or just there not new episodes to download.
In Google Maps, you can receive directions to individual bus stops, at least in Sydney, Australia, where I live.
Are there any other apps which offer this functionality?
I wasn't sure where I should post this, so hope it is ok to post it here... Being Korean that uses the lunar calendar, I was very excited to see the option of Chinese calendar in the calendar app, but I soon became very disappointed because the numbers for this calendar is all in Chinese! I wish apple would consider adding lunar calendar or make the Chinese calendar speak out the days in the default language so all nationalities can use the Chinese calendar.
If anyone knows of an app that can add in lunar calendar in the calendar app, that would be so awesome too!
Hello everyone on Applevis,
This is my first post (though I've been a very long-time lurker), so before I get to the subject, I'd like to thank you all for all the information you've been providing. This is a wonderful resource - I think I'm an advanced iOS user but I'm not sure I could have been one without Applevis.
And now on to my question:
Greetings: I love the Outlook email client on my iPhone. I am blind and am a VoiceOver user. Literally overnight, VO, rather than read the sender and subject, now simply states, "YOU". I removed the app and reloaded, but this did not solve the problem. Has anyone experienced this and if so, has anyone been able to correct the problem? Prior to this change, VO would announce the sender, subject and time of email. Thanks so much.
Is anyone else having issues with the outlook application on iOS? I am able to open a message, but for instance the back button will not let me return to the inbox.
Running 17.2.
Does anyone have any experience printing with Avery templates for their various card stocks and file dividers, either on-line or by downloading templates for Pages? Are they usable with Voice Over, and accessible on-line, as they claime? I'm working through an iPhone.
I don't think I've seen this mentioned anywhere, but on my iPad pro at least, playing audio with two-finger double-tap or the play headphone button is now a stack, and I'm reasonably sure it wasn't before iOS 18.
Example, I'm listening to a book inSpeech Central, pause it, and go into youTube to watch a video. Do that for a bit and go out and hit play, and I'm back reading my book.
Good day, can I listen to, or download a podcast using the Ios built in podcast app that are not on their list? I did insert the Earl into the appropriate field, but the search is allways unsuccesfull. I must add that there are 4 programme series of the relevant radio station already on the list.
regards
Hi all,
So I've been experiencing this ever since iOS 17, whereby I would not get a push banner notifications while my phone is unlocked; instead the notifications get sent directly to the notification center. But while it is locked I received push notifications on the lock screen just fine.
I made sure that any of the focus modes are off, and I made sure that banner notifications are enabled.
Hi all,
I am using IOS 8.3. My Iphone battery was fully discharged yesterday. I fully charged it today, but the Iphone does not function properly. It keeps rebootingtill Voiceover says 'Voiceover on', and reboots again. Could you please give me some advice?
Thanks a lot!
Hi all,
I'm looking for an IOS app that will set gain automatically by listening during record-pause mode. I'd settle for a really good implementation of auto-gain, but some hardware recorders take the smarter approach of setting the levels based on a sample of sound acquired during pause mode, rather than riding the gain constantly throughout the recording. Y'all know of any accessible IOS apps that do this?
If none exist, one of you coder types should go write one immediately and bring it back here. I'll wait;)
Hello: some how my roter is adjusting the speach rate as well as other things in steps of 10 instead of steps of ones. Can anyone tell me how to change it back. For example when i go to change my speach rate it goes from 10 to 20 instead of 1 2 3 4 ect.
This has been an off and on problem for me since iOS 17 and I'm wondering if anyone else deals with it and if there's a solution.
Periodically and seemingly at random, when viewing a webpage with Voiceover, paragraphs will repeat themselves. The only solution when this starts happening is to close and restart Safari. Except on search results from DuckDuckGo, those will always repeat. It makes reading a whole page with the swipe down gesture impossible.
Hello,
Could anyone help me? I would like to have a script that turns off voiceover and sets the screen brightness to 50% and the second one for turning on voiceover and setting the screen brightness to 0%.
Has anyone else tried to assign an iOS shortcut to a keyboard or braille display command in the Voiceover settings under all commands? I have been trying to do this since version 13.0 when it became theoretically possible. It has never worked. It still doesn't work for me on iOS 14. I know my shortcuts work because they run just fine if I assign them to a gesture, even the new back-tap. Unfortunately gestures aren't that helpful when I am trying to use my iPhone or iPad with a braille display or keyboard. It really interrupts the workflow to switch to using the screen.
